One clear advantage of this place, especially for Koreatown, is the relatively spacious parking. The interior is very aesthetic and the overall atmosphere is pleasant and well designed. Unfortunately, the coffee did not meet the same standard. One of the signature drinks was not properly mixed, with noticeable powder residue throughout the cup, so I did not finish it. The other two coffees my friends ordered had a strong, almost over extracted impression on the first sip, followed by a lingering bitterness. It did not feel particularly balanced or clean. The space is beautiful, but I hope more attention can be given to consistency and overall drink quality. read more

My sister and I were in the mood for coffee and found this place by chance. We each had a flat white, one with whole milk, the other with oat milk. The coffee was okay. Service was okay. The inside was clean, there were narrow tables made for people to sit for a quick coffee but not to get comfortable by any means. I'm glad I finally tried Document Coffee Bar, but I probably won't be back. I was looking for a good place to work in Koreatown on a recent weekday, and had been wanting to check this place out -- the vibes and menu both seemed great. The pros: Big and free parking lot, plenty of table space, nice music, staff and vibes. And a huge menu with a ton of different and unique options. The cons: There's no WiFi, and the seating is all swivel stools which I found to be uncomfortable and wobbly. I ordered the Mad Spice Latte -- a latte with nutmeg, allspice berries, ginger roots, cinnamon cloves, cacao nibs, and vanilla syrup. I asked the barista if the drink was super spicy, and she said it wasn't. Maybe this is a taste/preference thing, but I found the spices to be really overpowering, to the point of it not being particularly pleasant to drink. I didn't finish it (a rarity for me). Overall, this is a nice spot with good vibes, great parking and an extensive menu. But the lack of WiFi and comfortable seating is a deal-breaker for me. I'd only come back to get drinks to go... just not that spicy latte. read more

I ordered the London In the Rain that came with earl grey mixed with pure cane sugar with oat milk because I'm lactose intolerant! LoL! Anywho, it was perfectly balanced and I wish I would've ordered a second one instead of a cold brew but since I need my fix I think not. The menu has unique flavors and I can't wait to go back so my tastebuds can explore a little more. The service was good and the space is big but feels empty. I discovered Document Coffee Bar while looking for coffee nearby the Wilshire/Western Metro Station. There is parking in the back, and the entrance is fairly clean. The ambiance is quite calm, with walls decorated with portraits of people with items and shelves of products neatly organized. In terms of seating area, it is quite skimpy and narrow, which matches the thin rectangular space that they have. The fitting but artistic piece that I enjoyed was the light fixtures, which are made of trash cans and buckets. I ventured on to try their Chaga Latte, and unfortunately it was not a hit for me - too sweet! The staff working were more than happy to make me classic latte, and I enjoyed their latte much more! One drawback is that they do not have Wi-Fi, so if you want to get work done here, make sure to bring your own hotspot! read more

First time stopping by and I'm a bit mixed on the review. The cashier and barista were nice and made my drink fast. I ordered the Mad Spice Latte. It was served hot and had really great flavor with the different ingredients, it was basically Fall or Thanksgiving in a coffee and I absolutely loved it. However, there were some issues with the drink. Part of the flavor seems to come from the all spice berries, cacao nibs, and ginger roots in the drink itself. These pieces are hard, crunchy, and very bitter on their own. As I was drinking from the beginning, the harder chunks floated to the top and I wasn't about to crack a tooth or swallow them. Then once my drink was near the bottom, it was full of all the other nibs and it just wasn't a good way to end the drink. There isn't much indoor seating and the outdoor seating doesn't have any tables. The indoor tables are also pretty dirty and considering how slow it was, one of the two employees could've easily gone on some rounds to clean up a bit in the 45 minutes I sat inside. There's also no wi-fi which, overhearing the staff talking about it when a customer asked, they said it's so people converse with one another. Sorry but it's 2024, unless you're coming with other people to begin with, nobody "converses" anymore. My boyfriend and I were staying at the hotel across the street and by happy accident stumbled into Document for an afternoon pick me up. We didn't know what to expect, but it surpassed anything we were thinking! I had the hojicha latte and my boyfriend had the mad spiced latte. I loved my hojicha. It had the perfect amount of nuttiness I was looking for, and wasn't sweet at all which is my preference. My boyfriend loved his latte as well--very autumnal spice flavors, which is not my jam typically, but I had a sip and even I thought it was pretty good. Document latte: it was delicious and sweet but the maple syrup sweetened the drink up but you can't taste any of the maple syrup if that makes sense. It was like simple syrup on that way. Oat milk latte: the oat milk tasted homemade! Tasty. Almond milk latte: same here - the almond milk tasted homemade! Horchata late: for the person with the sweet tooth. This was a bit too sweet for my liking but if you like sweet this is a good choice. You can still taste the coffee but the sweetness was rather intense. Very cool hipster vibes. It's an art show room as well. Not many seating locations unless it's up against the wall. We walked there so can't talk about the parking. All in all would return. read more

I found this coffee shop/bakery near my hotel in Koreatown. When I walked inside, there were already a few people in line. There was a small tray of baked goods and from what I could tell these were likely coming from somewhere in town. My assumption is that they didn't make these in house because of the large boxes they searched through to see if they had a croissant I wanted. Behind the register, they had a small section of chocolates and merch that you could buy. In the back of the shop at the seating area, they had a large wall of portraits. There weren't many seats available so I was fortunate enough to grab one. I ended up ordering the Document Affogato, Document Cappuccino, and Sage Cheddar Sea Salt Croissant. It was my first time getting an Affogato and it was a pretty good experience. The espresso was very strong and slightly bitter (probably because of the chicory base), which went really well with the ice cream on top. My friend had the cappuccino and they said it wasn't anything special. The croissant was incredibly flaky and thick. I did get the floral earthy undertones from the sage, and tasted the saltiness from the sea salt. I enjoyed my brief time here, and recommend you check them out as it's fairly priced and has a nice ambiance! read more

The private lot appeared to be free parking during non-busy weekday lunch time as I didn't spot any parking attendants. Coffee is actually quite good! I always like it when a coffee shop makes a nice americano. I like to enjoy pure coffee without milk or additives, and this one certainly tasted good! There are very few seats. The back part of the store has a few along a bar, but no tables. It's pretty dark and when we were there it was full of giant flies. Free parking in the back. This place is my favorite coffee shop in Ktown! When I need a pick me up, Document is the place to go. The coffee here is super strong and delicious. My favorite is the document flat white, the maple syrup makes it taste so much better than a regular flat white. This is one of my favorite coffee shops in ktown! They have some unique coffee menu items, but I stuck with my cold brew coffee and thoroughly enjoyed every drop. They also have some delicious pastries available as well! Love their minimal aesthetic and quirky interior. On the ceiling, you'll see an assortment of primary colored objects hanging as minimal decor. They sell a variety of curated coffee related items as well as other food items. If you walk towards the back, there is a wall of posters adorned with people from all walks of life. A mini museum while sipping on your coffee? Yes, please!
