First time coming here and they did an amazing job, I love how round and fluffy my pup is. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called to schedule an appointment for my senior pup and they were able to get him in Saturday morning.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Important to note the receptionist told me they don't take grooming appointments after 12pm.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It took about 3.5 hours total, and the staff were super friendly. My dog came back looking handsome and happy. Definitely will be coming back.

Our recent experience at Doggie-Mat was marked by significant miscommunication and disappointment. We brought our dog, Koffi, in for grooming with high hopes for a thorough and comprehensive service, but the end result left us feeling unsatisfied and frustrated. As the summer heat had taken a toll on our furry friend, we were genuinely excited about getting Koffi de-shedded. We had contacted Doggie-Mat a week in advance to inquire about their services and pricing. The person we spoke to provided us with a detailed list of services, including ear cleaning, nail clipping and grinding, anal glands expressed, trimming of genital fur, and paw fur trimming. We also expressed our desire for a special de-shedding treatment, which we were informed could be added for an additional cost. We took extra care to ensure that all details were confirmed when scheduling Koffi's appointment for 9 AM. We were also delighted to hear that Doggie-Mat could accommodate Koffi after grooming is completed until their 5 PM closing time. We looked forward to a comprehensive grooming experience for our furry friend, especially given the challenges of the summer heat and Koffi's shedding. On the day of the appointment, we dropped off Koffi and received no questions or concerns from the staff. However, our optimism quickly faded when we were called back just two hours later to pick up our dog. This rapid turnaround left us impressed but also suspicious, given the extensive list of services we had requested. Upon arrival to pick up Koffi, we were presented with a bill of $65, a price that not only felt remarkably low for the amount of services we requested, but also did not align with the quote we had received over the phone. Confused, we inquired about the services covered by this amount. To our shock, we were informed that Koffi had only received a bath, which was not at all what we had expected. Our primary reason for bringing our dog to Doggie-Mat was the de-shedding treatment, and it had been completely overlooked. Furthermore, the promised paw fur trimming service was also omitted, despite our hopes of preventing dirt accumulation in the crevices of Koffi's paws. To make matters worse, the staff member proceeded to lecture us, insisting that we should have explicitly stated our desired services during the appointment booking. It was clear to us that the miscommunication was not on our part but rather a failure of the establishment to provide the services we had originally agreed upon. In retrospect, perhaps one mistake on our end was not confirming the specifics of the bath and de-shedding services upon bringing Koffi in for his appointment. Nevertheless, we believe that the initial phone conversation should have clarified these details and expectations. However, we must mention the some positive aspects of our visit. Koffi smelled amazing, and they added a charming Halloween-themed bandana when we picked him up. It was a lovely surprise. The staff member also took the time to inform us that the groomer commented on how Koffi was a very sweet boy during the grooming process. This made us incredibly happy, knowing that our dog is well-behaved and appreciated by the staff. Overall, our visit to Doggie-Mat left us highly disappointed and frustrated. What should have been a positive experience was marred by a failure to communicate and deliver on the services we had originally agreed upon. We recommend that future customers be exceptionally clear in specifying their requirements when booking appointments to avoid any misunderstandings.

I was very impressed . I have a 14 year old Yorky with bad hips cataracts some memory loss and this Shop did amazing. She didn't come back home like trembling and fear. She was actually left the location very happy. She didn't seem as if she was sedated like other shops. I was very pleased, and they promised me that they would give her the best care, considering her age and allowed more time to even take care of her so that made me feel more comfortable what I recommend this place to anyone it's a definite yes the location isn't very presentable outside nor the inside but when I tell you, they give your pet excellent care it's excellent care so thumbs up great place to take your pet who is also your family member. I would definitely be back.

This was the first time I ever took my dog to the groomers! Nina was very nice and sweet with Oliver! Definitely recommend this place as Oliver isn't a easy dog to handle. They reassured me that he was in good hands and that they took really good care of him. He's never looked better than when I got him as a puppy! Definitely coming back here. Amazing work! And they were able to squeeze me in for same day appointment.

My go to groomers for my dog!! I have a big shepherd who is 100 lbs so it is very hard to bath him at home. I always call to make an appointment, because they do get very packed. I also like that this place is pretty close to home. It does take a while. Usually I make an appointment for 10am and get a call to pick him back up around 2 or 3pm. My dog always comes out super soft and smelling fresh! He also gets a nice bandana each time. During holidays, they have holiday ones to go with the theme. They have always been friendly when I came and apparently, I'm told that my dog is very good during his bathing and grooming session. At home, it's so hard for me! His extra hair is all brushed out and they clean his ears and trim his nails also. For my dog, since he is big, it costs me $43. The price went up a little, as it used to costs me $40 when I first took him. I believe small dogs start around $20. Prices can vary also depending on the type of hair your dog has. We come every month or 2 or if I know my dog will get really dirty. For example, the last time when I took him to the groomers (last week), we went on 2 hikes where he got to play in lake water and also the beach and rolling in sand. I made an appointment for the next day after both hikes, so the following morning he went to the groomers and came back all nice and clean after. To me, the $43 is 100% worth it so that I do not have to deal with the hassle and the mess of trying to bathe my dog at home! I also really get scared of cutting dog nails, so that's another bonus for me! The only thing that sucks for me is that they close every Sunday and Monday and those are the 2 days that I always have off. I recommend coming here, and I will continue to take my dog here. I have another coworker who also takes his dog here and he really likes it too. They take both cash and card.

I cheated on Doggie Mat and it nearly cost my dog his eyesight. My pups were in desperate need for a groom and I wasn't patient enough to wait a week. I called a more local groomer (I live in Jurupa Valley) and my dog left their shop with scratched corneas. Those so-called groomers refuse to pony up the vet costs and are claiming, now after the fact, that my dog was aggressive. Doggie Mat, who has been grooming my pup for years has never hurt my baby. They love him and his brother like they are their own. They also keep meticulous records, and surprise, surprise, my dog has never once been aggressive with them. Give these people your money! Took my best friend in yesterday... And they did a great job. He was so handsome when I picked him up! Very very happy! My little guy is very old. I've had him for 17 years and he was full grown when he stumbled into my life. So I had a lot of concerns about him sitting at a groomer for a long day. They took great care of him and got him in and out relatively quickly. And he looked great too! read more

Tara has been grooming since she was a young girl and her love for animals comes through in her work -- a chosen career where one is entrusted with anothers pet. You must love animals to be able to do that. Doggie Matt is a simple shop. Quaint if you ask me. They even offer DIY bathing with tubs waist high for ease and comfort. Shampoo and towels too, but check me on that. It's nice to see some one invest in quality, high-end "tools" vs the esthetics of the shop is comforting. Let the photos speak for themselves. All subjects are beautiful, calm and docile, not wide-eyed and scared. Give The Doggie Mat a try! read more

I can't say enough great things about this place. The staff is so friendly and they always do such a great a job on Joaquin and on my sister's poodles. I found out about this place when my sister started bringing in her Chinese crested (which was about 15 years ago!) to get groomed here and had she not started grooming her herself, she would still be coming in! Doggie mat has been the only place to have never nicked her or left her with razor burn. When I got Joaquin I knew this was the place to go because they always did so good with her Chinese crested. I trust Doggie mat completely and I highly recommend them. I live about 30 minutes away but the drive is always worth it because I know Joaquin is in good hands. read more

My fiancé took our 2 little Maltese dogs here. We chose to look for a new place after our old dog groomer said they had to raise their prices for our dogs because they were "fidgety"...but dogs are supposed to be fidgety! Lol Anyway, my fiancé dropped them off and the staff seemed friendly and caring. They recommended a "teddy bear" cut as the standard Maltese cut, so that's what our "doghters" got. When the fiancé arrived for pick up, one of our dogs recognized his voice and got excited and kept barking. The staff was so cute and said to our dog, "somebody knows Daddy's here." Haha! Paid $40 per dog and they both looked and smelled good. They put a bow on their collar. Other places put bows on their ears, which was always a pain to remove because the rubber bands always got snagged. Our "doghters" will be back! read more

So prices went up! I was charged even more this time because they said my dog was too matted but I have always taken him the same way and they cut off my Schnauzer's mustache!!! Who does that? Never have I had the mustache chopped off. May not go here again because I used to drive all the way because it was cheap and they did a good job but they charged me more and just chopped off all the hair so no Schnauzer cut but with the price of a schnauzer cut. Hmmm.... To your response, maybe more communication would have been all that was needed... nobody told me that I was being given a discount and nobody mentioned anything about him being too matted that he needed to be shaven down to the skin... I have taken him several times before the same way... communication is key so you still are at fault and you still get a bad review. Sorry! read more

I take my kitty here to get bathed and his nails clipped because he won't ever let me do it myself. I'm not sure how Doggie Mat manages to take care of my cat so well, especially since he is usually aggressive. They just know how to treat pets and are always gentle with them. read more

I have taken our dog there a handful of times, and love the staff and the way our dog is groomed. I made an appointment for 10 am today, got there before 10, didn't get my dog back until 4 pm. That's way to long for a grooming appointment. When I asked if this was the common time window I was told an appointment only ensures that your dog will be groomed that day. It's first come first serve basis.. so basically appointment times don't matter. Although I think the staff is awesome, my dog should not be at a groomers for 6 hours. Won't be going back read more

DOGGIE MAT is the kind, knowledgeable, and a pets friend. Our two yellow labs: Ike and Tillie love going to Doggie Mat. They were just there today, April 18th, 2019 for their Easter pampering. The best in Chino! Thanks for always doing a great job! My girls always look and smell perfect. They are also willing to give you tips to help you maintain a longer coat with some nice suggestions. I'll not forget the day they took my girls in a super busy day....stayed late and to to top it off at the end of the day the owner bent down to give my pup an extra bit of love on the way out. I recently took my two fur babies here. My brother in law used to groom them but not anymore so I was a bit nervous on taking them somewhere foreign. They hate being in unknown spaces. I truly love taking my dog here. The staff are so professional, kind, and courteous! I believe I have been bringing my poodle mix here for almost 6 years. He always looks and smells great after getting a wonderful groom from Doggie Mat. One thing that I appreciate is that I always receive professional and warm customer service. I know that I am not the best at making regular appointments and sometimes my dog will come in looking a mess (and I own up to that and understand that I may have to pay more due to my lack of diligence as a dog owner) but regardless of how my dog looks, the folks here have always been so kind and treated me and my dog so well. I refuse to go anywhere else and recommend everyone I know to go to Doggie Mat! Thanks so much for all you do and for making my dog so beautiful! read more

Took my almost 2 year old pit-lab today. He came out smelling and looking amazing! First time here and the prices are pretty good. My pup had a bath and brush, along with that they cleaned his ears and anal glands. Also trimmed his nails and I added teeth brushing and the extra de-shedding. Paid $50 which isn't too pricy, very reasonable to me. If I didn't add the de-shedding and teeth brushing it would have been around $35. He even came out with a cute little bandanna. Overall great experience and he was done in 2 hrs! Arrived at 8:30am and got the call around 10:30am he was ready for pick up. read more

I've been taking my mixed Taco there for 5 years and my previous mixed Taco (RIP) for 5 years before that. The best thing I can say about this little company is that they are always super busy. It's 1:30pm and my wife is trying to make an appointment via phone. Their voice mailbox is already full. We know this business, and that is a perfect example of why this business is sooooo busy... they're really that gooooood! By the end of the day all messages will be converted to appointments and tomorrow will bring on an onslaught of customers bringing in their fluffy friends for a bath, nails, hair-do, and facial. In over 10 years, I've never been disappointed by this business. read more

So happy I found this place! I have a Newfoundland who's almost 3 years old and he weighs 130lbs, so I've always had difficulty finding a groomer who can groom large dogs and groom them well... until I found Doggie Mat. It looks like a "mom and pop" shop which I love and they definitely give you that one on one customer service. They also have so many options/packages. We did a full bath with a trim, nails, ears, anal glands, added on a flea medication (he came from doggy day care so wanted to make sure!), and some dental work. I love that there's no pressure to immediately pick your dog up allowing you time to run around and do your other errands. When I picked him up he looked so handsome and smelled wonderful he was tired of me hugging him lol. We will definitely be returning! Their prices are also VERY affordable especially coming from a large dog mom. Thank you Doggie Mat! read more

Brought my Morkie to Doggie Mat and I don't believe I'll return. When I walked into the place, it rubbed me the wrong way. I smelled urine... ick!! Sure! It's a pet grooming place, but I've been to other places that DO NOT smell like that. The lady that greeted me was nice, so I guess I felt ok leaving my dog there. Four hours later, we received the call that our doggie was ready, so my husband went to get her. Well, when my husband arrived home with her I wasn't thrilled. My doggie walked in smelling as if she wasn't bathed and she had a bunch of loose dog hair all over her. I really hate that! I was completely disappointed. Definitely not worth the $35 I paid. I'd much rather spend more at the other local dog groomer, where I'm confident that she was bathed because she always smells good. I should've run the other direction the moment I walked in and smelled pee. read more

although the parking situation sucks, this is the only place that i would trust with my dogs. They are reasonably priced for a full service groom (about 40 for my cockers), always friendly, and they are always nice to the dogs. Someone recomended this place to me and now i will never go anywhere else. when my dogs come out, they look and smell great! read more

They already have his usual on file, so I can just text and request "the usual" without having to re-explain everything each time. Gibby is usually pretty calm during the grooming, and the groomers handle him well. His "waiting room" is separated from the grooming area, probably to avoid stressing cats out with all the dogs there too? A full groom usually takes about 3-4 hours, which seems normal for the service. And, after the service he always comes back smelling so fresh and his eyes squinting like he's trying to stay awake after a nice spa treatment. This time I noticed they offer a blueberry facial for cats, so I added that on too. Gibby seemed fine with it, and it was a nice little extra on top of the usual routine. Price is reasonable, especially compared to other groomers we've tried. We keep coming back and don't plan on switching anytime soon!

I bring my small dog here for grooming every month and im very satisfied with the services they provide. My dog gets the works each time and is greeted with a ton of love when we walk in the door. The person who does the check ins actually knows my dog so well she gets down on the floor to greet her and Give her kisses! Love the doggie mat. I being both my water shy German Sheppard and my long haired cat. They both do great here! My Shepard gets the oatmeal shampoo which helps her skin for being to dry so she doesnt get itchy, they also help her with her extra fur. She comes back looking so pretty and i get a week off of vacuuming!. My cat gets her fur cleaned up and we shave her tummy hair in the summer when it gets to long. I love doggie mat. They replaced our old dog groomer that moved to Florida. The staff is friendly and they do a good job on my dogs. Especially pulga who I know can be a hassle. He is a dog that doesn't like to be bothered and they seem to have patience with him. The price is good too. I always pay less than $100 for both dogs haircut and they go when they are in great need of a haircut. My poodle usually has a lot of knots. Other groomers would charge me over $120 to start. The price was affordable and they were vary caring with our dog "angel". They even gave us some advice on some things to feed our dog. A great place to take your loved animal for some grooming. I did notice that they were watching YouTube videos on how to groom dogs when they arrived, which was a big red flag but we continued anyway which was our mistake. When they did the ear hair plucking, they did it completely incorrect. Our puppy ended up in pain for almost a whole week and took a whole month to fully heal. Her inner ears were so red and bloody. We had to deal with her having an infection and constantly needing to clean pus from her ears. Needless to say we never booked again. We did find a new, professional dog groomer and she loved it! They did amazing. Will definitely give that info to anyone who may need it :)
