A friend of mine recommended me this place and it did not disappoint. I think it's a family owned business. All of them (staff/family members) were all so welcoming and nice. 100% great service. The coffee was really good. I ordered an iced toasted marshmallow latte and it wasn't too sweet or bland. It was delicious. There's so much pastries and food to choose from - you'll want to get all of it! I got the Pistachio and Riccota Cake, scacciata, chocolate macaroon, and they gave me a free almond cookie! I like Dolce. I've had a number of nice items, including the pictured petit four, which was both artful and a delicious small treat. This morning I had their breakfast puff pastry with tomato, spinach, and cheese. Crisped right, filling, and tasty. I was going to save half for later, but couldn't stop myself. Service has always been one of warm hospitality. Everyone is friendly, personable, makes eye contact, greets customers and thanks them. However, many months since their opening, staff still seem perplexed about what's sold in the display case when asked. And you have to ask, because many unusual items still do not have a label. So customers don't know, nor do staff. Awkward. This should be an easy to fix issue as noted in other reviews, but...alas, not yet. With some top quality items and a welcoming staff, Dolce could be a quaint 4-star cafe. But there are other inconsistencies, namely with their croissants (or cornettos?) that prevent them from being a reliable Euro-bakery. When I saw these grandiose cornettos today, normally I'd skip a classic that looks a little off. But, when in Rome. Their almond croissants were equally oversized today, so I think this may have been a proofing or baking error. The taste was nondescript, and the layers in the cutaway were cavernous on top while flat at the bottom. It resembled more the size and makings of a stromboli rather than a petit breakfast pastry. If you stop here, you will find something you'll enjoy, no doubt. I'm excited to try their gelato and lighter summertime lunch fare outside on the patio. If they iron out some of the basic kinks, they'll be a consistent 4-star cafe or better, a much-needed and welcomed addition to this side of town. read more

I freakin love this place! There's really no other way to put it. I love how you feel like family when you walk in and I love the variety of baked goods available, both sweet and savory. They are authentic Italian! I'm obsessed with the almond croissant. It's just as good as other bakeries in town, but it's more accessible. This little cafe has some beautiful and delicious pastries made with really quality ingredients. They also offer breakfast and lunch selections such as quiche, salads, soup and sandwiches-but you have to try one of their amazing pastries! We had several pastries along with a really good chai latte. Service was outstanding but the understandably get very busy and it's not a large space. Love this little caffe! Was craving baked goods and happened to be in the area. This caffe popped up on my handy dandy Yelp search so I just had to try it! First off very clean and decorated nicely, gives off such Italian vibes! Staff is very friendly and inviting. Turns out I went to school with the owner Melissa - also very kind! I only had time for the window goods presented in the front in which they had many options, it was hard to choose. The Nutella pastry was for the kids and I ended up eating more of it then them! I read about this cafe in edible Reno and the small seating area was almost full when I arrived around 9 in the morning. So I guess the word is out. This place has been on my "radar" for quite some time. I know they typically close in the later afternoon so catching them after work would not be possible. I just so happened to be in the area during a midmorning work task, and went to check them out to grab some treats. I find this shopping center to be very inviting with the overall set up and plenty of outdoor seating. I remember coming here years back and it being a bakery as well. Upon walking in, I was greeted by the beautiful presentation of pastries. It reminded me of one of my old neighborhood Italian bakeries back where I grew up. There were one or two people ahead of me but when I went to scope out all of the amazing pastries I was asked if there were any questions they were happy to help. I took my time studying everything and it was hard to narrow down to a handful of pastries but I made it work. I also was curious about the coffee so ordered an iced salted caramel latte. I was hoping the coffee would be as good as the pastries but not quite that good to where I took some sips throughout the morning. But the real winner here was the pastries. I did see a cluster of people sitting here enjoying some dishes so I'm betting their actual food items are great. It may have been one of the owners but she was really friendly and laughed as I was snapping photos haha! A wonderful and homey concept brought by Giuseppa and her daughter Melissa. These ladies work hard to bring authenticity to their offerings - from using quality imported Italian ingredients to adhering to traditional Sicilian recipes. I have a hard time with sweet pastries since most bakeries use more sugar that my palette prefers, but Dolce Caffe gets it just right! If you like subtly sweet baked goods, this is the perfect place for you. The food was amazing and the service was even better! The owners are just incredibly lovely people. The pricing is a great value too. I am looking forward to sharing this gem of a cafe with friends and family and coming back to try all the delicious offerings. This morning was my second time coming here. A few weeks ago when I came in I got the jalapeño cream cheese croissant, and wow it was so good! Stuffed to the gills with cream cheese. The owner (dang I forgot his name) was VERY knowledgeable not only about each presented wine, but every appetizer and food that was served. These are some of the highest quality pastries I've ever had in my life. I thought I knew what good Italian baked goods were. My god, I've been living as a mere child. I just finished the pistachio ricotta cake and I'm upset I had to share it. It is feather light with savory pastry lining on top that was surprisingly a really nice addition. Just impeccable. I also had a powdered sugar almond confection. (Forget what it was called, but you can find it by how it's described, bonus points it's gluten and dairy free!) Crunchy on the outside and doughnut soft on the inside, it almost tasted like roses. The texture was divine, like nothing else I had before. The ladies working there were all so sweet and informative. You should definitely try this place at least once and treat yourself. The most delicious cake I've ever had in my life!!!!
