This was our first time here... and it was great! This Latin fusion/Mexican inspired restaurant is a gem amongst many restaurants on Mamaroneck Ave. from maduros, to the honey roasted Brussels sprouts, to the churrasco to seafood paella.. we tried it all and we loved it all! We reserved outside seating and we were taken through the restaurant to this garden hideaway that sits behind the restaurant. Trees and flowers fill the surrounding area so you feel like you are immersed in a tropical oasis in the heart of lower Hudson valley. Jovani and Benjamin took care of us and satisfied our every need.. I even felt that they were two steps ahead of us making sure our glasses were never empty and our belly's were full. At the end of the night they surprised us with flan and tres leches cake and they were amazing. I usually don't eat flan from restaurants echase my mom makes the traditional Puerto Rican way, but this flan was to tie for, it even had a kick of strawberry which was refreshing on this warm night. The tres leches cake tasted like it was freshly made and loved was poured into the batter... I definitely recommend coming here if you are in the area, you will not be disappointed. And make sure to ask for Jovani and Benjamin by name, they will make sure you will have an amazing time! Came here for my sisters surprise 30th and we had such a good time! The food tasted amazing and the drinks...just WOW! I got the chicken fajita which although was very simple (just chicken and green peppers) , was probably one of the best fajita dishes I've had. Whatever seasoning was used was perfect. I also stuck with a classic margarita to drink and it was made perfect. I tasted someone else's drink (punch served in a pineapple) and that was amazing! Not only were the food and drinks good, the service was outstanding! Very attentive to the larger group and always had your next drink ready to go. They were also really helpful with setting up and decorating. They even created personalized menus for us and bought some balloons for decorations which was super nice. A must try!! read more

We were in the neighborhood, saw the good reviews! Went in. We were seated out in the back, in their patio. It was really nice there. Service was excellent! Not your traditional Mexican restaurant! Like I was happy, no chips and salsa! Really, because then you get filled up too fast. We went with fried Calamari, which was very good. My husband got the bistec. It came out sizzling! He said it was good. I will say, that had to be the best rice, I have had in a long long time. Full of flavor! Not that frozen yellow rice, these other Mexican restaurants give you with the frozen vegetables in it! I had the shrimp dish. It was good and plenty! Fresh mixed grilled veggies. We had sangrias! I had the roast pork, which didn't have any fat! it was served with sweet, plantains and rice with gandules (pigeon peas) . The portions are generous and not greasy. My husband had the ropa vieja both were totally delicious. I had a glass of Cabernet from the Napa Valley and my husband tried the spiced margarita, which had a kick! Prices were moderate . Had Sunday brunch here and the vibe was real different for Mamaroneck. I enjoyed this place very much. The staff was welcoming, and the DJ played great music. I haven't seen a place like this in Mamaroneck which makes it's special in its own way. The servers were very nice, their attire was a bit "different" didn't understand why it was necessary to be dressed that way, but didn't take away from the service. The food was good. I had the French toast which was very tasty, and my wife had the steak fajitas which she thought was just Ok. The steak could have been a bit more tender, but it was very well seasoned. We also had the coconut shrimp which was excellent. It was a straight up party in their on a Sunday and I was diggin it. I'd definitely be back for their main menu soon. read more

My experience at this restaurant was very pleasant. It was not busy, so we were seated right away. Our server, Augusto, was really helpful with answering my questions. He provided a great service to my friend and I. We shared conversation and laughed with him. It was very enjoyable. He also recommended one of the menu options (not pictured & can't remember name) and accommodated it to our liking. It ended up being one of our favorite choices along with the birria sushi roll. We did their Sunday special: unlimited sushi and $40 sangria pitcher. This was well spent. There are a few rolls that are not included in the special. We also noticed that most of the rolls did not come out warm, as preferred. Although they were a little cold, this did not alter our experience. The vibe of the restaurant was welcoming, pretty, and modern. The music was at a decent volume, where you can hear, but still have clear conversation. It is a great place for couples, friends and family. I highly recommend giving this place a shot and I do expect to return to try more of the options! read more

My wife and I wanted to try this place for a couple of years and finally had the chance to make it for a date night. We were excited at the opportunity and reserved a table. I took a look at yelp a day before our reservation and was worried about the complaints outside of the normal 5 star reviews. Let me say all concerns melted away. Our service was great, the drink were delicious, the food delectable. Very happy with our experience. Will be back. We had a fantastic meal last night at Donjito in Mamaroneck. We had a bunch of different dishes and everything was delicious. The staff was very sweet and accommodating, as well. I give it a thumbs up and look forward to going back for another visit. Here's what we had: coconut mojitos, regular mojitos, ambrosias (grey goose, st. germaine, blackberry puree and lime). They put chips and guacamole on the table when you arrive. For dinner, we enjoyed: a skirt steak tataki roll, mofongo, fajitas, el cubano sandwich, a coquito poquito bowl with sticky rice, coconut shrimp, fresh mango, sticky crab, cucumbers and avocado, and an al mofonguito bento box for two with steak, shrimp, a dragon roll and a salad. The Latin sushi is next level; so many interesting combinations and so much flavor. The Tres Golpes roll is perfection on a plate. I must have down something to offend this restaurant because the table on either side of mine got pretty good service and we were kind of forgotten. My husband and I ordered drinks and first he ordered wine (they didn't have it) and then beer (they didn't have that either). We were there for restaurant week and the food was fine. Then it was time to order dessert and the waiter never came back around. But asked the table next to us what they would like to order for dessert and to no surprise, one of the two dessert options they didn't have. After waiting a good amount of time, we asked for the check and ended up paying for a meal that we didn't even get the full amount. I don't like writing bad reviews but I just had to. Hey what can I say this place is it! The food drinks vibe is lit! Like many establishments I know places are short staffed but don't get discouraged if there is a wait it's worth it. The food is amazing I have been there 3 times this year and have never been dissatisfied yet! They on a role with me I can't wait to see what else there is on the menu to try! The wait staff is nice and professional and very welcoming so this makes for a great experience. I'm big in customer service and this place is A1. The bathrooms are clean and that's a plus for me nothing like a nice establishment and dirty restrooms. Cute back yard patio. All the appetizers are really good. I've never been impressed with the entrees here though. The cocktails need a little reworking. I appreciate they aren't too sugary sweet but they aren't really something to get excited over. Margaritas are like a c+. Wow! Where do I begin?! From the minute we walked in our host Benjamin greeted us at the door. Then he gave us a tour while we took pics and videos of the beautiful ambience inside the restaurant. We originally wanted to sit inside because the sun was coming down but Benjamin wanted us to see outside first and when we did it was such a nice setup that we stayed outside. This place is beautiful! They had drink specials one of them was a fishbowl w coconut ciroc in it so we ordered that! And the food was amazingggg! I ordered the steak w/ mashed potatoes and it was so flavorful! To top it off we got free shots on the house! I will def be coming because the customer service was so amazing! Well chosen menu offers very tasty and well cooked dishes together with excellent service all at reasonable prices. Very well decorated location. They have a back patio that is great for summertime. We went soon after their opening and found service to be a little scrambled, but I definitely have hope that things will pull together with a little time.
