Went here with a party of 7. Came around 12-1pm on a Saturday. The place is welcoming with nice decor. Its not big but not small. I usually order menudo to go and it's some of the best around. This time was dine in. The hostess was nice. We got our order in. But this took some time to get our order fully. Now Im factoring in the wait took about 45min. That fine we were a large group. They weren't too packed after we sat so. It was a bit discouraging that 6 out of the 7 orders placed came out and had to remind them. I got what I normally get which was the menudo. I got it with pata this time. This time around it was ok. There was not the same amount they usually put in the to go orders. The broth felt a little watered than normal thus lacking that deep flavor. Still good but probably one of the not so good times. Also tried the guac n salsa n chips. All were really good. That salsa is perfect. Also had a bite of the chilaquiles and yeah they are how I like em. Tasty but not overly sauced.

This restaraunt that's surrounded by residential homes in Pacas is an undiscovered treasure. A small spot with a heavy client base. Feels like a neigborhood staple Get there too late on the weekends for breakfast and you will have to wait outside. We tried the Cafe De Olla both hot and iced. A must try...The balance ! The balance between the sugar and cinnamon is excellence. The mulitas (not featured) are the best along with the Blanco Menudo. Very generous portions of everything. Tacos Dorados (not featured) are okay. The staff is effecient and professional. Service is quick for turning over table. This will remain on my breakfast spot list.

I visited two months ago and I am still thinking about the tasty chicharrón! Don Chon Menudo is no secret to anyone as this place is very busy and has a wait when I was there enjoying every last bite of the saucy chilaquiles. The space is very small, but I never felt rushed. The service is great and the food amazing! The parking sucks though.

The worst part about going somewhere new to eat, is being looked at like a science experiment lol Outside of that, the food was great. The service was still kind, and prompt. The environment is very nice very elegant. I had the Chilaquiles, I think the red sauce needs work, a little bit of meat in there would've been great, but overall it was delicious. Especially, after I asked for a little more cream, onions and cilantro. It was prepared fresh and came out quickly.

The was our first time trying this spot. We found them on IG and let me say it did not disappoint. Everyone is very welcoming and our server Fernanda was very friendly. I got the pozole and it was really good, my BF got the menudo and honestly this is by far the best I've ever had! We also tried the crispy birria tacos with cheese the meat was so tender. Note: don't let the long line scare you, it's worth the wait. Although it's a small spot they get a lot of people in there (not crammed). They also get your food out really quick to you. Definitely coming back again!!!

Okayyyyyy we decided to try this hole-in-the-wall because typically hole- n-the-walls are extremely fire but this one definitely miss, was VERY MID!!! We visited this restaurant on a Friday morning, which was relatively quiet. However, the waiters were quite forgetful. I had to ask for water more than twice, and they seemed disorganized and not very attentive to our needs. Now the food looks great in pictures , however that's ALSO MISSED! we ordered several things and besides the burrito , everything was MID, not much flavor , syrup was Almost frozen , didn't even know syrup can freeze , coffee was very unflavored and boring , but looks great !!! Pricing is the same everywhere but rather spend my money elsewhere! Would not recommend, save your money and go elsewhere .

This place has become our go-to breakfast spot every weekend ever since our first visit! The service is always warm and welcoming, and the food quality is consistently outstanding. I love classic American breakfast dishes like pancakes and eggs, while my dad prefers a good menudo, so it's the perfect place for us since both the American and Mexican options are equally delicious. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, celebrating Mexican culture and heritage, and the good music and inviting atmosphere make it the perfect spot to enjoy great food and quality time with family.

Stopped by for breakfast with my family and we LOVED it. I stopped by years ago and picked up some menudo and it was good, but now that they have remodeled and expanded their menu, it will be a usual place for us. Service was friendly and fast for the most part. The place is small so expect a wait and accommodating a big party may be difficult. Perfect for small groups or be ok with sitting separately. Now for the food, it was delicious. We got the chilaquiles with a ribeye (spicy and so good), breakfast burrito, a waffle and menudo. Everyone was happy with their food!

Have you ever gone to a cafe with pancakes and menudo served all day? I mean, that is just dope!!! Menudo is one of my favorite Mexican dishes, and learning about this place where you can eat it for breakfast or brunch is excellent! Cozy restaurant! We loved the food and ambience. The waitresses are so friendly and welcoming. Everything we had was great! Their coffees are very filling and delicious! That's ones of the reasons we keep coming back. Recommend! Street parking and there's always enough.

Found this place on a quick hunt for a menudo place near me and this restaurant did not disappoint! Service was wonderful welcoming and we got sat pretty quickly, the food was delicious! I ordered the menudo and my son ordered a waffle he absolutely loved it. Can I just say this has been one of the best menudos I've had!!! This place is terrible! Next to a liquor store with sketchy people hanging out. Reminds me of the movie Cheech and Chong. Haha! Orale vato, waas sappening... pssst pssst pssst J/k, this place is bomb. Hope this place doesn't blow up and get burned. Can't say I'm an expert in menudo, but I'm a connoisseur in training. The whole ambiance makes it perfect. If you do have a "hangover", feel free to get a beer next door to complement your menudo. It's a win-win situation. Now they have menudo ramen? OMG! Extremely disappointed. Their food is delicious but just had the worst experience with our order. We called to place an order: 2 birra ramens and 1 pozole. What we got was SIGNFICANTLY INCORRECT. I've been to a lot places in the valley that serve menudo . Hate to say it but this place does not make the cut. Only positive was the hand made tortillas. The menudo had absolutely no taste. Water down menudo. Unclear if they even clean the tripe after eating this it does leave a bad after taste. I had the quesabirria tacos and they were delicious! They had just the right amount of meat, very filling. The consomé was also also on point. My husband had the white menudo (sin grano & with pata). He too was very satisfied with the flavor. Pricing was reasonable and service was quick. No complaints here. read more

I am very wary about menudo, as most places don't clean it properly. Not this place, they are on point with their menudo. I was very happy with my menudo with ramen noodles. Yes that is an option. Give them a try and you will be back for seconds. read more

Menudo taste so homemade, just like grama makes it. If you are trying it on a weekend, call ahead- much easier as it is pretty busy on weekends- you'll be greeted with a friendly "Buenos días!" We tried the red and white menudo, both of them with "maíz." Both of them were good! They pack everything up nicely... onion/cilantro, limes, oregano and Chile de árbol. Ohhhhh and did I mention the handmade tortillas? Yum! For two large and two small menudos we paid about $42. This spot is in a Residental area...parking can be found on the smaller streets. Keep in mind, this spot only sells menudo. read more

DISAPPOINTED: I had been waiting to try this place, but was SO disappointed! The menudo tasted watery no flavor, the meat tasted as if it had not been washed/cleaned. Definitely needed onion, garlic, more chili's in the broth, and salt. Wow, it left an awful taste in my mouth!!! read more

I've tried Don Chon a few time and always go with the red Menudo I've had it with and without hominy it's great either way (I'm a hominy guy). Today I tried something New! the Ramen-udo! Everyone has their Go-To menudo spot BUT y'all gotta try this place and try really hard not to fall in love. It is The PERFECT bowl of Menudo. Hidden in the middle of Pacoima neighborhood, Don Chon delivers a very flavor menudo, Deep bone broth without the grease. Their homemade corn tortilla is bomb!! Looking for a twist? Tried this place out for the first time the place is extremely clean the Manudo was not too spicy but not bland so it's perfect in that aspect. The toasted chili onion cilantro and lime take it over the top in a good way! The only small thing I would say to change is the tribe! needs to be cooked a little longer was slightly rubbery. Good portion size, the menudo is missing something (a spice, Chile, lime or salt) even with all the added ingredients it was still missing something. Tortillas were the highlight. Overall good local menudo if you're hungover or craving some menudo. read more

All in all I'd come here again just after my match. Go with cash only. They love that. Cash is still and always will be king.

I love coming here for authentic Mexican food!…read more I usually come on the weekends when they serve menudo and pozole. The pozole is so savory and delicious. They load it up with meat and hominy. They give you all the condiments on the side so you can prepare it how you want and they give you tostadas on the side. The burrito mojado with green salsa is also delicious! It's super huge and loaded with meat. They are definitely not stingy. The salsa isn't too spicy if you're looking for more spice you can go with the red salsa. They are always super fast here and it does get busy on the weekends. The inside of the restaurant is pretty big so there is plenty of space and tables to sit at.

The red chilaquiles are fantastic too, with a nice little kick. And the waffles? Perfect! They totally nailed my favorite toppings.
