I came hoping to try a matcha crepe cake slice that I've been craving from their social media but only mango was available in the display case. Alright, no problem! I bought a tiramisu dream rolled ice cream instead and was excited to try it. From yelp photos, I thought it would come with a slice of cheesecake and the menu itself also has cheesecake with mocha. So I was disappointed when my order arrived without the cheesecake!! And on top of that, the mocha ice cream tasted like banana in some parts. From looking at other yelp photos, I found some tiramisu dreams looked like mine and others had cheesecake. The inconsistency irritates me. I was not impressed by the mocha/banana flavor but the presentation was nice and the portion was plentiful, could definitely be shared by two people. I also got to try a taiyaki with custard filling, which I would recommend over rolled ice cream. The ice cream flavors are more limited but the portion and price is much better for an individual. With covid-19, they have hand sanitizers for customer use and a few tables available for indoor seating. There's also an outdoor patio. They are card-only, no cash. The place looked clean and cute. This is one of those places that I wanted to love. I really did want to love it but it fell short on my expectations. Let me start from the beginning. Parking. Or lack thereof. I had read that the parking was kind of a mess but it was worse than I expected. I pulled in to the little alley to the side of the building to be greeted with "NO PARKING" signs every where. We saw what we thought was parking behind the building but we we trapped and couldn't get to the parking lot without going back to the main road, turning right, flipping a U turn, going to the next light and turning around again just to come back and hope for a place to park. Not worth the time or stress of fighting SL traffic. I ended up pulling in to a spot and telling my teenage daughter to sit in the car and move if anyone confronts her. Luckily, that didn't happen. I ran inside to get some crepe cake to go. We planned on eating inside but that didn't happen because of the parking. I walked in and while the shop was cute, nothing says "welcome to our shop!" better than a person less counter and a screen to order on. I looked around for an employee, hoping someone would greet me and answer any questions I had. I did have a few but no luck. No one came to the counter. I placed my order on the giant screen and moved to the side. I wasn't sure if that's what I needed to do or not. Finally, a girl came out from the back. She had a receipt showing my order which had obviously printed in the back. She asked my name and I told her. She then started to box up my order. She was nice enough but our interaction already felt awkward since it was mostly electronic. She handed me the box with the three pieces of cake and we left. We sat in the car and tried the three different flavors of cake. We got the strawberry, Oreo and passion fruit. The passion fruit was the winner for everyone. Very good. The Oreo was next and then the strawberry. We all felt like the strawberry fell short on flavor. It almost had a banana-y taste to it. Kind weird. The cakes were very beautiful and I can see the draw to these. Three pieces of the crepe cake cost me around $28. Was it fun to try? Yes. Was it tasty? Yes. Would I rave to my friends about it? No. Would I go back? Possibly. I would like to go back and try their Japanese pancakes. All in all, it was ok. Maybe a 6/10. read more

Doki doki was such a treat to visit. I discovered them on Instagram and knew I had to try them out. I want to point out that everything is beautiful AND tastes good. The first time I went, my friends and I arrived later in the evening, so they were sold out of most items on their menu. I hear they make everything fresh, and I'm not surprised they sell out because everything was delicious. I decided to go with the meadow crepe. I went again to try the taiyaki, blossom crepe, and fluffy pancakes. There hasn't been anything that I haven't liked from Doki Doki. I'm not a big fan of matcha, but the meadow crepe was delightful and didn't have any of the bitterness that matcha can have. I loved that they had the more unique Asian flavors that aren't as popular here in Utah like ube. However, if that isn't your cup of tea, you will find lots of options for more familiar American flavors like cookies and cream, so it caters to different tastes. Their service was wonderful, but I do not recommend coming here if you are in a hurry. They make everything from scratch and to order...and there is ALWAYS a line, so plan accordingly because it is 100% worth it. I also want to give a shout out to their staff because their staff were super nice with great customer service skills. They're innovative and constantly working to level up their menu. Definitely my favorite dessert place in Utah! We've ordered Doki Doki for birthdays, graduation, and when I just needed a treat! My fav item on their menu is their passion fruit crepe cake. It is so light, airy, and delicate with just the right amount of crunch from the passion fruit seeds. Their Wisteria crepe is also to die for. Came to Salt Lake City for a show related to anime and other stuff and decided to to head to this place before the trip because it was anime related and wanted to see what was up. I came in and they have a self check out thing similar to the one at McDonald. They had a few selection but my guess is that the had few options to keep the quality high and it lived up to my expectations. Within minutes of ordering I got my iced Oreo latte and I forgot chocolate pastry thing. The vibe was so good and there is complementary water. They have a little place with tiny tables and hard wood floor to sit in with cushions. They played anime openings and endings plus some vocaloid and J-pop on a little simple that was not too loud and not too low either. The staff were so friendly! I came yesterday on a Saturday when it was raining out sound and it was fairly busy but not too busy where there isn't any tables or gets loud. The men's restroom is cleanly and smells nice. As someone who has successfully made crepe cakes and had lady M cakes, I attest to the value of their cakes and it's actually quite underpriced in my opinion!!! The cakes are absolutely stunning and scrumptious, not as heavy of a cake in terms of sweetness but the whipped cream frosting is heavenly with each layer and bite. They have the cutest decorations, seating area, and staff are friendly and timely with cleaning up and helping out. Keep in mind: they do sell out of stuff and they do have longer wait times, perfection is not achieved by warming up something premade, everything is from scratch and made after you order! Also, parking is a bit shady at night so don't go alone and do yourself a favor, go in the early afternoon with friends to get the full experience. Major Disappointment Came here Saturday evening to try the Japanese fluffy pancakes. Every menu item was sold out except for the crepes. We ordered crepes and waited 30 minutes for our food. We drove from Ogden to SLC to try this place out. We get there and there's no place to park as it is located in downtown. There was a line to the door so that was a great sign. When finally inside we look around and see only 1 thing on the menu and the other (crepe cakes) which we came for said it is unavailable to buy unless you have preordered it. At the front we see a sign that says 20 min for a crepe or fluffy pancake, 45 min for taiyaki. There were 6 of us so we began to order and the girl informed us that they make everything on the spot and one at a time so it would take about 4 hours for our order to be done. Not possible seeing as how she knew they closed in 3 hours...How SHAMEFUL. Do they really think people carve out that amount of time to come and eat dessert? I was done with it at that point and we all left as it was becoming very crowded again. We left without getting anything. No where is it advertised LARGE ENOUGH that customers should preorder ahead because of the long wait time! And that the crepe is completely unavailable if you come IN to the store in person. This needs to be more clear. My mother was so disappointed as she really was looking forward to trying their items! They do look really good and we will of course try to preorder their cakes however we had traveled very far to try it out and were unable to because of the lack of proper advertising. Had the Taiyaki. I've had it twice now and it's really good. It comes with some fish bread (not made with fish). It's basically ice cream with some toppings and sauce.
