    Lobster roll

Place boasts the best fried shrimp in the civilized world, I wouldn't go that far but it was good. Everyone was pleased with the service we received, the quality of the food and speed of the delivery. One kinda neat thing they offer is a "make your own cocktail sauce" station at your table. I was thrilled to see a COLD water lobster roll. So, that was my obvious choice along with premium fries ( not sure what made them special, they were merely crinkle cut ) All in all a good meal

Doc's was our first stop after long travel day. They were not too busy when we arrived which was great for our burgeoning appetites. Service was great and quick with our food coming out fast. We sat almost outside on the porch. I had fried shrimp and oysters meal and my wife had the fried shrimp and fish. It's a lot of fried but great fare. The French fries were very good too! Prices were about what you would expect for the area. Enjoyed our visit.

This place came highly recommended to us so I had high expectations. It was very busy, so we had to wait a little, which we didn't mind. The parking lot was jammed and hard to navigate. We waited and were seated earlier than told. Server was quick, kind and helpful. The rating is mostly for the food. We got seafood platters and they were okay. The food was heavily fried and the breading encompassed most of the actual "seafood." The grilled shrimp were good and the crab cake were our favorite. Also, the make your own cocktail sauce is lowkey lazy for me. Just provide cocktail sauce. Overall, it was an okay experience if you're looking for fried food.

The food came out quickly. Very large and good tasting portions. The staff were friendly and attentive.

Being a recent relo to the Foley area from Daphne, we have been looking for new food spots and decided to try Doc's - BIG mistake. First let me say the help is welcoming and helpful, sadly that's where the good news stops. The menu is limited and WAY overpriced - big time ! The setting is definitely for the over 50 crowd (aka music, menu selections, salad bar, etc). Lots of "fried" food, little grilled or fresh options. For us when we see "warning signs" after sitting down, we always opt for the least likely stomach offender listed on the menu, in our case the grilled fish sandwich and standby burger both coming with fries. Here is a short list of our YIKES 1) both our sandwiches had previously cooked/prepared meat on them, is was clearly just warmed up for the delivery :( 2) fries were warm not hot and seasoned funny 3) when I asked for mustard they had only the takeaway dispensers no on table dispensing unit :( 4) sandwiches were really bad, the fish was swimming in grease, so much so the bun was not edible. The hamburger was so dry it made sawdust seem like an oasis. 5) coffee was cool on delivery and when we asked them to nuke it , the waitress informed us they did not have a microwave on site - really ? 6) both of us agreed that the best thing on our plate was the garnish of tomato and lettuce 7) a $40 tab plus tip was the icing on the cake This place is new .. the food however is some of the worst we have ever had - the only way we would return is if we were arrested and handcuffed, then blindfolded beforehand.

Just like they promised.....It was the best fried shrimp I ever had! Gumbo was also excellent. Service was quick and friendly.

The food was ok. The crab cakes were probably the best thing we ordered. The red snapper was too salty. The sides did not have much taste to them. The raw oysters were small but good. The steamed oysters were good.

    Bushwacked!... ready for some grub!!

Would not call it the best shrimp in the world as it was over cooked and they were pretty tough and chewy but it's also peak season and they were slammed so there's that.. not really a fair review given this as service was not good.. but then again this on the main strip in a main tourist trap section so one would think they would be accustomed to it and prepared.. ?? Gifting them another .5 a star up to a solid three to be understanding of that ...

Well it looks like a buffet. Reds, gumbo, and shrimp

Food is always plentiful. Food is great. Service is impeccable with our normal waiter. We love sitting outside even on a hot day. I recently ordered seafood platter and while I can eat a lot, I could not finish this one. I tried my hardest.

When we first arrived at the resort, we were in awe by the beautiful landscaping. We arrived early and decided to have a cocktail at the resort bar before our dinner reservation at 7:30PM. There was live music in the lounge area. When we checked in for our reservation, we were seated right away by a window, which I requested. The view was nice. Our waitress was quiet and seemed very busy with multiple tables. For appetizers, we ordered the fried quail knots and a bowl of soup. For dinner, we ordered the duroc pork chop and 10 oz filet. For sides, we ordered Bayside Blue Mac and Potato Hash. Overall, everything was VERY rich and decadent, heavy. The pork chop was tough, the filet was very thick and tough, the sides were salty, saucy, and heavy. Overall, the resort is nice and the view inside the restaurant is pretty but the food was too heavy and rich for my liking.

The venue is nice, the service good, but the food was just okay. Located right on Canal Road, this spot sits in the building that used to house a favorite local breakfast joint before transitioning into this casual steak and seafood concept. The name BOLO actually stands for "Bear on the Lookout," which ties into their sister restaurant over at Bear Point Harbor. When you pull up, you will find plenty of easy, dedicated parking right out front. Inside, they have completely transformed the space into a cozy, casual vibe with dim lighting, rustic wood accents, comfortable booth seating, and a nice indoor bar area. Most reviews online have been generally solid, averaging around four stars, with folks usually praising the upscale atmosphere and friendly staff. The crowd favorites on the menu typically include their hand-cut ribeye steaks, the prime rib, broiled oysters, and their unique collard green grilled cheese small plate. I tried a wide variety of their offerings, the bread was just okay, coconut shrimp was very disappointing, the chopped salad was quite good, the wings were different and not bad but not great, my friend's prime rib steak sandwich was fair, but the fries were not good. Unfortunately my ribeye was average at best but that's where the underwhelming really hit home. The place was pretty empty, and it might because of the food, but the same folks that own this previously had an extra special breakfast spot here and I had my hopes that this would just special. I will go back again down the road and give them a try and hope that they improve their food.

The place itself is gorgeous. The setting is fantastic. You walk in thinking, "Okay, this is going to be a great experience." Then somewhere between the host stand and the check, things begin to unravel. Today finally pushed me into Yelp-review territory. We stopped in around 1 p.m. on a slow Sunday. The hostesses were gathered around the stand chatting like somebody had just dropped screenshots from the group text. The person who eventually greeted us was wearing dark sunglasses inside, which was certainly a choice. Not exactly the polished first impression you expect from a restaurant charging these prices. Once seated, things didn't improve much. Our server struggled to explain the specials, answer basic menu questions, or really seem familiar with what the restaurant was serving. Again, if I'm paying Zeke's prices, I'm expecting something slightly more polished than, "I thinnnnk that comes with..." Then the food arrived. One sandwich was specifically ordered without onions because of a food allergy. It arrived covered in onions. Another meal was supposed to come with Brussels sprouts. It arrived with fries instead. Our server disappeared for about 15 minutes after the food was dropped, so by the time she came back, we were nearly finished eating and in need of refills. I mentioned the missing Brussels sprouts and was told they'd be "right out." The Brussels sprouts were not right out. In fact, the Brussels sprouts apparently entered the witness protection program because we never saw them again. Neither did our server. Eventually she returned with the checks, seemed surprised that the Brussels sprouts had never arrived, removed them from the bill, and otherwise appeared remarkably unconcerned that the meal had been wrong from beginning to end. And that's really my issue with Zeke's. Restaurants have off days. Kitchens make mistakes. Servers forget things. I get it. But when you're charging premium prices, service should be the easy part to get right... and after multiple visits, Zeke's consistently misses the mark. At this point, I'll spend my local dollars elsewhere. And if you're visiting from out of town, just know what you're getting into: the view may be beautiful, but there's a decent chance your wallet will leave considerably lighter while you're still wondering whatever happened to your Brussels sprouts.

One thing that stood out was the gift shop at the entrance--it could definitely use a refresh. The dark corner filled with outdated beach clothing isn't the best first impression. We visited on a Tuesday around 7:00 p.m., and there was no wait. During our meal, only about four tables were occupied, so it was very quiet. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and checked on us frequently. The only odd part of the atmosphere was that cartoons were playing on the bar TVs even though there weren't any kids in the restaurant. For dinner, my husband ordered the surf and turf, and his steak was cooked perfectly. The baked potato, however, came with an overwhelming amount of melted cheese--enough for several potatoes. I ordered the blackened grouper. It was cooked well and had good flavor, but the fillet was very thin and wasn't as memorable as other grouper dishes I've had. The whipped sweet potatoes were sweeter than expected from the brown sugar, and the Brussels sprouts were heavily coated in a sweet balsamic glaze, leaving them soft instead of crispy. I think both sides would be better with less added sweetness to let the natural flavors shine. We finished with the Bananas Foster, which was delicious and a fun presentation. It came with three small scoops of vanilla ice cream and half a banana. Since the flaming presentation takes a little time, larger scoops of ice cream would hold up better and not be half melted by the time the fire goes out. We would come back to avoid wait at other restaurants but would try different side dishes next time.

Fire Cracker Shrimp Fried Rice - 9.2 I order this every time we visit. It is my favorite dish of all the places we visit each year at the beach. It may not be the best but definitely my favorite and in the top 3 as far as best goes. The fried egg on top really puts it over the top although, I do wish it was runny and not cooked through. Gyoza - 7.0 Has a lot of filling which is good however, it isn't very seasoned or flavorful. They appeared to be fried however, not very crispy. We try gyoza at nearly any restaurant we visit that has it on the menu. Comparing this to other gyoza's, it's good but not great. Tuna Lovers Roll - 7.8 Roll was good but a little too spicy. The spice was expected obviously but still a tad too spicy. It also lacked the correct amount of sauce in my opinion. It also needed another ingredient or two to take it to the next level. Sesame Cracker w/ Honey Butter - 8.4 I rated it a little higher due to the originality. I have eaten at restaurants in half the States that make up this country and have never had toasted sesame crackers with honey butter. It is a thing in the South to have saltines, club cracker, etc. with butter at seafood and steak restaurants. However, I haven't seen this combo. It was good and not too filling.
