    Sashimi Regular

We ordered the regular sashimi, crunchy spicy tuna roll, and salmon avocado roll for pickup. The sashimi was very disappointing. Several pieces were poorly trimmed, with noticeable bloodlines and skin still attached which should have been addressed before serving. The fish was also tough and chewy, not the fresh, clean texture you'd expect from sashimi. The salmon avocado roll was another letdown. The avocado was visibly browned, making it seem like it was well past its prime and detracting from the overall quality of the roll. The crunchy spicy tuna roll was the only item we enjoyed. For a restaurant specializing in sushi, these are basic quality issues that shouldn't be overlooked. While one roll was good, the overall experience was disappointing especially given the price.

This was probably my 5th time coming to Doma. I decided to have my solo early birthday dinner here on Friday, and I wasn't disappointed. The restaurant is very minimalistic, modern with clean lines. In the past, I have had the shiitake mushroom buns, and the calamari salad which are delicious. The salad is packed with fried calamari, and the buns are light with a very nice sauce that accompanies it. I tend to go for the speciality rolls, and I've always enjoyed whatever I've ordered. This visit I had a small house salad with an amazing soy/ vinegar dressing and two specialty rolls. I ordered the yakuza roll and the dragon roll which were both amazing. They were both so good, that I couldn't decide which was my favorite. The yakuza roll highlighted soft shell crab and the dragon roll highlighted eel, avocado and a delectable sauce, topped off with fish eggs. They were both amazing and I would get them again. My food was so good, my date and I decided to come back later and get some takeout. He's vegan and got two rolls. One was a vegetable roll and the other a sweet potato roll, which he enjoyed. It was my birthday, so I decided to have another yakuza roll and the fried oysters. Honestly, my two selections didn't work well as takeout, and I wouldn't suggest getting them to go. I was a little disappointed, but it won't stop me from going there in the future. Overall, this was another great food experience and I'll definitely be back in the future.

No frills super solid easy go-to sushi! Love the TYS Roll Combo--it has everything i would normally pick, for a super reasonable price!! Adored this!!

Love this sushi restaurant! I used to order on grubhub all the time when I lived here. Finally went inside and ate when we decided to have a Philly day. We also ordered the spicy pork gyoza. Everything was so good! The service is fast. The place is clean and so is the bathroom. Highly recommended!

I'm so happy I got sushi from here! The rolls were decently sized and they don't s skimp on the ingredients!! They are also very decently priced as well. Most of the rolls that I ordered were around $6 each which I say is a steal! Sushi flavor was on point and I felt very satisfied with the quality. I would definitely order from here again. Next time I will have to dine in and see if the service matches up! Recommendations: Shrimp tempura Salmon avocado

Fantastic neighborhood Japanese BYOB. For the sushi and rice lovers (not noodles unless in soup), they have SO MUCH to pick from and all amazing. The dinner bento boxes are fantastic for takeout (you get a little bit of everything). In the restaurant, I cannot recommend enough the spicy pork bibimbap. Imagine a blazing hot stone bowl with rice, vegetables, pork, that continues to cook and get crispy while you eat it. AH-MAZING. Other recommendations- pork gyoza (fantastic), triple spicy double, tuna, roll, island, roll, Medusa roll. Great flavor, creative, and large in size. The staff is always wonderful and so friendly, and if you do want something to drink, there is a beer store next-door (it is overpriced, but it is convenient).

Came last minute on a Friday night and had about 15 minutes to order. They let me bring in a few beers, and have a cork fee for wine I believe. The sashimi sundae was delicious but didn't come with wasabi or much sauce, the tempura appetizer as crispy and light. The japchae was a nice surprise, super flavorful veggies and noodles. We were served pretty quickly with appetizers. There are booth and chair options, and the rolls are pretty large and filling. The quality of the sushi and fish was awesome and the price made me happy. BYOB sushi heaven!

Below average sushi spot. It was not very tasty and fish did not taste fresh. Rice was overcooked and slightly mushy. My initial pair of chopsticks were chipped so I asked for a new pair- the server gave me a pair of plastic chopsticks that were stained and there were what looked like bite marks on the end. I ended up just eating the sushi with my hands. The place was empty and quiet. No other customers were there. I would not be returning.

I had a pleasant dining experience at Doma with a friend. We received our food promptly. I had some of the best tasting sashimi and sushi here. Staff members were polite and responsive during our visit which made our visit even more pleasant. The atmosphere is very relaxed. It's a perfect little spot to bring a date or a few friends. It's very casual. I brought my own beer with me too.

My second time here for dinner without reservations and were seated quickly. Both times were good. Started off with the crab salad. This appetizer was not worth it since it was filled with just shredded crab sticks. Ordered the spider roll and the rock & roll. Both rolls were extremely filling and delicious. The rolls were quality rolls. Service was good.

I come here for happy hour every now and then because the prices are really great, and both the food and drinks are delicious. We started with the specialty cocktail and the Thai Punch, and both were really good. They had fruity undertones, and the alcohol wasn't overpowering at all -- I could easily have a few of these. For food, we got a few orders of the kung pao chicken wings. They were perfectly crispy with a really flavorful glaze. The portion size was also very generous, especially for the happy hour price. These are a great example of Asian-style fried chicken wings done right. I definitely want to come back and try their full dinner menu since I've only been here for happy hour so far. Luckily, it's not too far from where I live in the city, so I'll definitely be back!

TLDR: mediocre food and dessert. You will be rushed out and treated like a nuisance. Go if you…read moredeliberately want a short basic, salty meal and don't mind feeling rushed. The details: This place is WAY overrated online. It's amazing what a little publicity can do for a place... Honestly, I wish I had something good to say about it, but all I can say is that a couple of the dishes (mushroom shumai and salmon skewers) were just "okay". The fried items (spicy chicken bao, cauliflower) were greasy and tasted half burnt; they were clearly fried in old grease, which leaves burnt crumbs on the batter and also doesn't drain from the food as well. The short rib dumplings were salty and the meat was overcooked and mushy. Besides the poor quality food, I strongly disliked that (at a regular table with a dinner reservation) they asked for a card up front to "open a tab". Really?? That seems so weird and tacky. Very few people "dine and dash", so what would be the reason behind this? It felt especially "interesting" given the diversity of the patrons, if you get my drift. I've never been to a restaurant that does that, unless you're at the bar. Speaking of the bar...FYI They only honor the happy hour menu at the bar. The last thing I'll say is this isn't a place where you can eat comfortably and relax socially. They are literally at your table every 5-10 mins trying to get you out. It's sort of "tapas" style but they don't allow you to finish a bite before they bring the next item. We felt like we had to rush to taste everything before it got cold. To top it off, we ordered the $56pp meal thing and the dessert was 4 tiny, tiny finger-sized ice cream cones. They brought them out without warning, so they were melting right away...again, forcing us to eat or lose out. And of course the waitress brought the check out shortly thereafter. When I made it clear that we wouldn't be rushed out, she kindly gave us more water. I questioned her about rushing us, and she said they "run a high volume model". Lol doesn't every restaurant want high volume (I.e., more money)? But at the expense of service? I guess they found the sweet spot of mediocrity and profit that keeps the doors open. Maybe 10 mins later, the manager came over and picked up drink glasses and asked us how things went (another "hurry up") signal. It was truly bizarre. Unfortunately, I didn't get to finish telling him how terrible the food was because he had a nose bleed and had to run off, and didn't return right away. We just left because it was no longer worth staying around somewhere that made it uncomfortable for us to have a leisurely dinner. I definitely would never go again. I didn't take any food pics because none of it was appealing enough to make me take my camera out, and again, we had to eat fast.

We were a party of two and the experience was fantastic from start to finish. The Highlights: Quality: This is hands-down the best quality "all-you-can-eat" (AYCE) sushi I've had. Unlike other places where the fish can sometimes taste frozen, everything here tasted fresh and high-quality. Service: Our server, Jordan, was incredibly attentive and made our lunch even better. Menu: The miso soup was delicious, and the salad portion was generous. The fried calamari was also great, though the pieces were on the smaller side. While the chicken teriyaki was a bit disappointing, the rest of the meal more than made up for it. Value: At approximately $33.85, the AYCE price is a great value for the quality you receive. They also have an extensive ramen menu--while it's not included in the AYCE price, it looked delicious and is something I'm excited to try next time. Overall Thoughts: The restaurant was very quiet during our lunch visit, which made for a relaxing meal, though I imagine it gets lively during happy hour.
