This was my first time shopping at a Don Quijote store and I was fulfilling her requests from the list she gave me. I found everything she had on her wish list here... and then some. I was only able to cover one side of the store... where all the macadamia chocolates were. The place is huge! They have everything here. It's a sizable Asian store that serves as a supermarket, drug store, department store and they also carry Hawaiian souvenirs. Wish I had more time to shop but I quickly found everything I needed. I came a little later in the evening around 8pm to check the place out. I love that they're open late. You could spend forever in the store exploring everything. Unfortunately, all of the food stalls directly in front of the store were already closed. I saw that some food items were discounted inside the market where the all the deli & food items were, so decided on a poke bowl & a hotate nigiri. I didn't like the poke bowl at all. The ahi wasn't seasoned well, barely any sauce on it. I really enjoyed the hotate though, it was so delish. I would definitely get it again at such a good discounted price! I have a love hate relationship with this store. Hate this store because I can never find anything. Love this store because they have everything! Currently looking for a Japanese imported bottle of chili oil which was so delicious when tasted at my friend's house...let me know if you find it 'cause I couldn't!?! Especially like to take visitors from out of state here because of the large Hawaiian memorabilia and snack section. Last time I was waiting for my visitors to finish looking at the macadamia nuts, I found my all time favorite flavor of Mac nuts...gingerbread! Don Quijote is our families go to place to buy grocery. They have fresh produce, canned goods, meat, seafood, frozen food, sushi, etc. Basically your name is you got it. I especially like the sushi and sashimi collection. They make it fresh daily, but don't go there too early. They might not have it ready for you to buy yet. We love all the Asian items especially some special items from Japan. They also have a lot of wine and alcohol selection. Today I was told by customer service that Don Quijote Kaheka and Don Quijote Pearl City were different stores. I had bought something from Don Quijote Pearl City. We were given the wrong item. We were near the Don Quijote Kaheka store 40 mins later. We went to return it. We were told that we could only get store credit??? I visit this Donki frequently and enjoy the selection they have. They have extremely trendy drinks, food, and beauty products in Japan in stock! I'm actually so surprised by the new things they bring in. They recently started carrying the viral &honey hair products that have been trending on social media. A Japanese supermarket that has a staggering amount of variety that is almost overwhelming, you'll find pretty much everything you'll need here. Coming in before and on Christmas gave a unique experience- not only is there already so much to take in, the crowds add another aspect. There is plenty of parking, and though lines were long to check out, they move fairly quickly. They have basically anything you could want- souvenirs, groceries, plushies, and fresh poke. Don Quixote is the best place to go for whatever you need- groceries, baked good, electronics, souvenirs, toiletries and all kinds of Japan based items. Their bento/ hot food section has an amazing selection of anything you care to eat! The snacks section has everything from the familiar chips and candies to Asian cookies, chips, candies and more. They even have a frozen case chock full of Asian frozen treats. Every Tuesday is Senior discount day and if you spend $40 or more, you can show your receipt to customer service to get a gachapon token. For those who don't know what Gachapon is, it's a vending machine that gives capsule containing toys for the token. Just so you know, they don't allow very large bags into the store. There are lockers in the front by the security guard. It's open 24 hours- the lot across the street can get sketchy late at night. We like to go a bit later in the evening because it's absolutely nuts during the weekend days and holidays. read more

I love going to the Don Quijote here minus the crowdedness in the parking lot! A few months ago, I witnessed a security guard confronting a woman for shoplifting and the security guard managed to get the bag of items back from her as she ran away. A lot of people stopped and watched the whole thing unfold, but once it was over, I resumed my last minute search for some natural and low key falsies for my bridal makeup. Don Quijote came in a clutch because I found just what I was looking for there! The falsies were affordable too like $5-$6 for one pair. They have this whole section for beauty products and you have to pay for the goods before you exit and shop in the other departments. I did some damage in the souvenirs area -- some of the chocolate souvenirs were actually cheaper than Walmart! Aside from the typical Kona coffee and macadamia nuts chocolate, they also sell Asian snacks in the snack aisles. I've never seen some of the in the mainland before so check it out if you're a tourist too. The last time I went, they required my husband to check his book bag in the locker by the front.
