I was in a hurry and placed a pickup order for the grilled tilapia tacos to-go. HOLY COW, this place is awesome. Large portion of fish, great rice, and probably the best refried beans I've ever had... and I don't say that lightly! The slaw had chipotle sauce, was a perfect texture pairing for grilled fish. By recommendation of the cashier, I ordered a pork carnitas plate for my husband, and a brisket chimichanga for me, specifically asking for jalapeños in everything. I got jalapeño galore and the young man who brought out our food in an amazingly record time, also recommended a green spicy chilli that was absolutely delicious. The cashier also recommended the flan, so I ordered that for dessert. I ordered at 5:06pm and received the meal at 5:13pm, honestly. Everything was muy delicioso, and I walked away with a fuller stomach than I would have at other food places I spend more for food at. Arrived at 5 pm on a Sunday for takeout. The have a huge menu of awesomeness on the wall. You can also dine in. They have big booths and lots of tables. I was really impressed at how clean everything is. Clean floor, clean booths and clean bathrooms. I love a place that focuses on everything. The food came with a huge bag of chips with three different sauces. The green is hot and the red is mild. The other is a large just right sauce for dipping the chips in. The place has really easy parking. I will say that when you walk in it always seems a bit busy but they're really on top of it when it comes to servicing you. My first impression was that the person that checked me out was a male, and he just seems very robotic. Not too nice just ready to get my order and get it over with. I ordered the chicken quesadilla, & the chips and queso. Honestly the chicken quesadilla was not my favorite. The reason why was that the chicken was cut up very large and was put in a quesadilla but it almost seem like if you picked it up it would all fall out. The queso though, wow it was delicious! A bit pricey for me but this is in the keller area so I expected it. Overall a really good atmosphere to eat during your lunch or with a couple of friends if you have more than a couple of bucks to spend. I always hear that the nachos are really good and very large and I will say the portions are large. So if you're looking to be full and it be worth the money I will say go here. We lived in area for three years but have only become regulars in the last year or so. Everything we've tried is very good, but our "go to" items are the shredded chicken nachos & seasoned ground beef nachos. Just recently, I tried their marinated Beef Adobado Burrito and despite my difficulty saying it when I ordered, I have a new favorite! Had the brisket taco which was a 5/5 shredded chicken taco which was 4/5 and shrimp taco which was 3/5. Queso was very good with a good kick. Rice was good but lacked salt. Overall a good meal. My son had a procedure at a nearby pediatric dentist. Had to have IV sedation, so he couldn't eat 8 hours prior to his 12:00 procedure. We didn't eat either because we didn't think it was fair to eat in front of him while he couldn't eat. The boy loves to eat, so I knew it would be a rough morning. Here we are at the dentist, it's 1:00 and he's having his procedure done. Mom and Dad starving. They act like son will be out for the count for a few hours, so no bueno on going out to eat. Hangry Dad decides to go search for food while Starving Mom stays and waits. Sounds good bring me back anything. In comes Don Taco, husband gets 9 tacos. 9 tacos sounds like a lot, but we haven't ate since 10 pm that previous night. 3 fish tacos, 3 al pastor tacos, and 3 chicken tacos. I ate an al pastor, fish, and a chicken taco right then. I didn't care for the fish. Tilapia is my least favorite fish and I didn't care for it on the taco. The al pastor wasn't bad, but not good either. The best was the chicken taco. So flavorful. If I known at the time of the chicken tacos I would've ate them all.. (Chicken tacos at the bottom of the bag) I was so hungry I could've eaten my right arm and given it 5 stars. I later ate another chicken taco huddled in the corner of my kitchen.. cold...and it was still good. My husband decides he wants to eat here again Easter for lunch. Was the chicken taco that damn good? Or were we just Starvin Marvins? This visit I get the tacos al carbon and he gets the chicken tacos. Chicken tacos and the al carbon were decent. Decided to try Don Taco after reading and hearing all the positive comments about this place. And to my surprise, I was very disappointed. As soon as I stepped into this establishment, it was very loud. All three TVs sounded as if they were on full blast, kitchen workers are shouting back and forth to each other (keep in mind that the kitchen is not concealed), and a man calling out order numbers, over a microphone, to pick-up their meal. Ordering food was a hassle, I had to look at a big bulletin and decide quickly on what I wanted to eat on the spot, because there were other people in-line behind me. The cashier, Jesus, was very informative and helpful on helping me decide on what to eat. After ordering, I sat down and waited for my number to be called over the speaker, it was very difficult to hear over all the noise. When my food came out, I looked very simple and unfresh. My food looked like something I could have made at home. The flour tortillas were not handmade or fresh, the rice had no flavor, and the cheese tasted like packaged supermarket cheese. The beef was a bit greasy and oily, but not bad. I couldn't finish my dinner, due to the bland taste. I've experienced better "authentic" Mexican food with cheaper pricing and more flavor. I won't be visiting Don Taco again. Save your time and money. read more

Simple local tex-mex, great prices. This is one of those casual places where you go to the counter to order and they call your number. They have a lot of seats inside and the patio is really nice. There are tvs inside so it would be a cheap place to catch a game and drinks. The drink prices are amazing: $2 draft beers and $3.50 margaritas. The food came out quickly and everyone was really friendly. The queso was really good, thinner than most places which made it great for dipping, and the chips seemed house-made. It wasnt spicy but with your food you get salsa and salsa verde so you can put it in there for extra heat. We shared the tamales and ground beef nachos. The nachos were a large portion and really tasty. They put only a little sour cream and guacamole but what I tasted of the guac was super yummy. I will get the chips and guacamole next time for sure. I wasnt too crazy about the tamales, but my boyfriend liked them. They tasted like there was brisket and not normal tamale meat in them, I think they had a little sweet flavor or something. When you order tamales they ask you if you want red sauce or queso on top which is a nice touch. Overall I would recommend for a casual lunch or dinner. The prices are great (nothing over $10) and the portions are large. I would give 5 stars if the food had more flavor or maybe a salsa bar. read more

They put beans on all of them even when container had scribbled on it no beans. I'd really give them a 2.5 (rounding up to 3) due to how screwed up the order was. The service is pretty standard: you order at the counter and go pick up your food when your number is called. Hubs got a taco al pastor and a beef fajita taco while I succumbed to my nacho craving. The tortillas for the tacos are not made in-house, which was pretty disappointing for a taco place to us. The beef for the fajita was well-seasoned but a little bit tough. The Corn tortilla on the al pastor (also not house made), was thick and rubbery. Hubs seemed to like the pork better, though. Yes true, this is quick serve - you get food on paper plates, you get your drinks from a Pepsi machine, but there is definitely a drop off from Los Molcajetes in quality. Some pros - decent patio, staff was wearing masks correctly, and they had signs up requiring masks from guests for entry. I'd give it 2.5 stars if I could, but not 3.
