It took 40 minutes to get my food even with prompting. The workers there do not prioritize orders and ignore what is coming off the printer. Another girl who came 20 mins after me got her order before me. Another alarming thing I saw was a worker taking a meat mix from the blender with her bare hands and throwing it into a container. It is not until it got too deep that she used a large commercial spoon. I have ordered here several times in the past and never had issues. Is it new staff? Do they just not care? They really were nonchalant about why my order was soo late. I will not return, and will instead visit the other stalls in the food court.

Overall Thoughts: Located in Chinatown's central Richland Center food hall, this spot serves up many wheat-based staples from Northern China. Overall, the food was decent and the owners are super sweet and friendly! I would love to come back to try their other menu items. Food I tried: - Spicy Beef Egg Pancake: It didn't look as I expected, but it was quite good and flavorful! The outer pancake was thick and crispy (though could've had more flavor), and the inside contents featured a nice combination of different flavors and textures. It was hearty and filling. The beef was a little overcooked. - Boiled Pork and Chinese Cabbage Dumplings: These were not bad, but I wasn't obsessed. I think they'd be better pan-fried or eaten with soup (you can ask them for a cup of the dumpling soup to eat it with!) The price is also a lot better than QXY next door though, and one of the more affordable dumpling options in Chicago's Chinatown. -- Price (relative to peers): 4.5/5 Food: 4.3/5 Ambience (food court): 4/5 Service: 5/5 Overall Value: 4.3/5

The pan fried baos and xiar bing are SO GOOD especially the xiar bing. This location is in the 88 marketplace food court upstairs

I was here shopping with family and decided to try out northern Chinese cuisine. The food was overall ok but not my favorite. Quality- the xiao long bao came out hot but a lot of them were already popped and the soup was outside of the bun which is unfortunate. The ones that didn't pop didn't have much soup in it. The siu mai were quite bland too. It had a lot of rice filling and the shrimp was very small. I prefer the traditional meat ones. Quantity - a decent amount came out for the price. It's definitely cheaper than most other dim Sum places in Chinatown. Atmosphere- nice food court area. Could be cleaner. Service- pretty fast.

Delicious. We had pan fried meat buns with a crunchy outside and warm, chewy inside. Staff were friendly and kiosks were provided to order from. 10/10 buns

These pork-filled dumplings were piping hot and delicious. The are filled with umami flavor, and you get 3 of them! Simply amazing. However, their youtiao was cold and not fresh. I think it's because we came near the afternoon, so they stopped making fresh ones.

This is the place to eat in Chicago in my opinion, and has made every other restaurant look bad…read more it's the absolute best meal in the city, at a great price, with a super awesome staff. I bring everyone i know here at some point. Only negative thing to say is that i no longer feel anything about anywhere else that I eat. Im okay with that though, because in my opinion this is how you run a restaurant. They are always full, but it is always worth the wait!

Sunday Funday with a fantastic first visit to a Chinatown gem!…read more I felt like Chinese food today, and rather than eating at my neighborhood regular, I wanted to go straight to Chinatown for the most delicious, authentic experience. Thanks to my deep dive and discovery on Yelp, MCCB turned out to be the perfect spot to achieve this. The restaurant has held its Michelin status for five years now, and for my first time visiting, the flavors here were incredible. Please note: the restaurant signage is not easily visible from the street since the storefront faces inward toward the mall plaza, and while looking for it, I ended up asking a local man and his wife for directions. He was so kind and welcoming that he unexpectedly left his wife on the sidewalk, my husband in the car, and walked me right across the street and into the mall to point it out from the inside! WAIT TIME: there is a 1 to 1.25 hour wait period to be seated for a table, and a $10 fee via credit card is required to secure your spot, which is then fully transferable to your bill upon checkout. The wait is a great time to walk, explore the shops, restaurants, all Chinatown has to offer, and get your steps and miles in! SERVICE: our first server, Allen, was a bit on the stiff, curt side, but overall nice. However, we had to move from a two-top table to a four-top to accommodate all the dishes we were trying. In that changeover, we were blessed to get one of the BEST servers there, Ashley, who made the experience wonderful. FOOD: we ordered an absolute feast, starting with three starters. The Cheng Du Style Dumplings were fantastic. The Crispy Crab Rangoons were actually not mini at all and had a great crunch. The Szechuan Style Cucumber was a bit underwhelming and a slight bit on the soft side for my tastes, as I prefer my veggies crunchy even when cooked. We ordered everything with the mild heat option so there was no overwhelming spice, just great flavor. For the main dishes, we started with the Cauliflower Flank Steak and added broccoli to it, which was a fantastic addition. It is cooked in an oyster sauce and has none of the standard sweeter seasonings of the other dishes. I chose this to balance a sweet and salty rationing across my dishes, finding that MCCB is a great place to get that perfect balance. The Chicken in Spicy Garlic Sauce was perfect with the mild heat option as well, and the Honey Black Pepper Flank Steak was also incredibly savory, tender, and good. We paired everything with garlic string beans, white rice, and a great jumbo shrimp fried rice. I preferred water, while my husband had a few Diet Cokes. The food comes out hot, fresh, and bursting with flavor. PARKING: parking is convenient--there is street parking or you can use the two north and south lots within walking distance. The north lot is on Archer and Wentworth, and the south lot is on Cermak and Wentworth. Validated parking is permitted for a maximum of 3 hours, and you will only pay $3 with the validation. Just make sure to stay within that time limit and get it validated, because if you go over the 3 hours or forget the validation, you will have to pay the full price for the lot. PRICE: the pricing here is very reasonable for a Michelin-recognized restaurant. Our dinner came out to just under $146 total, which offers phenomenal value given the large portions and top-tier quality. If you are seeking high-quality, delicious Sichuan food in Chinatown that completely lives up to its multi-year Michelin status, and can be customized perfectly to your spice comfort, this is a great place to go. Highly recommend and will return with family!

We ordered like the PERFECT amount of food and best variety. Roast duck: I honestly don't know if I've ever had duck before, but I'm a duck believer now. The skin on theirs was the perfect crispy shatter texture and the duck was sooooo juicy! I don't know why I was always so worried about it being gamey. They give you fluffy steamed bao buns, a sauce, and scallions on the side as well as duck fried rice! Turnip cake: Obviously a must any time I come to dim sum. I've never seen turnip in any other form than this. Japanese salt & pepper tofu: My FAVORITE dish ever. Any fried salt & pepper tofu always makes me happy. They use a creamy egg-like tofu and the outside is lightly crispy with amazing aromatics stir fried in. Steamed white rice on the side is perfect with this. Loved everything else my dinner buds picked and we were super full by the end! Service was good and food came out fast and scorching hot! ***Parking in the area is treacherous (not the restaurants fault, but reconsider driving if possible bc cell signal can be zero to none around the garages if you get lucky) ***Their website allows you to request a reservation as long as it's 3 hours before your desired time. We came on a Saturday evening around dinner time and there was plenty of room for us to get a table immediately as walk-ins!

We sat outside on a beautiful day and I definitely recommend the outdoor if it's nice out! The inside seemed big and a nice vibe for the winter. Service was good, I liked that they paced out the dishes for us. It really made the experience great! We shared everything. Loved the wings, the green beans, and I think all of our favorites was the duck fried rice! Soooo good and flavorful. The goat slap noodles and beef and broccoli were great too. Everything was super unique from traditional Chinese and nothing was too spicy! Definitely trust the experts. The wabbit season cocktail was good but I think I'd get another drink next time. A couple callouts on the mapo tofu, why does it not come with rice? Also the white rice we did have to buy as a side comes in a small bowl, making it difficult to scoop. The other mention is the overwhelming amount of peppercorn, taking away from the flavor and instead numbing the mouth. The green beans were not worth it and the chocolate sesame dessert was really disappointing to share. I don't recall much vanilla soft serve or chocolate shaved ice, if at all. The sesame flavor was really distracting away from the chocolate chunks and wasn't good overall. The service was weird with us not getting our rice right away with the green beans. We also had to ask about the noodles and it came out very late as we were almost done eating.
