Harley LOVES going to the resort! They have a spacious indoor area as well as an amazing backyard with shade everywhere. They have webcams setup inside and out so you can get on your doggo whenever. I've never had an issue with these guys - Harley is always happy when I pick him up. Highly recommend. read more

The employees at Dogs Rule in Carrolton are miserable - don't ever trust them with your dog. Unfortunately our dog was bitten by other dogs and had to go to the hospital. We gave them one more chance and it was an absolute disaster. Their employees are rude and don't care about their customers. Stay away from this place!!! read more

DONT RECOMMEND I'm saddened to give this place a bad review. After a few years of using them for own dogs and rescue dogs from my home I must say we are done. On March 21st we picked up our 4 dogs that were boarded there for 9 days (over 1k stay). As soon as we picked them up we noticed 2 of the dogs were vomiting not even getting into our car. We asked the employees and they said they "hadn't seen anything like this during the stay". We brush it off thinking they drank too much water. Later in the morning after picking up the same 2 dogs started having diarrhea all over the house and yard. We started to get more concerned and called the boarding facility which they said they hadn't seen anything nor did they know anything. We call our vet and explain what is going on and they said to give them a few days of a chicken and rice diet and see if they improve. Not even that afternoon we notice they don't want to eat at all, continue to vomit and diarrhea. We continue to try and call DRR and we can't seem to get an answer from them about anything. Calling 2-3 times a day to get updates and no answers. About 6 days go by of us dealing with this 1 of the 2 dogs starts getting better and starts eating more chicken and rice while the other only will drink. At this point the vet told us to bring the sicker dog in. After $700 in vet bills they tell us he was most likely poisoned while at boarding. I call them to try and get answers on maybe what they even use for cleaning the yard or the kennels and still no one has a single answer. They say the GM or owner will give us a call and bow it's been 4 weeks of this battle and nothing. Second dog is doing better but was borderline dead. Medications, xrays, and vet visit ran us so much money and the boarding facility had nothing to say for themselves and still haven't. I don't recommend anymore and will be looking for a new place read more

The only reason I'm giving three stars instead of five, is they really need to work on communication. When my dogs get bitten and jumped on by other dogs, I'd like a phone call! I wondered why my dog was waiting by the door, I assumed she was ready to go back outside. I pick her up and they tell me she was bitten by another dog!! Other than that, staff seems great. Absolutely terrible, the staff are absolutely terrible people, the front desk girl as soon as I arrive is absolutely rude and snarky, it looks unclean and a mess. We boarded our 2 dogs here for a couple of days while we were out of town, and being new to TX, we took a gamble on going with Dogs Rule because of all of the positive Yelp reviews. I must say, DR was pretty good. The beginning was a bit rocky. We filled out the form online and Dawn soon after emailed us. I felt like I had to ask A LOT of questions, many of which either weren't answered on the website or were a bit vague online. Dawn answered them, but I wish that info was already provided. Every 'dog resort' does things differently and I think that was forgotten at times. Nonetheless, we were squared away for our pups' arrival. Drop off was ridiculously quick. Within minutes of entering, our dogs were already being ushered away to get acquainted with their new environment -- it all happened so fast I don't think I even realized I handed over the leashes! I really loved that Dawn took the time to jot down feeding instructions for both dogs, behavioral quirks, etc. It made me feel assured that they were going to be okay in someone else's hands. The cameras were a wonderful bonus. Of course, my dogs would sit just within the cameras' blind spots so I could only see their ears at times, but they seemed to enjoy themselves. One thing I didn't like, however, was the quantity of dogs in 1 area. I counted upwards of 20 maybe 25 dogs in one of the playpens that looked (again, looked!) suitable for a max of 8 dogs. There wasn't space to run, lounge around, etc. They were a bit crammed -- at least on the small/medium dog side. Pickup was a breeze; no complaints there. My dogs seemed tired and happy to be home. I will note that they were quite itchy for a few days afterwards. We immediately gave them baths when we got home because they felt a bit grungy, but even after, I noticed a bit of scratching behind the ear that wasn't as frequent as before we dropped them off. They're both on flea preventatives, so I don't know what was up with that. Again, a few days later, they stopped scratching. Overall, I think this is a great facility run by people who truly love and care about animals. But, I think in the future, we'll look for something with a larger play area for our pups -- our personal preference. read more

Do not recommend if you love your pets. The cameras are wonderful for watching your dog well at daycare. I was able to see my dog bitten twice by the same dog. (Employees didn't see anything either time?) They play it off as no big deal "dogs will be dogs". You will sign a release that you are responsible for vet bills if your dog bites another. But that will not be the case if your baby is bitten. Once you have a complaint, they are cold as ice. read more

Love the cameras. They seem to take pretty good care of the dogs. The staff is helpful and takes good care of them on camera. But, talking to Dawn often escalates into an episode of Monty Python's Argument Clinic. I'll agree with her on something and she takes an argumentive stance and won't let it go. We take our own dogs around the corner. But, we have to deal with this facility when friend's are out of town. read more

Long overdue but we have been taking our dogs here for about 2 years and love it! We have used several other places in the metroplex, from Irving to Carrollton to Frisco, and this is the best place. Everyone is super nice, knows us all by name and our pups are always exhausted when they come home. They are dying to get there when we go and they are bouncy and happy when we pick them up. I have to also say that I read the reviews below before posting and although there are some negative comments, every place will have them, there's not another place I trust more than the folks here to watch over them with care and love. 5 wet kisses all the way around from us! read more

Use to come here all the time but moved away to Allen/MCKinney. When I decided to go out of town, I immediately called Dogs Rule to watch my pups. I was Excited they had room. I love watching my babies on camera when they are outside. My little one is getting spoiled by the dog attendee holding her all the time (which is fine with me). We have been looking to try out daycare for our puppy so she isn't locked up all day while we are at work. I wish I could tell you how the treated her but we never got the chance. First whoever i spoke to on the phone was rude and that should have been my first sign but my husband said lets go try it out. We show up and NO ONE greets us. We say hello, walk around, and still no one. but what makes it more frustrating is that they saw us pull up! The place was run down and smelled nasty too. My puppy is very loving, we take her to the dog park, she plays with other people and she didn't seem herself as soon as we walked in. She started scratching at the door to leave. I had to rate this place with one star to post my review, but I would give it a negative 5 stars if I could. I had a horrible experience while boarding my dog at Dog's Rule. I was contacted by the groomer to tell me that she had found that my dog had a puncture womb on his neck. They offered to take him to the vet; but, I immediately drove home from Austin to see about his welfare since they explained that it was not life threatening. Upon arrival, I learned that he had been bitten in the soft part of his throat. And to make matters worse, it was a medium to large dog bite. My dog was only 15 pounds, so I am not sure why he would have been exposed to a larger or more aggressive dog. And, how did he received such a violent and serious injury to his neck without anyone observing it. I learned from my vet that it was a very serious womb, and it cost me over $400 to treat it. I was very lucky that the other dog did not tear the artery which would have been fatal. I immediately called the GM Dawn who was very sympathetic; however, they were never able to explain how or why it happened. No one of their staff saw my dog being attacked. And worst of all, they never offered to pay for my vet expense OR refund me my boarding. How scary and disappointing that I could not trust my dog to be safe while in their care. And that they had such little concern for me as a customer. read more

On our first visit to dogs rule resort my 6month old 50lb chocolate lab was worn out &I loved that I could check up on her with the webcams they have set up online. Once I took her home she went right to sleep but I had noticed a little rash above her right eye, it looked red and inflamed and like she had been scratching. Not thinking anything of it I took my dog back a few days later.. I let the people at the front desk know about the spot on her eye and my worries they said they would clean it and keep an eye on it. Since it was a Friday they had a special for bubble baths so I decide my pup could use one. Once I picked her up 6 hours later she was happy as can be but as the night progressed she became lethargic and her left eye had become extremely swollen, then she started throwing up multiple times. That was one of the worst nights of my life. We called dogs rule resort a few days later and they said there was a bug going around the prior week and she could have caught it and we would need to just wait it out, or she could have gotten stung by a bee when playing outside. I understand none of this could have been prevented but after 2 trips and having her come home with the rash leading to the allergic reaction and stomach bug.. We will not be going back. read more

I can't say enough good things about this place. My dog doesn't really play with other dogs, he'd rather play with people. The people here always do such a nice job ticketing him out. I love that they are open on Sunday so we can pick him up after a weekend away and not wait till Monday when we have kids, work, school, etc.... read more

I went to this location as a first time customer for my medium sized dog (38 pounds) they couldn't find my online application via their website and then I was denied service to which they said the area that he would play in was "too packed and they don't want to overwhelm the other dogs" by I guess adding my dog.....ONE more to the other 5 dogs in that large play area. I looked through the fence and via their webcam online...there was plenty of room, yet the area for the bigger dogs had at least 20+ dogs....it was PACKED which I mentioned that to them but I guess those dogs are not overwhelmed bumping into each other. SMH With poor customer service like this, I'll count it as a blessing that my money nor my furry friend need not be there. read more

I bring my pup Bach here often for both daycare and boarding. They offer CLEAN and AFFORDABLE cage free daycare outside when the weather is nice and there arre weB cams you can log into to see your pup. My dog is a very sensitive rescue and this is the first place we have found he isn't nervous when arriving But rather so excited to go play and even stay overnight. AND he never comes home smelling like pee. Daycare is included with boarding which is also hard to find!! Dawn and the staff here are SO caring and fantastic! I have been taking my dog Roscoe to Dogs Rule for 2 months now. He is a black lab that needs a lot of attention and time to play while I am at work. Dogs Rule has been the BEST solution ever!! I was hesitant in putting him in everyday, but after seeing how well he has done I know it was the BEST decision. The staff is AMAZING!! -- not to name other names but this is the 4th daycare I have taken Roscoe to. The previous ones, complained of his high energy level, size (he is a 100b black lab), one continually called and nicknamed him "Casanova" (even after I expressed issue with this) and one daycare even called him "toy possessive". HE'S A DOG!! ---NOT Dogs Rule, they have done nothing short of treat Roscoe as their own pet. It is nice to know he is spending the day with people that enjoy him being there and GENUNILY want to play with him. I did have one minor hiccup at the daycare (NOT Dos Rule fault, another pet aggresion issue). And I can say from personal experience, that they also do AMAZING when something not so great happens. Dawn, the manager, went ABOVE AND BEYOND to help with the incident and assure me that Roscoe was loved and well taken care of. She even takes time to tell me about how he is growing and adapting, and has his two best friends he plays with regularly. (They REALLY take the time to care and understand each pets needs!!) I can not say enough AMAZING things about this daycare, or the LOVE, ATTENTION, and CARE they take, of each and EVERY pet!! I will continue to take Roscoe to Dogs Rule Resort EVERY day, knowing that it is not a punishment, but a TREAT for him every day!! And, without fail everyday we arrive he is greeted and welcomed, KNOWN & LOVED by each and every member of their staff. (ALL of which greet me, my boyfriend AND ROSCOE personally every day). Alright, Dog's Rule just pushed over 5 stars with me this week. I was home recovering from surgery and Hemingway was tweaked like a dog on meth. He wouldn't sit down, he was pacing all over the house, constantly panting...I thought about opening the door and just letting him run. Unfortunately, if I did that, he would never return. (Oh and it's against the law!!) So I called up Dog's Rule and asked if they had a pick up service - they did. For only $15 they will come pick up your doggie and take him to the place of his dreams - their day care facility. I was thrilled that Dawn was just so understanding and accommodating! They were at my door less than 10 mins after I hung up the phone. W hen I picked him up (I felt better later in the evening) he was exhausted. He was down for the count by 7 p.m. I'm thankful that Dog's Rule was able to help me out during a time I was in great need. They are thoughtful and considerate and I could not be happier with their customer service!! read more

The owners are very kind and seem to care about your pet. Unfortunately upon return, my pet had numerous soars on his body. He also seemed really exhausted and lethargic for several days after staying. I don't believe I will be using them again. I have used dog kennels at several nearby vet offices and never had an issue. I did a ton of research and tried out lots of different places for daycare and boarding. This was by far the best. It's located close to Willow Bend Mall at Hebron/Marsh with 3000 sq feet of indoor, air conditioned play area & 8000 sq feet of play area outside. The dogs have scheduled playtime and naptime instead of just being put in one big room all day long. Daycare is $20 per day, $15 for a half day. As far as boarding, they are not in kennels or dog runs, but little rooms with beds. Rates are based on size and include daycare. Grooming rates are also based on size are very competitive. They also have webcams on their site so you can check on your dog. read more

Dawn and Courtney, along with the rest of the staff, do a fantastic job at DogsRuleResort. We have been taking our rescue dog, Bella, there for about a year both for daycare (2-3 days/week) and boarding (3-4 times/year). She looks very forward to the treat she gets at the end of each day of daycare and playing with her good friends out on the playground. They are very patient with all the dogs, especially our rambunctious Pyrenees. You can tell that the staff really love each of the dogs. Dawn even has nicknames for a lot of the dogs that frequent. If you have a pet with special needs, they have the experience and knowledge how to deal with it. I was thinking about bringing my dog to Dog Rule Resort since last Christmas and I noticed the cameras are always turned off on major holidays. If the cameras are broke down then why are they broke down on every major holiday. It makes me suspicious about what employees are doing behind the turned off cameras, so I decided to bring my pup to a different boarding facility. This review is long long over due. This kennel was recommended so I boarded my dog there several years ago, while we were on a week vacation. Towards the end of the vacation I got a call from them that there had been an accident. My dogs side had been ripped open. They said they didn't know if another dog had attacked her or she ran into something in the yard. Can you imagine my horror? I was on a road trip and drove straight back to the kennel, but it took a couple of days. This is the kennel that boasts that they watch your dog either in person or on camera. And they say they didn't know what happened to my dog? Too bad they don't have Minus Stars here. read more
