While "coney island" is a reference to a particular preparation of hot dogs, probably invented in Detroit, in the metro area, the term has come to be ubiquitous with what the rest of the Midwest would simply refer to as a diner. We visited this location to try their "coneys" and were very pleased with the menu, service, food, and value. Dix coney sauce is more of a traditional chili, but a tasty treat none the less. They use Dearborn brand wieners, which are a local favorite and high quality. The fries were great, the server top-notch. They have a full menu, breakfast (anytime) lunch, and dinner entrees, and over the top cakes if you've a mind to have dessert. Good show, Dix people!!

There were flying ants in the restaurant & one on my menu running around that I smushed with a napkin. Food was subpar & the staff must have asked me if I wanted more coffee when my cup was still full 5 times (not that being attentive is a bad thing but there were context clues here that we didn't need more). I think the bacon is the pre-cooked bacon from Costco, very thin & tastes strikingly similar. Ok since it's the only place around open 24 hours but I wouldn't recommend if there is anything else open!

Having a light night cheese burger here is always a delight. Always a good crowd here remember it's open here 24/7. But from my experience it doesn't matter what time it is here all shifts bring excellent service and a nice crowd that is either coming from club or work. But at around 12 there is not sitting just order to go. Try all the cakes and definitely order the cheeseburger with fries. And once you get a chance to dine in the place brings back a nostalgic feeling. That is all. Chief I don't ever miss the past I just learn from it.

Been a while like 5 year's new employees Dawn our waitress rules, the cook made faboulus Greek Omelette and Patty Melt. Dawn made a super Chef's Salad and old guy make some of the very best ever Unstuffed Pepper Soup Wow a must try.

I'm not from this area, but I was visiting friends and we were hungry late at night. Typical Coney Island menu, so I ordered a double bacon cheeseburger with everything and cheese fries, an order of pancakes, a full breakfast scrambled eggs/HB/bacon/sausage/toast, and cheese sticks. My friend ordered a chicken hani pita deluxe. Cheese sticks were ok, a little hard and over fried. The breakfasts were ok but the hash browns tasted disgusting. The only thing I could equate the taste to was kind-of like gas, or really old thick grease. IDK. I love hashbrowns, they're really hard to mess up! They're literally the easiest thing to make! The bacon was dried out and over cooked like they were pre-cooked then reheated in the microwave. I just have really nothing good to say about their food, but the girl behind the counter was friendly. I would NOT recommend eating here. I wouldn't even give it to my neighbors dog. It all went straight in the trash. What a waste of $60 (with a nice tip, too.)

As far as Coney Island's go, this is the best! It is crazy that you can still smoke in restaurants, but at this place it is part of the dining experience. You gotta get your Coney(No Onions) or with onions if you are into that sick taste. And you gotta get chili cheese fries! Drink your pepsi(the only coke sold here comes in white powder form usually in 8s or teeners) threw a straw as to not get any sores from the not so clean cliental. If you are there for breakfast(served anytime), it is good too! Oh yeah, this place is only open 24 hours... unless there is a shooting. They will close up until the police give the okay. Is all this worth the risk???? yeah, It is. it most definately is! Bring Cash and tip the waitress about the same as what your meal costs. Food this good this cheap isn't too common anymore. DON'T ever bring kids! or old people... and if you come with more than 4 people or a gun you are an idiot.

This was Fish & Chip ... but as you can see this is a fish stick they warmed up from Save A Lots.

Good food, good service and nice people. Terrific prices! My favourite little corner spot for Coney eats in and around Lincoln Park.

Not good. It's changed. Not a real coney dog. Big attitude from the lady taking orders. Definitely go somewhere else.

Nasty food. Waitress doesn't put gloves on when they butter toast. Very rude service.

This is a German restaurant in name only. Service was sub-par. My party sat for 10-15 minutes before water was offered. Ordered appetizers and our dinners. Dinners came first followed five minutes later by appetizers. My order of Chicken paprikash was lukewarm and I could find very little chicken in it. I was so hungry I regrettably ate it that way. Waitress never checked back if everything was ok or if we wanted another round of drinks. I generously give two stars because the Weihenstephaner Dunkel on draft is a rare find and the German egg rolls are outstanding. Other than that, our visit was sehr enttäuschend (disappointing)

There are so few German restaurants (although they have other options). It's a cute place with long tables that can be for bigger groups or communal dining. The servers were great and checked in on us regularly, and helped us figure out the different options and specials. The spaetzle bowls are pretty big and you can either share or bring some home. The schnitzel was good, but not big enough to share. The paprikash bowl was also tasty. The German potato salad was a real standout, give it a try. Prices were reasonable.
