NY Cheese
Bryce S.

Located south of downtown, on El Camino, is Dominos. Fast, easy, convenient, yes. Ordered on the app, went in, and picked it up. Seemed to be a one man band, but the NY Cheese Pizza and Cheesy Bread were ready. When I got home, I got to see more of a reflection of the economy. The pizza was very dry, barely any sauce. The cheese was slightly better, still horrible. The dough was cooked well and actually had a bottom to the pizza(unlike last time). The cheesy bread was the best thing, but it even had less cheese than usual. Minimum wage keeps going up, less workers working, prices for food keeps going up and then all foods cheapest parts to make, become the focus. *If you've ever made pizza, you know the cheapest thing is the dough, not the spices, cheese, tomatoes. Now we paid $32 for dry dough*

When we order dominos it's because it's cheap, quick, and close by; so our expectations are pretty low. Our last two experiences here though, were so bad we can never return to the Atascadero location. We ordered two medium pizzas, one with pepperoni and white sauce and one half pepperoni half cheese with red sauce. An easy order that you would think would be hard to mess up, but they managed. When we picked them up we didn't bother checking if the orders were right because how can you screw up a pepperoni and a half pepperoni half cheese pizza? Turns out it can be pressed screwed up. 1. By the time we arrived home the copious amount of grease had over flowed and both boxes were totally soaked through to the point that they ruined my son's brand new sweatshirt and pants. 2. The pizzas looked like they had been cut in the dark during an earthquake. They were each cut into 6 slices, however some of the slices were less than an inch wide, while others were 1/3 of the pizza. 3. The red sauce tasted like it had gone bad, almost sickeningly sweet but also moldy tasting? 4. I LOVE salt, and am actually ordered by my doctor to consume an ungodly amount of salt during the day for medical reasons. The pizzas with the white sauce were so incredibly salty I couldn't handle it. It was as if they had put a tablespoon of salt on each slice. Needless to say both pizzas went in the trash. I called the store and was told "I don't understand the problem, that's how they come. The white sauce curdles in the oven and becomes really salty and greasy, and we need new cutters so... really this is on you" (this is our normal order so I know they should not look or taste like this) their solution was to give us store credit. We chalked it up to a fluke and tried again two weeks later. Where they then claimed we were not give store credit, eventually they gave in and gave us the pizzas which had pretty much just as many problems but different ones this time. I would rather drive to Costco at this point for our cheap pizza needs. TLDR: Staff/customer service: rude/unhelpful Store: dirty Food: a hot mess

We ordered a cheese and a pepperoni pizza then received a jalapeño and a mushroom pizza. I called the store, they were courteous and said the correct pizzas would be delivered. The pizzas arrived in a reasonable amount of time and the cheese pizza we received had absolutely no cheese on 2 slices. It seems like more than a simple mistake when 2 slices have no cheese on them. That being said, both delivery drivers and employees on the phone were professional and courteous. Just seems like too much of a risk for the price to order here. 2 orders in a row were bad.

They sent me an uncut pizza. Someone really missed the quality check there.
Skyler B.

They sent me an uncut pizza full of bubbles throughout, and it looks like there's more crust than pizza. Quality control didn't happen here at all. Pretty crazy they sent out a completely uncut pizza and I'm very disappointed!

I ordered two pizzas from this store this evening.. one cheese the other pepperoni.. I asked for light sauce, not NO sauce, just light.. when the pizzas were delivered all of that was fine, until I got the pizza in the house and opened the box.. obviously from the light they assumed no sauce, the pepperoni pizza had dark bubbles on the top and no sauce.. all you could see wags pepperoni cheese and dough.. so very disappointed.. the cheese seemed fine.. will make sure I look at the box before I let the driver leave or I leave the store

So of course, I ordered my favorite too, a salt bagel, extra toasted. My main goal was the soup, and when they said it was only available frozen, I was totally fine with that. It could thaw throughout the day and she could enjoy it whenever she felt up to it. Turns out, it was a great call. The soup had tiny bits of veggies and multiple matzo balls that were nice and sizable. She loved it, and honestly, it looked so good I'll be getting it for myself next time I'm feeling run down. Now the surprise star... that bagel. The chew was spot on. That perfect bakery-style texture with just the right crust. Not even close to a grocery store bagel. If you know, you know. The shop itself is small and super casual, with a very relaxed, neighborhood feel. Service was quick, about three minutes from ordering to walking out the door. They also have outdoor seating, which is a nice bonus. And one more thing worth mentioning... if you take a minute to look up at the menu board, they have a great selection of breakfast sandwiches. Definitely coming back to work my way through those. Great food, fast service, chill vibe... and that bagel chew alone is worth the stop.

Excited to have some with my coffee, I ripped off a piece almost immediately and noticed the nice crust on the outside. 5 stars for the crust!! As for the flavor, it seemed a little flat. It was lacking some of the wheaty-tangy flavor you would get from a longer prove/fermentation. The inside of it was also missing all those nice deep pockets you see in a French baguette. Overall, not a bad baguette, but not one that you yearn for. I'd like to mention the young lady Annabel I had the privilege of meeting outside of the bakery. She was on a delivery run, but told me about their IG page, and we had a wonderful chat about cookies. Thank you for your time, Annabel, you are awesome!

She was taking multiple orders at once and asked three customers what they wanted--I was the third. I clearly ordered an Italian with double meat. She repeated it back correctly, so there was no confusion on my end. When the sandwich was made, it was obvious it did not have double meat. I calmly pointed it out, and instead of correcting it, she argued with me--saying "that's extra meat." I clarified again: I ordered double meat and understand the difference. Her response? A dismissive tone and "well then it will be a double charge," as if I wasn't already aware of that. That's literally what I ordered. From there, her attitude completely deteriorated--eye rolling, snapping back, and accusing me of being rude for simply asking to receive what I paid for. When I asked for a manager, she said she was the manager. That's the real issue here. If this is how management handles basic customer interactions--arguing, dismissing, and deflecting instead of correcting a simple mistake--there's a serious leadership problem at this location. I don't mind paying for quality. I do mind being talked down to and treated like I'm the problem for expecting my order to be right. I've been coming in pretty regularly, but that ends today, I'll never come back to this location Do better.

The tray included a lovely assortment of finger sandwiches, fresh scones with clotted cream and jam, crumpets with additional preserves, and a top tier filled with miniature pastries and macarons. The portions were just right, leaving you with a sweet finish without feeling overly full. High Tea was $50 per person, which we felt was well worth it for the experience.
