I took my dog here last spring, and was not happy with the results. Sure, my dog was clean and he smelled good when I picked him up, but the next day my dog was coughing a lot. He was taken to the vet, and was diagnosed with kennel cough. The only way he could have gotten this cough, according to the vet, is by interacting with a dog who had it, or by being put in a cage that another dog was in that had it, but said cage was not properly cleaned. Luckily, we caught it early, but if we had not our new dog, a 6 week old puppy, could have gotten it and it could have been fatal. Have taken my dog there for approximately the last two years. Called for an appointment to have my dog "Wrigley" get a hair cut (last week). They said they were not busy and to bring him in (9:30AM). Called at 2:00 PM and he wasn't ready. Went by at 4:10 PM and they said he was on the table and almost finished. When I picked him up I noticed a burn mark on his right lip, (wasn't there when I dropped him off). The person behind the counter also pointed that out to me. No other explanation. I've been taking my dog to this groomers for a while now, and finally reached a point of such dissatisfaction I thought it was time to warn all of the dog lovers out there. I have a maltese, who usually has a nice white fluffy coat when he does in for a grooming. This last time I showed the lady a picture of what I wanted, long facial hair and full body cut. My dog came back looking like he lives on the streets, his entire face was cut into a wolf face, his ears only as long as the cartilage and looking nothing like the picture we showed them. When we complained that the cut looked terrible and not what we asked for the owner said "the hair will grow, he's JUST a dog" Need I say more. I don't know about you, but Im not sure I want to ever leave my dog in the hands of anyone for countless hours who thinks he's JUST a Dog. read more

Honestly, they are the best in the area! Our dogs love them. One of our pups, was very aggressive when being groomed. In the past, our vet gave us some medication to give him, just to help him relax. After a few months, we no longer have to give him anything. All of our pups are rescued, so some have never had a "spa day" they are so good with them! They take the time, to make sure our dogs are comfy. They are all super awesome there! So happy we found them, and we will use to for years to come! Not to mention, they have very reasonable prices, very easy to get an appt. They also have a customer program. After 12 haircuts, you receive 50% off the 13th! I've never found that at another grooming salon. Very clean, you can see other dogs on tables, and they are talking to them, taking their time... they truly do love animals here. read more

Had been taking my dogs to this groomer for over 15 years and since the step daughter has taken over the business it's gone in the toliet. She shaved my dogs mane off and wanted to argue with me that they didn't, not only did I have pictures from the day before I had my dog which clearly showed they did. She was more concerned with "being right" and arguing with me then rectifing the situtation. I would NEVER return back there again. On top of this, my dogs hair has not grown back in properly and I was told it was because they groomed my dog incorrectly with a backwards cut and it stunts the growth of hair. The hair might not ever grow back. I would NEVER return back to this place. read more

Went there a few times based on a vet recommendation. One visit my dog was there for over 5 hours in a cage. I told them I lived close and to let me know when to bring him over so he wouldn't need to be locked up all day. They called and I dropped him off. Four hours later I called since I had not heard from them and they had not even started him. When I picked him up, my good natured and happy dog was lethargic with glassy eyes and just laid around all night. I later found a patch of fur that was cut very short with red marks that led me to believe they sedated him since he was probably barking his head off from being locked up in a very small cage all day. The staff was not very friendly and the prices are not great for the service they provide. The place is dirty and I inviting. There are far better places in the area. read more

I don't know much about animal grooming but I do know it shouldn't take 8 hours to groom a tiny puppy. So when I called to find out WTH was going on I still had to wait because the groomer wasn't ready. Wow. and his paw pads were all ruff and his nails were cut like claws and every time he jumps up to put his nails on my leg he almost breaks my skin. Looking for a more professional establishment that won't take forever to do a simple cut and won't charge me $50 for a puppy. Fool me once shame on you, but never again. read more

Upon recommendation from my pet sitter, I took my long-haired cat to Dog Performers to remove the many mats she had. Pepe has a natural mane a round her head and her tail is pretty fluffy. Her paws, head and tail are black; body is grey. Had a lion(ess) cut but had them leave hair a little long on her body so she wouldn't get cold (a/c and drafts). When I picked her up she was GORGEOUS!!! OMG, the little princess! She actually prances when she walks so must know how adorable she looks! I can't say enough about Dog Performers. The lady who greeted 'us' was nice and put me at ease. She let me meet the groomer and showed me the table where Pepe would be groomed. I asked for all non-scented products and they did what I asked. They're located on the 2nd floor and I needed help carrying Pepe's carrier down the stairs. They willingly helped! AND, they gave me treats as Pepe wouldn't eat them while she was 'visiting.' I heartily recommend Dog Performers and we'll be going back in a few months. read more

I just dropped off my dog this morning. She did NOT want to go in. The employee there pulled her by her leash (that's fine) and then grabbed her by the hair on her back (not ok wtf!) to pull her in. They do a good job but I would feel better if they would live tweet the grooming of my dog as it was happening. Lol. read more

I have to disagree with the previous review. I have taken 1 of our dogs to Dog Performers for a while now. The miniature poodle for 6 years. They are great. The service is still good. Yes, the price went up (didn't like it, but I understand, everything has gone up). I hope the next time it goes up, they will let us know before we pick up the dogs. The reason one of the dogs didn't look like she had been cut was because we asked them to ONLY cut her face. She is a puppy mill dog and we figured that just having her face cut was all she could stand the first time. The other dog that was cut is a champaign color and he always looks like the skin shows thru. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend these people. They are great with the dogs and they really care. The dogs are not afraid! They are excited to see us! Again, the little female (the puppy mill dog) is still afraid of alot of things, but she is better. And as I type this, one of the dogs is there, now, getting a haircut! read more

I brought my two dogs there only twice and was very disappointed. The first time I brought in my Yorkies, they did a decent job on the male, except for the nails which were too long. I wanted to have show dog length haircut on the female Yorkie and they chopped off her hair. It was so short that I could not put a bow in her hair. The dogs were shaking like they were scared and I was so upset with the haircut. They apologized and said to come back and they would take care of them next time. I believe in giving people a second chance and I called for an appointment at 10 a.m. They never said that they go by a first come first serve basis. If I call for an appointment and bring them there by the scheduled time, I expect them to be taken care of at that time. I did not want them sitting in a cage for hours. I called after 3 hours to see what was going on and they said that they still were not ready. I said that I will be picking them up and to forget about the service. At that point, she said well one of the dogs has been cleaned. I said that I will be picking them up anyway. When I picked them up, once again they were scared and the dog they supposedly said was cleaned didn't even smell like a fresh wash. I think they just wet him down and that was it. I will never bring them there again. I don't understand why they would keep the dogs in the cages for so long. read more
