We placed an online order for pickup and the turnaround time was fast! We grabbed a Classic Trio pizza on hand tossed crust, a meatball sub, an Italian side salad, a side of garlic breadsticks, fudge brownie, triple chocolate chunk cookie, and peanut butter frosted chocolate cookie. The brownie and cookies were packaged Cheryl's brand, and very good. The pizza, sub, and breadsticks were all nice and hot at pick up and tasted great. I've been ordering Big Don Subs for years . I ordered 3 tonight and they are a huge disappointment. I don't know what has changed but it was dry and the bread is not toasted nicely. It hardly had any meat on it. When I've had these in the past they are juicy and are dripping with Italian dressing....not these. Not a bad place but it is hit or miss. It's been pretty nice lately but I'm still not happy about the lack of cheese and how my pizza crust comes out burnt in places. This happens quite often and I was hoping it would be taken care of by now. In college I managed a Donatos and I recall the pizza oven needing cleaning and recalibrating perhaps. I don't know but please take care of it. I love the salads! Definitely not enough dressing packets for the full sized. It's the same amount as the regular side salad. That is not cool. The cashiers are usually friendly and process the transaction quite fast and correctly. It is very clean inside and smells like a clean, pizza joint should smell like. I would recommend once I visit again and get a pizza that isn't burnt. read more

Don't go here. They ripped me off. I ordered through grubhub, and paid 50 bucks. They delivered 4 hours before I had put on the order, so I refused it. They still charged me the 50 bucks, and then charged me again after I called and brought the same two cold pizzas 4 hours later. So I paid 100 bucks for 2 pizzas that were cold because they screwed up the order... Furthermore, shortly after I gave my credit card number over the phone, I had a fraudulent charge on my card from a grocery store an hour away. Really disappointed in Donatos. read more

This is a tricky review. The pizza is 90% of the time perfect, but I think due to staff shortages or maybe training we've been getting burnt crusts lately. We always order one of the gluten-free crusts and they are delicious. By no means is this a gluten-free kitchen so be aware of that. We also enjoy getting their salads as they are large and we can share one. read more

This place (and all other Donatos locations) have home seriously downhill the last year or so. Since they no longer want to pay employees to deliver pizza, they outsource it to Door dash, so every time I've ordered delivery in the last year it's arrived at least 90 minutes to 2 hours late, and obviously extremely cold. Tonight I decided to order and pick it up. I've been waiting inside now for 28 minutes and I'm still waiting on my food. The 3 employees who are here are clearly working their butts off, but man I hope this entire corporation goes bankrupt if this is how they think it makes sense for them to staff a restaurant. Rarely crowded when I stop in so I imagine most of their business is done through carryout and not dine-in. Service is always good. People are friendly and aren't going through the motions. Food is always good. It's served at the correct temperature. What I like about this location is even though it's a chain it's very much involved with the community. They are always sponsors of local events and hold several promotions throughout the year with proceeds going to schools and other local organizations. read more

The person said theyd bring it out the next chance they got.. i sat there for about ten minutes watching people come and go, picking up their pizzas. I do like Donatos - I feel like I have to apologize for that because I have scads of foodie-pizza-freaks for friends. But I DO like it! The interior of this location is tiny! There is very little parking, and it takes a while to get your food, even if you order a sandwich, like I did. The food is a bit of a saving grace, because Donatos does have good pizza and subs. I have to be in the mood for it, but at times, I love that thin crust pizza. And back when I ate meat, their pepperoni pies were one of my favorites. That can be said of any Donatos though, and if you're eating in, the Short North or Campus locations are both far nicer. read more

Worst pizza ever. The thicker crust pizzas were burnt on the bottom and raw dough on the top. When I called to complain, the manager tried to tell me this was how they were supposed to be. He asked if I wanted them "well done", and he could remake them "well done" but they might be burnt. So unprofessional. I grew up on this pizza and think it is the best so I am a little biased. We went here late night after a wedding on Saturday night and to my surprise they were still open! I've had a love affair with Donatos ever since I first tried it years ago. I mean, what's not to love? The thin, crispy, cornmeal-dusted crust tastes of the oven it is baked in. The provolone cheese is such a great but subtle alternative to mozzarella. And the 100 slices of pepperoni!? C'mon! In addition to the obvious pizza, the menu also boasts awesome subs and rotating specials like strombolis. The service predicatably varies from location to location. Usually it is great. I dig the Easton restaurant, and I've always had great experiences at my standby location in Canal. Then again, it was always a headache when I used to order from the one on Gender Road. With lots of locations all around central Ohio, Donatos is tough to miss. A lot of folks say it has gone downhill since McDonald's bought the company a few years back. I can't notice the difference. And so what if it is owned by the golden arches...so is Chipotle. Columbus style pizza isn't for everyone. Don't ever recommend it to someone from Chicago or NYC. They'll almost certainly laugh at it and at you. read more

This is the worst place ever! 2 and half hours late on my order, I just spoke with the manager and he screamed at me saying that the pizza is free. I don't need a free pizza I need a pizza that it's not 2 1/2 hours late and I still waiting for it. Worst place ever. I've never had Donato's pizza and decided since it was late and I had just arrived at my hotel, and they were one of the few places still opened that delivered, I couldn't be too choosy. I ordered a salad, a small serious cheese pizza and some barbecued wings. The estimated wait time was 45 minutes but the order arrived in 30. The delivery guy was genuinely personable and polite. The pizza was literally piping hot and was good tasting, the wings were juicy and did not appear to have been sitting around under a warming light. The sauce was tasty and the salad, fresh. Donatos has grown from a local spot to a regional chain to a subsidiary of McDonald's, but its pizza has stayed the same. The hallmarks of Donatos' style are thin, crisp crust, 100% provolone cheese, and edge-to-edge toppings. Personally, I rate the value of pizza by the pound, not by square inches or the number of teeny pepperonis you can squeeze onto a 14 inch pie. And I think provolone is just the wrong cheese to use on a pizza. It has a funny taste when you melt it. While I admire Donatos for perfecting its unique vision of what a pizza should be, I'm afraid I just don't share that vision. read more

What can I say...its like a cross between a pan pizza from pizza hut mixed with how you would make a deep dish pizza (sweeter sauce, layered toppings)...its weird. I bumped it down a star because this is my review and I'm honest; sorry hunny. If you like this kind of thing then koodo's for you. Sauce should taste robust and earthy, not sweet. The dough should taste like a fire licked it, not baked in a pan. and the toppings (which were great...I bumped them back up a star for that) should be plentiful and fresh. Cheese is most important, and for some reason Columbus (and Donato's) prefers using provalone rather then traditional motz. Weirdos lol. Like I said though...your pizza, your way. Just dont go here expecting anything but. On a different note, the wings were fantastic! They're like pizza's huts wings. We got bone-in sicne they have more flavor then boneless. Theyre expensive, and the pizza's are smaller then what I'm used to. Back home, our Large is your med, so that threw us off a bit and took some getting used to. For my husband, I'd go back. When I rolled into Columbus and wanted some lunch, my first thought was "What can I get here that I CANT get back home?" The immediate answer was Donatos "Pizza". Now, anyone who knows me knows that I am a pizza fascist. The further one gets from the NYC-New Haven corridor, the worse the pizza gets. Go far enough away, and it stops being pizza altogether. That said, I have an exception. While Donatos pizza generally is only a step up from a frozen Totinos, they somehow have managed to create the best Hawaiian Pizza I've ever had. Years ago I used to get it semi-regularly, and now that I live a long way from Ohio, I still find myself dreaming about it from time to time. Their Hawaiian is a red pie, topped with ham, pineapple, slivered almonds, and generously dusted with cinnamon. It's freakin' mindblowing. I also ordered a meatball sub. Good sandwich. The meatballs are small and kind of onion flavored. I like them, but i can see how some folks might not. Theres cheese and some thin, too sweet red sauce but only lightly applied. Best of all, the whole thing is on GARLIC BREAD! Yeah, hell of a way to kick it up! I've eaten Donatos pizzas for decades. The quality of their pizzas have been deteriorating for some time but I'm a faithful consumer. The pizza I tried to eat tonight will be the last. The sauce, the cheese, and the other toppings could barely be tasted because they were so scarce. A tomato and onion pizza surely deserves more than a few thin slices of tomato and some scattered pieces of onion.
