    Arancini, a.k.a. Baked Rice Balls
    Alex M.

You had me at Arancini. One of the few pizzerias in the Upper East Side--if not all of Manhattan--to serve Arancini, a.k.a. Baked Rice Balls. They have a breadcrumb crust, filled with cheesy rice, and a core of meat and peas. Don Filippo's Arancini are very large. Just one could easily be a very filling lunch or dinner for you. This place doesn't just warm them up for you. They split them in half, coat the two halves with even more melted mozzarella, and serves them with a side of dense marinara sauce. Not too salty. Baked to perfection. Packed nicely for take out. And very friendly staff when I was there on Saturday 10/18/25. My new vice.

Came here with a friend. Excellent food, service and ambience. The waiter was friendly and helpful. I ordered a personal pizza with all the toppings, it was delicious and plentiful. My friend had a chicken dish, she said it was amazingly delicious.

I love their pizza 10/10 delicious & affordable. 2 slices & a soda for $6. Pizza sliceeee are perfect

We were nearby at the Metropolitan Museum and wanted a quick bite. This was one of the results and had great reviews. Unfortunately, this just didn't live up to the expectations that we had. First of all, they refused to tell us the prices of their slices. We saw they were advertising a $6.30 deal for 2 slices and a soda. I asked what slices were included and they told us all of them. This made sense as their website clearly states that all their slices are between $3-4. We grabbed a margarita slice and a white slice. The pizzas were quite old and hard. Even the oven they through them in didn't help at all! Unfortunately it was very unsatisfying, but the worse part came when they gave us a bill. They charged us $5.50 per slice! I mentioned their deal they had stated before and they said that it didn't apply now. This was unacceptable however we paid our bill and left. The pizza is average at best yet the service is bad as they do try to scam you!

Great place for a quick slice or sit down meal

Very good Pizza and other foods. Staff is quick to serve you and they get crowded but worth it. Place has seating inside and outside.

Located at 309 West 50th Street in New York City's Hell's Kitchen neighborhood, the casual eatery has an extensive list of pizzas. Don Antonio has over 30 types of Neapolitan pizzas, and the menu is a little bit daunting at first due to so many options, but even the pickiest eater will find something they'll want to eat. To top that off, Caporuscio recently debuted a brand new pizza tasting menu that features a curated lineup of never-before-seen pizza napoletana, and seven varieties of pizza fritta (fried pizza). Lastly, the entire pizza menu is now available gluten-free. With vast offerings, they are ambitious, and every dish is outstanding.

Beautifully pillowy crust with a fiery char, and there's a perfect balance of sweetness and acidity from the tomato and savoriness from the pesto. We were curious about the white pizzas so we tried the norma and that one was nice as well with a lot of textures from the eggplant and tomato. Personally prefer the margarita as it seems to be a more well-rounded pizza and the tomato just can't be missed. It was pretty packed inside when we got there and took the bar seating, so would probably recommend a reservation for larger parties (2+) on evenings. Definitely one of my top neopolitan pizza spots in NYC!

We started with two fabulous drinks: An Espresso Martini and their signature Limoncello Margarita. We shared the Shaved Brussel Sprout Salad and it was fabulous. The bits of bacon, combined with the spiciness of the pepper spices, made this a perfect starter. The entree was also shared and it was the Spicoli 2.0 Pizza. I cannot recommend this pie, enough. You will taste flavors that you've probably never experienced before with a pizza. Also, the different textures of the arugula, creaminess of the cheese, and the perfect crust will make it a memorable selection. For dessert, we shared the Buttermilk Panna Cotta. Each spoonful of those strawberries, dancing with the firm custard and glaze, made this a stupendous cap to the meal.

RIGHT BY THE DOOR. Do people not realize that putting a bar near a door on a freezing cold night benefits no one? Good thing I did not order alcohol or I would have froze to death. Seriously, none of the pies stood out in grand memory. All I can think of is, well, nothing. Nothing positive anyway. The names of the pies are funny, and the staff is friendly, but besides that, the quality of the food for lack of a better word, dare I say it, sucks. Hoping to salvage the meal, I ordered their Chicken Parmesan. It was the Hail Mary pass that unfortunately did not connect. The cutlets are overcooked and dry, and the red sauce cooked with it has minimal tomato flavor. At least the spaghetti is cooked to a nice al dente and mellow garlic butter flavor, but like the sauce cooked in, it is also minimal. Part of the problem I feel is they are trying to go for a vibe that has a New York and modern feel. It does not work. Stay true to one or the other. Or at least look at other business models. I will use another pizzeria in Bushwick that exemplifies it perfectly. It is a hipster pizzeria in a hipster neighborhood. Through balance, it creates an ambiance both welcoming and warm without losing any of its Bushwick character. It does this by not beating you over the head with hipster vibes, just enough to let you know that you are in Bushwick. The band Franz Ferdinand was playing as I was wrapping up. Rather than take the pizza out, I suggest you throw it out. Overall pizza rating: 1.7/5

The first thing you notice is the main bar wall, with its exposed centuries-old brick that has survived every bit of chaos this city could throw at it. It's subtly backlit from with a warm, amber glow that highlights every single historic groove and imperfection, making the whole room look like it's breathing. I have to say the centerpiece of the entire narrow room is the bar itself, and let me tell you, it is an absolute stunner of a contrast. Instead of the usual dark, sticky tavern wood, they've dropped in a long, continuous slab of pristine, elegantly smooth white stone. It glows under the soft lighting like a block of polished marble. There are no strobe lights and no obnoxious, skull-rattling bass in this joint. Instead, the room is wrapped in a blanket of incredibly chill music that matches the pulse of the room perfectly. It's just loud enough to drown out the noise in your own head, but quiet enough that you don't have to scream over the smooth white counter to be heard. People aren't here to be seen on TikTok; they're here to disappear for an hour or three. You slide into a chair, order a proper Old Fashioned from a bartender who doesn't rush the pour, and watch the ice melt against the amber-lit brick. It's the ultimate underground exhale--a perfect, narrow slice of peace in a city that never shuts up. Cheers!
