There is ample indoor and outdoor seating available. We were the only ones there at the time. I ordered a Big Don sandwich. This is a hot Italian sandwich with Italian dressing and a toasted bun. It was FANTASTIC! So delicious. The price was reasonable and the portion size is large. The menu offers pizza, wings and hot and cold sandwiches. I'm always on the hunt for the best pizza, and tonight we tried Donato's for the first time. We got the Classic Trio hand-tossed, and the Founders Favorite thin. Both were fantastic! The sauce is superb, like a Nonna slow-simmered it from a secret family recipe. It's vibrant, with a hint of sweetness and such depth of flavor. It's the perfect consistency and the perfect coverage on both types of crust. The house-recipe sausage is spectacular, and the thin crust stands up to the multiple toppings on the Founders Favorite. The hand-tossed crust is delicious and even more delectable dipped in the garlic butter. We ate half of them before I even got a picture, that's how good they are. Opted to order dinner through the website and ordered it for pick up. I ran in for my order and it was ready when I got there. The staff was friendly. I love how they slice the pizza in squares and it's more of a thinner crust pizza. We also ordered the italian salad the garlic cheese bread. The salad was crisp and fresh. Really awful pizza. Decided to order based on a lot of great reviews. I must say it was awful. Was basically like a store bought frozen pizza. This pizza chain has only been in the area for a couple of years but they have decent pizza. I have found that their pizza is typically made with a thinner crust unless you request otherwise, so based on your crust preference you may want to seek guidance when ordering to ensure that you get what you want. They offer a pepperoni thin crust that really is loaded with pepperoni and it's cut into little sections, the kiddos in my family seem to love this so I think it's a great choice for those ordering for younger kids. For the adults they do offer traditional pizzas with a variety of toppings, subs, wings, salads and cheesy bread. I was almost becoming a regular to Donatos because this is one of feww pizza place to provide a cauliflower crust. But today's experience was a total disaster. It was my first ever to take UNFINISHED pizza home. I ordered Very Vegy with plant-based sausage, and extra pineapple on a cauliflower crust, Italian salad with plant-based sausage, and calzone, online. When I opened them up at home, my pizza looked really red and without all the vegetables that I expected. Besides overpowering red sauce, there were mushrooms and cheese, plus yellow banana peppers that I didn't expect in Very Vegy. All other regular toppings including yellow onions, green olives, green peppers, spinach and roma tomatoes were all missing. Of course, I didn't find any pineapples that I added, either. Then, the crust was just thin crust, NOT cauliflower crust that I ordered. Then, I also chose plant-based sausage as my protein for Italian salad, but there were pepperonis, instead. How could it be happened? In fact, similar wrong order happened a few days ago, as well. Donatos gave garden dressing instead of basamic vinegarette, that I chose. Today was my third visit to Donatos. One time, I enjoyed my meal, though. I'm not sure how they would gain my trust back again because I'd like to order my food from the place where I can get the same foods and orders that I make an order, and give me the 'finished' dish. Price: With how bad the taste was, they should have paid me to eat their pizza....lmao. I give price a 0. Will I go again: I will definitely never go to this place again. I apologize if this review sounds very mean, but I want to be honest to other Yepers out there. I usually use Yelp and other apps before I go out to eat and most of my reviews are positive. Sauce had very little flavor, the mozzarella was burnt on top and to the sides of the to-go tin. The meatballs were tiny, and also lacked much flavor. This evening I placed an order through Uber Eats and after I had placed my order, I cut my hand (I'm in the process of moving) so I called and asked if they would be kind enough to toss a bandaid in the bag for me because I couldn't find mine. The person I spoke to on the phone honestly sounded happy to help- I wish I could remember his name (I called at about 8:45pm for reference). Not only were they really kind, but I got a cute little package of SIX bandaids from them!! THAT is good customer service. THAT is going the extra mile. Despite the rollercoaster reviews, we decided to give it a shot. When we arrived, there were no customers, but there was a nice young lady behind the counter. There were menus sitting in front of the register & decided to order the "Hot Chicken" (crispy hot chicken, pepper jack, jalapeños, pickles & ranch) & also got the asiago garlic bread. It only took a few minutes for the bread to come out, but it was lacking in flavor. We added parmesan cheese & garlic - even then, it still needed a kick. The pizza came out not too long after that & it wasn't bad. Interesting flavor, which we expected given what we ordered. 1 thing we didn't like was that there was only 1 set of shakers by the drink machine for things like cheese, red pepper flakes, garlic, etc. So you had to either take your food to them or feel like you were depriving the rest of the restaurant from using them. I wish there were more stars to give these guys!! We got in late and decided to UberEats some pizzas. As we watched the time keep going longer we decided to call the restaurant who informed us the pizzas were ready but no driver has come yet. We canceled our order with ubereats and reordered with the restaurant. We should have done that from the start! This staff went wayyyyy above and beyond when it came to service. They were very patient and understanding when we called about our order. They made us a fresh order even when it was past closing. They delivered it super fast and again we had the best service! Now time for the pizza, it's freaking amazing! The ingredients are fresh and the pizza is full of flavor! We got the pepperoni and margarita pizza! I was pleasantly surprised with my experience! I ordered a small 10 inch all meat pizza and a calzone to go for lunch, since we're amidst this COVID mess and that's the only choice. The pizza was for myself which I will happily admit I took the whole thing down. It was loaded with meat! They did not skimp on the toppings. Unlike a lot of pizza places, the bottom crust was not soggy at all! Had the perfect crisp. I did get the thinnest crust option so I'm not sure how they cook their other crusted pizzas. My husband got the calzone and we were both a little disappointed with how small it was but we agreed that the price reflects what you get. I was craving some of home. A Cincinnati native, living in west Ashley, trapped in the house with nothing to do, I decided to venture to Summerville for a taste of home. The restaurant was clean and felt right. The chicka that we paid, was nice and very polite. 31 minutes later, I got home to enjoy. The second those thin slices hit my mouth, every thing was great. My daughter(never having it) loved the 100 pepperonis on the pizza and the thin, tasty crust. The boneless wings are thick and taste awesome( better than most wing joints--I think I'm cincinnati the franchise won best wings???). Anyway, can't wait to venture out to get it again.
