Food is still exceptional. However the service was terrible and made it an unpleasant experience. The place was not busy at all- a few tables. The waitress went to the two tables beside us to refill water, ask how things were, ask for check. She was so attentive and kind to the 3 other tables around us, noticeably so, but completely ignored me and my husband. We had to flag down someone else to even ask for our check. Thank goodness, a decent Thai place that's not all the way in DC. My husband is a true Thai food critic (whether deserved or not, though he did live in Thailand for years). He can spot Americanized Thai dishes from a mile away. After looking at some pictures however, we decided Dok Khao looked promising. Luckily, our hunch was right. Food was tasty and came promptly. I was always afraid of Thai and spicy food. Had our first meal here tonight. Excellent food ! Spice is totally up to you. Extensive menu with lots of choice. I had sesame ginger beef. Very good. Place is beautiful ! Tom Yum was very good ! The cry baby noodles wasn't what I expected, mushy and super sweet( you might think otherwise) the siam chicken was a 10/10 just a lil sweet. Server was not attentive at all she's not helping the company or even herself out to get a good tip she's just there to take orders and that's it. Their website says they do not take reservations on Fridays or Saturdays, however be aware they do not take reservations for Sundays either ! They are willing to accommodate if you call them the morning of and let them know how many people are in your party and what time you'll be there :) - this is what I did for a birthday lunch with friends on a Sunday and we waited only a few minutes upon arrival before being seated. Interior is gorgeous and clean - I love the wood tables and pastel green cabinets with bright bar and lots of floral and herbal accents everywhere ! Food was hot and delicious with lots of flavor, drinks were tangy and aesthetically pleasing the way they were presented. Really good Thai Food. I took my 10yr old and it was his first time having Thai. He had the shrimp pad Thai and though we concluded he didn't like Thai he crushed the shrimp. I tasted his noodles and they were good. Not too spicy or sweet. I had owners special. It was as the server advertised, a good balance of spiciness and sweetness. I usually get a mix of shrimp and chicken but went w the pork offering and it was good. We also had the healthy rolls w chicken, which my son didn't like. The accompanying peanut sauce made the rolls delicious. I actually mixed a roll in my pad Thai. The service was good. We never had to ask for refills. They used a team approach to serving so we never waited on anything. We had a main server and he was ok but if it was not for the team approach I would have had concerns. The atmosphere was nice. For starters they apparently have a happy hour that you have to verbally request. My server did not mention this to me and it's not any where on the website that you have to request it. So my date and I started ordering from what the website stated as happy hour not thinking anything of it. We ordered spring and summer rolls and 1 drink. My date ordered a drink and it never arrived. Food was good but thinking that we were ordering off the happy hour menu we didn't actually pick what we wanted for appetizers. The bill came and it was $82! Scary! considering the drinks and appetizers were supposed to be max $8 each and we both got red and yellow curry as an entree($17). When I brought this to the staff they told me that it was my fault that I didn't request for happy hour. I've never been to a restaurant where you have to verbally ask for happy hour. Then they showed me a little sign saying happy hour and said "you have to ask for it" this sign was not on our table. Our waitress never mentioned it to us. Had she we would have known and just gotten what we wanted. I'm so glad I finally tried this place - Pad Thai pork Very good. Just what a pad Thai should be. Sweet and tangy. The pork is actually tender and bouncy. Not hard and dry. The noodles are soft and coated with pad Thai sauce. I like it a lot - Tom Kha Hit the spot. Sour and spicy. Yummy. It's a bit pricier than other places but the portion is bigger so I am not mad - Nam Tok Beef Sour spicy beef salad. It's good! And it comes with a side of sticky rice ! Beef were tender. Yum! The food was fine but unfortunately I had a terrible experience with them fraudulently charging my card for more than I signed for, hence the one star. My partner and I came for dinner, and I had the spicy tilapia mango sauce and he had the the lychee duck curry. The tilapia was decent, but my partner said some of the cuts of his duck weren't the best. When it came time to pay, the total bill pre-tip was $73. I asked if I could put $25 on one card (corporate card for my job), and the rest on the another (personal). They agreed and brought two receipts. I tipped $0 on the corporate card, and 25% on my personal to make up for it. 25% of $43 ($73 - $25, the amount that went on my personal) is $12, so ~16% of the total bill, which I did not feel was particularly stingy considering we saw our server maybe twice. When the charge on my corporate card posted, they charged it $30. I called and had to speak to the manager, who found my receipt and said they rounded up because I didn't tip. I guess the receipts got separated, and I told them that I split the bill and tipped on the other receipt. They agree to refund it, and at least were very easy to deal with. I understand that servers rely on tips to survive, but a) I did tip - they should've accounted for that, and b) if the owners are concerned enough about servers making a living wage that they'll round up tips, they should just pay a living wage and build the prices into their menu and go tip-free. At the end of the day, charging me more than I agreed for is fraudulent and I absolutely will not return. read more

Decent Thai restaurant in Woodbridge. Pricing is high. They're usually very busy. They need to add more veggie dishes. They're pretty good about letting U change up recipes. One complaint: They have a 1-person bathroom for women & 1-person room for men. U can wait quite awhile when they're busy. I have eaten here several times as my family likes it. I'm always hungry after eating here. But, that's true when I eat Chinese food, too. U will feel more full if U order appetizers & main courses. It's more expensive, but you're not hungry an hour later. They have a few good desserts. Again, they are pricey. It's def a good place to try. Woodbridge has few decent eateries. Dok Khao is the cutest little restaurant in Woodbridge! It's well-designed and located in an ideal spot in a busy shopping area. And it doesn't hurt that their food is super good! I've had their food twice - dined in once and had takeout once. Both times, their drunken noodles hit the spot. I think I love them again. I always felt the portion size relative to pricing was off, but lately I noticed Door Dashing also affected their food quality. I stopped in to solo dine one weekday after a long day at work. The indoor crowd was light and service was quick. This place really is quirky and beautifully decorated. I ordered a lychee martini, street noodles and mango sticky rice. Everything was superb, served piping hot and seasoned to perfection. I didn't feel rushed, my water stayed full and the waitress was attentive. I went here at night and it was packed. The drinks were amazing I got something with lychee and I loved it. It's so easy to drink here because they all taste so good, gotta be careful. it's easy to rack up a tab because it has like ~artisan~ drink pricing which I think matches the quality of the drinks to be fair. At least they make it make sense unlike some restaurants in Woodbridge outside of the Stonebridge area. When I went I sort of laughed to myself because I feel myself getting older since I thought "isn't this music a bit loud?" which is totally an old people sentiment. Although there are much worse places in Woodbridge that don't even have the atmosphere to make it work. This place makes it work though. I got the impression this it's a very "hip" and "happening" location and I think it fits in nicely with the Stonebridge roster. The food was so amazing it was such a treat. The price may indeed be high BUT they have portions to match and you're almost guaranteed to have leftovers you can't finish. So I technically got two meals out of dinner haha. I got one of the specials that's like a Pad See Ew with a twist (I don't remember the nickname it had, something like crybaby noodles? I do remember it felt just a little bit silly ordering the name but not in a negative way) I found the noodle dish to be rather decadent and certainly a treat to eat. At least compared to other Thai restaurants I've been to in Manassas, Springfield, Centerville, Fairfax. My old go-to for Thai was Sisters Thai but that place is very small and Fairfax is a bit of a drive away and parking is harder. Since this is in Stonebridge I don't see it being possible to run out of parking. I have always found parking within a block of the restaurant, and there's a huge parking lot with access to the restaurant on the backside if there isn't street parking out front/ if you prefer not to street park. Parking in the lot also means you don't have to worry about passerby watching you struggle to park. There is a sort of community lawn area right outside, perfect for just chilling out after dinner if you want to linger and spend some time before heading home. I like that theres plenty in the area to do if you're the responsible type that chooses to wait out the alcohol before driving home. In the nearby walkable area, there are also signs displaying community events. read more

The interior decor was toward cozy, but the table is a little too tiny and close to each other. You are expected no reasonable of privacy about your conversation with your friends in here. The room noise can be very loud. Parking is easy in this area, but avoid park on the main strip and both end. There were many drivers don't have any idea how to park their truck or minivan. First of all, the decor and ambiance is beautiful! They really made the space welcoming with the design of the whole place. I like a lot of the cocktails they have here as well. I am very picky when it comes to Thai food. Most Thai food, restaurants and Vietnamese like have a very mom and Pop feel. There are not many places that focus on aesthetics flavor and environment. I have to say this place stays true to all three. The place is very clean and the service is phenomenal. When I go, I don't normally have one server all of the staff pays attention to your table. I think this is a rare type of service to have typically it's just one server doing everything. With maybe other servers in the back, assisting the one, but it's never a team of two or three assisting one table. I have had a majority of everything on the menu, and the flavors are just spot on and very authentic and true to Thai food cuisine . I love the drunken noodle and pad Thai. This is typically where I begin to rate a Thai restaurant. The flavors are both spot on with savory and sweet (if you can handle it) and heat in the mix. First the Dok Khao Pad Thai is perfectly prepared with sliced pork and chopped peanuts finishing the spices with a special deliciousness. The Crabmeat Fried Rice is loaded with lump crabmeat And not the imitation kind either. Hangover Lo Mein has scallops, shrimp, mussels, and squid all bathed in a nice spicey sinus clearing sauce.
