We purchased three orders of Doner Plate to carry out. when we opened we found very dry meat, with a few so-so fries and two slices of cold tomato of the blandest kind. in the ad there seemed to be rich sauce covering the dish, which was missing, making the meal a hugely boring and disappointing one. Our first time trying this place out and it did not disappoint We order the iskender wich is a thing sliced steak topped with tomato sauce and butter, omg it was amazing the flavors were so fresh and authentic, the portions are big, we also got the cucumber salad and the baklava wich was so crispy and juice, all the food was excellent. By the number of people who I think were Turkish, then it must have some authenticity to it. I had the Doner sandwich for lunch and the Doner Iskender (?) for dinner another time. But did notice that other customers had their food bought to them before us and some of the people who came in were after us.. For our first time a disappointment. Complete food order came to us at approximately at 7:45... talked with manager about issue and was told "when there's a lot of orders it's takes more time especially if it's the same plate" Both females were laughing over "the mistake. Went here a few weeks ago and the Lagmacun was great. Babaganush although tasty was served without bread so was disappointing. Coban (sherpards) Salad had no dressing, no salt, no taste and with too much onion and parsley and barely any tomatoes. The doner and iskender looked and smelled great but was lacking a bit in taste. Needed more salt and/or marination. Kunefe was spot on. Service was pretty bad and the food came out of proper sequence (got lahmacun after iskender) and I had to go up to the register at least 3times to ask out missing items. Today we ordered to-go and again lahmacun was good but the doner had even less taste than before. It seems that the chef is not consistent with how he prepares it. The look and feel is just like in Turkey but not the taste. Also both times the ower/s were there just sitting on their laptop just ignoring the customers or issues that come up. They should either be a participant ot just not be there taking up space paying customers can use. Overall I will give this place a 3rd try sometime in the future but if the doner doesn't get better it will be the last time. Not worth the drive it takes to get there for sub par doner. read more
