Since I do not, the next best thing was finding LA Auto which is Woman owned and Operated to fix my ride! LA Auto was brought to my attention thanks to the Projects feature in the Yelp App. I sent out a request for a job or service and Yelp broadcasted it to businesses to reach out to me concerning the service. I had initially had a different mechanic before LA Auto that was going to do the job, but a price change occurred before the vehicle was in their possession. Decide to nix that mechanic and go back to the drawing board acquiring estimates for the job. By this point, I had already ordered and picked up my parts directly from the dealership so they would match my vehicle. All I needed was the labor to complete the repair. I was really intrigued that there was a Woman owned and operated auto shop in Houston, so I decided to reach back out to the shop about an estimate for labor. My inquiry was Friday afternoon, so I didn't expect to hear back until Monday. Liz, the Owner, however, was in contact with me in and out the entire weekend asking for pictures of the parts to ensure they were correct for the vehicle based on the VIN as well as making sure they didn't need to paint the handles. She gave me a range on the price for the labor, which I could understand because she never saw the vehicle before- only pictures of the damage. We did most of our communication on Monday which offerred a great opportunity for me to get the car fixed that afternoon since she had an opening. I honestly thought I may have to come back another day to get the job completed because EVERY OTHER BODY SHOP I SPOKE TO said I would have to drop the car off just to get an estimate. I did that with one Pearland body shop and received a quote of over a THOUSAND dollars just to fix some handles! They even stated the labor was high because the panels of the car had to be removed. Thanks to Youtube, II knew that was not the case and Liz the owner and my mechanic confirmed my research as she completed the work on the vehicle in less than an hour WITHOUT removing the inside panels. She worked fast and I was even able to see her work from the office which provides a chair or two inside for waiting customers. A/C is blizzard cold inside the waiting area, so bring a jacket. This is not your car dealership waiting room with tvs and refreshments, so bring your own, but Liz worked so fast I didn't need to indulge in either! Really friendly, sincere, and affordable service from Liz at LA Auto. I am so glad to not only have my car repaired (FINALLY, with the exception of one small part that the dealership gave me in error that doesnt affect the main fix) but I am so estatic to support a small business owned and operated by women. I am telling everyone I know about LA Auto if they ever need repairs on their vehicle. This place is a real gem and deserves to shine!

Thankfully, rain made today a slow business day and I was next in line. Tireni was assigned to my appraisal. Took a quick 2 minute survey of my details, and put my car through the process. They estimate. 30-40 processing period. I gave up my keys at 2:10p, my car was moved at 2:17, returned at 2:32 and I received my appraisal at 2:43. A very well timed process. Fast forward a month, I ordered a car to be delivered from Louisiana location for a test a drive. $200 non-refundable. It took two weeks and the tracker sucked, rarely updated. But it eventually came in. And the test drive process was a breeze, again in and out in less than 20. The gal hated the car (Genesis gv70 Electrified). Too cramped, but very pretty. So we passed, but the staff and service was easy and non-invasive Definitely recommend if you're looking. No negotiation, but no hassle either.

Prior to taking ownership of a vehicle from him, he had shown integrity by holding the car for someone else and upholding his prior verbal agreement. I offered to put down a deposit that day on the phone to take the car out from under this other person, but he refused. To me, this was a clear sign of someone with integrity. In addition to this, he also went out of his way to help me by taking the car to a shop of my choosing to have it inspected and taking the car to get the front tires replaced as they were balding and not safe for road use. This was very important as I was flying in from California and didn't have time to manage logistics and coordinate anything due to flight delays. There were no surprises at all during the entire transaction. Everything was very clear and completely transparent during and after the entire process. I was floored, as I'm used to car dealerships trying to rake you over the coals and squeeze as much money out of you as possible. Not with Kerry Strait! The price for the car was very fair, and required no negotiation on my part. If I ever know anyone looking in the Houston area or if they see one of his cars online, I won't hesitate to recommend them to Kerry for an open and honest business transaction.

I recommend everyone not trust this dealership. I was looking at an Altima at Keating Toyota and wanted to buy it, but I checked online for comparable vehicles in the area before making a decision. That's when I came across Central Houston Nissan. I saw what looked like an amazing deal on an Altima on their website. I called in and spoke with Sarah Simmons in BDC. She reassured me the car was available and that the $20k price listed would be the actual purchase price, with the only additional cost being tax, title, and license--about $2k total. I asked her multiple times to confirm this and whether there were any mandatory add-ons. She said she even called the GM, who confirmed they would honor the online price and that any add-ons were completely optional. I also told them I didn't currently have a car and that Uber costs were adding up, and they told me they would reimburse my Uber. When I arrived, I loved the car, test drove it, and then went into Omar's office to go over the numbers. The breakdown I was given included the retail price plus a $950 window protection fee, $1,590 environmental protection fee, $2,958 recon and certification fee, and a $1,977 LoJack fee--on top of tax, title, and license. I told them this was not what I had agreed to. The manager came out and said the most they could remove was $900. I told them I couldn't move forward because this was not what I was promised or could afford working retail. They said there was nothing they could do, refused to reimburse my Uber as promised, and would not provide a ride back home because I chose not to buy the car. This was honestly insane to me. The car only had 5,338 miles on it, so a $3k recon fee made no sense. They claimed it was for a "lifetime powertrain warranty," which is the same warranty they advertise on their website as a free, complimentary service included with every new and used car.

When I went to report him to the Service Director, he barged into the office sat in the chair with attitude to try and intimidate me. I acknowledged him and said that my story is the same whether he is there or not because it is the truth and his lack of professionalism needs to be handled. At least 5 other service agents witnessed this and none intervened until he was yelling and pacing and the one told him to stop very inconspicuously. If it wouldn't void my warranty, I would never go back again.
