I gave four stars because it was, as it promotes its self to be. It's a small plate service that can be shared amongst each other. With that said, I couldn't honestly recommend this place for children. I definitely get a very adult feel from the place. It was clean. And service was prompt and very helpful and friendly. I visited this place twice now for lunch. It has a restaurant area and an enclosed heated patio. I think they said you had to be 18 to eat here. I love the tapas style food. The two occasions I tried the savor board and the nosh board, and shared with my lunch partner. It's the perfect size for a light lunch. I enjoyed the savor more. What's nice on the board you get at least two of the 5 board items. The board is very well presented. I've also had the hot fried duck bao each time, I love it. We ate off the devour dinner menu (savor and taste). Super tasty and fun to try little samples of the food. Brussels sprouts and Quattro puffs were delicious. The desserts were to die for. The servers were very helpful without being annoying. My husband doesn't drink and they were very conscientious to let us know what foods contained alcohol. read more

You walk in and see a sign that says "must be 21 or older." Then you see a swanky restaurant behind the sign and think that the place might be a little pretentious, but nice. Then a server comes over and you realize that this place is anything but pretentious. Never have I had such friendly, welcoming staff. The owner walks around singing and greeting people and the servers are the same. There is a great porch area that overlooks Rangeline Road and offers a lot of seating and umbrellas. The inside has a main dining room with high top, big group tables and booths. There is also a back room, closed off with a curtain that can be used on busy nights or private events. The food is interesting and delicious. I ordered the Berry Nice Salad, Jalapeño Corn Creme Brûlée, Chicken Minis, and S'mores Brûlée dessert. The salad had a vinegar based dressing that matched well with the sweet berries and nuts. The chicken sliders were smothered in barbecue and served with homemade pickles. The Corn Creme Brûlée is what this place is known for and can only be described as a "fiesta in your mouth." And obviously, the s'mores dessert was ooey, gooey, and delicious. The only complaint is that the dinner menu is difficult to read. It would help if all the words lined up on the left side on both pages and if the meals were labeled more boldly. Besides being confused on what to order, this place is great and I will be back. read more

We were in town for a college graduation and went over to Divvy for lunch. When we got to the host, she asked if my one year old son would be joining us (passive aggressively leading into her next point). She rudely informed us that they wouldn't let anyone in under 21 years old. When I looked at her confused (I have never encountered a restaurant or city with this policy) she patronizingly asked, "well is he under 21??" I still don't know if this is the restaurant's policy or the city of Carmel's law, but neither excuse the host's rude, unprofessional, and downright abrasive demeanor. As someone in the hospitality industry, it doesn't matter how the food tastes or how the drinks are, people will remember this host and think twice before being a returning guest read more

My friend and I came to celebrate a birthday with dinner on a Saturday evening. We didn't make reservations, but showed up around 5pm. We were told before being seated that our table was reserved at 630, thus we would need to leave at or before then. No problem there. The food and service was wonderful. We were done eating for a while, cognizant of the time getting closer to 610. I saw our waitress helping another table and figured she would bring our check when she had the chance. I then notice what seems to be the manager (later confirmed to be Kevin, the owner) staring at our table while talking to 3 other employees. Again, we were very clearly done eating and simply waiting for boxes and our check. At around 6:13 Kevin then came to our table, and while tapping with his pointer finger on our table, states they need this table for a 630 reservation and walks off. He does not offer to grab the check, does not offer to grab boxes, does not apologize for the interruption, absolutely zero pleasantries were offered. It felt like he was kicking us out of our seats, ASAP through the urgency of his finger tapping, even though we still hadn't paid. We expressed to our waitress our discomfort with his approach, since it was very rude and not helpful in the slightest. She was very apologetic along with other staff who came by and also apologized on his behalf before we left. I would love to return, but based on my experience with the owner, Kevin, I'm not inclined to waste my time nor money supporting someone who very clearly lacks the skills necessary to communicate nor run a restaurant. I was aware of the need to be out of our table at or before 630. Unless he wanted us to dine and dash, we simply could not leave at the moment he urgently tapped on our table. He didn't offer assistance to his staff by grabbing boxes or our check, which would have clearly expedited the process and is a much more pleasant way to be reminded that we need to leave this table. Again, the staff was amazing, but it might be time for some new ownership.. I wouldn't recommend unless you enjoy feeling rushed out and unwelcome towards the end of your stay. read more

I really hate to see this place slipping... I only get to visit here once or twice a year. Always looked forward to the occasion, but after my last experience, I won't really miss it much. First time I had bad service, It took forever for our food, and even longer for the bill. In the waiters defense, they were just really understaffed, by golly he tried. He was solely trying to wait on two large groups. During Northside Nights the restaurant should have been prepared for increased business. And as far as my group goes, I had reservations, they knew we were coming. My other gripes: *the DivvyPolitan no longer comes with the jolly rancher, which was my main reason for ordering it. *the Sip and Share were so weak that they don't qualify as an alcoholic beverage, more like a juice concoction. *the cheese crust on top of the mac 'n' cheese was so hard, the steak knife couldn't get the darn thing cut... *brussel sprouts were extremely salty... they are usually heavenly, no idea what happened there... *food luke warm at best *no caramel at the end It's a shame. Truthfully, if this had been my first experience I would never go back again. Thank goodness I have been here on their good days and I am hoping that this was an isolated experience and that it returns to their previous glory. read more

I have always liked Divvy. The food is great and love the shareable plates. Last visit our server failed to place one of our orders and didn't own up to it. This item came about 20-25 minutes after the rest of our food. Unfortunately, it was my dinner so I ended up watching my friends eat. When brought to management's attention, we were offered a 20% discount on that item. He missed the point...it wasn't an enjoyable experience and the failure to make it right will keep us from returning. There are too many other great options. read more

It can quickly get kinda pricey to do that kind of sampling when it's just a party of 2, but with a group, you'll get to try more plus hopefully divvy up the bill as well. This small plate experience makes it an ideal place to meet up with friends. Our servers (2 for a party of about 20) were so prompt, accommodating & friendly...it really made our night so fun. They made great recommendations & plates were whisked away routinely so we'd be ready for the next round of new dishes to try. We ended up loving: * NY Strip sauté (literally melt in your mouth goodness) * Bacon bites (pork belly in a maple bourbon glaze...savory, salty, sweet...wow) * Mac & cheese (creamy with a crunchy pablo topping) * Beef empanadas (don't be thrown off by the strawberry mole...it's got some heat though!) Wouldn't really recommend the pork tenderloin (nothing special) or the scallop wonton tacos (taco fillings kept falling out, making it difficult to enjoy the full effect). Final thoughts...We really appreciated that they had a private space that was able to accommodate our large group & even took a group photo for us. Also, the cucumber water was a happy surprise. It's "elevated" bar food. A lot of frozen and pre-made ingredients. The elotes were frozen corn, but the toppings were tasty. The mushrooms were soggy, but could have been delicious with a sear or wood fired. The biscuit bignets were pre-made biscuit dough. The shrimp tacos were nothing special. The creme brulee was typical, what you'd find in most places that offer it. The service was great and the kitchen is clearly doing their best with uninspired ingredients and recipes. It's a combination of (definitely the biggest issue) cutting corners to save money on ingredients and a lack of creativity from whoever is designing the menu. read more

This is a great place to come with friends or even just on a cozy date. I went with my wife and a small group of friends. We split two sangria pitchers, and then each got a few small plates of our own. I had one of the tour boards- everything I had was tasty, and it was just the right amount of food. My wife and I also split the dessert board and that was a great option for people who can't pick just one dessert! We set reservations for a Saturday night with friends. The staff was friendly and we were seated on time. It was a new experience ordering from the shareable options on the menu. Divvy was participating in Devour Indy. There were 3 options to select as a variety of menu items for $29 per person. We elected to take advantage of the special pricing and order the bbq too. The waiter was informative and attentive. We didn't have to ask for anything and he checked on all aspects of our experience. The menu items that stood out the most were the porterhouse bites (cooked to perfection with a lot of flavor), bbq brisket sandwich (some of the best I have eaten), and the dessert chocolate mousse (left us wanting more). I checked out this restaurant for Devour Indy and I'm so happy I did! The owners of Divvy also own Woody's library- so you already know the food is amazing! I started with a "bubbles" taste tour which was a champagne flight. Each selection was extremely delicious! Next I moved on to the "Taste tour" which I believe was a devour only special, but all of the selections can be found on the regular menu. The restaurant is a small plate and sharing style (hence the name, divvy) but I found myself extremely full afterwards! The food was flavorful and savory and was the best small plates option I've been to on the Northside. My devour menu also offered a dessert which was- as you can already assume- equally as good! I would highly recommend this place for a date night, girls night, or even a treat yourself night! read more

There's a lot of gluten free and dairy free options, which I appreciated, and everything is clearly marked on the menu. Each day of the week has different special offers. Wednesday is half priced bottle of wine night! Most recently, I enjoyed the Vegan tour board, and Sizzlin Shrimp. Memorable items on this for me were the Brussels sprouts and the nut cheese spread. Divvy is consistently excellent! I have been going to divvy for many years, and it never, ever waivers in quality. The menu is super interesting, a little different but in a good way; just be patient with it & ask questions if it's your first time. Yesterday I ate here and ordered TWO salads for myself (they aren't the HUGE ones you get elsewhere), and they were the best salads I've ever had. One was called the Rocket, and it had apples, walnuts & brie in it with champagne vinaigrette. The other salad was small tomatoes with cheese & basil (caprese) and it was so fresh & tasty. And I LOVE the optional cucumber water! Normally I struggle to properly "hydrate" --- if only I had this amazing cucumber water at home! I went here for lunch with the sister (who is from out of town & picked divvy out of all of the Carmel restaurants). I got home and 2 hours later my husband, daughter & her husband said, "Want to go to divvy for dinner?" I said, "haha I JUST had a late lunch there, but SURE!" Turns out they had a big wait for dinner & we couldn't get in, but we'll be back! There are many seating choice (tall, long tables, booths, cool wood-wall back room, & super large outdoor patio with Smart Pergola so it's comfortable 9 mos./yr. Servers are always good. I love, love, love going to Divvy for date nights. They have an amazing menu with lots of varieties and everything is shareable. The drink menu is great and they even offer flights! The ambiance is nice and dark, and it's definitely a restaurant where I would bring anyone who is visiting. They are super busy on Friday nights and Saturday nights though! I've been to this place a few times, and the last time I went had me thinking if I will ever go back. The food was fine, however, the service provided by the server left a lot to be desired. He was great in answering our questions in the beginning. I thought he took our order fine, until I realized that he put down an extra order of brussel sprouts, which we did not over. He was adamant in saying we had ordered it due to the fact that he wrote it down. I told him that was not the case because I would not have ordered the dish if it was already coming with the savor board. While the adage, "the customer is always right" is not always true, I do believe in my case that I did not order two of the same dishes. read more

I have such a sweet spot for small plates, I don't know why it took me so long to try Divvy! My husband and I stopped in on a Tuesday night and were seated right away. The menu was a bit overwhelming at first since there are SO MANY good options! The waiter talked us into both ordering a chef featured tour board. My husband tried the Savor and I ordered the Vegan board. So glad we went with this option which allowed us to try so many different plates! My favorite was the blistered Brussels while my husband loved the porterhouse teasers.
