Saw this place on the way home the other day and decided to try it out on Sunday for brunch. pros: EXCEPTIONALLY friendly and attentive staff. Hard to find good customer service these days. Place was kept very clean and tables were bussed immediately. The chicken wings were phenomenal. Dry with great seasoning and if you wanted hot sauce, it was everywhere. Waffle and pancakes were very tasty, almost tasted a hint of cinnamon perhaps. The waffle is thin for the record The potatoes were also seasoned very well and crispy which is the way I like it. Con: I would love to see fresh squeezed OJ on the menu. The food and the sparkling deserves it! Me and my friends stumbled across this place on our walk. We were greeted by Donny and we had a warm welcoming. We picked out our seat and we had to look at the menu and didn't know what to get! My friend decided to get tacos with beef bacon (there's no pork options), which was really really good. I got a pancake with six flats and a side of grits. I don't have a picture of the grits. They were yummy, nice consistency. They accidentally gave me a waffle, which was honestly better than the pancake that originally came with my meal. The customer service was nice. Sadly I was mislead and disappointed when I finally got around to trying it for myself. The tables inside are very small and uncomfortable and food was not good at all salty and under seasoned and the waffles were dry and just meh. We checked out, this place around 8 AM on Saturday morning! The look of the diner is so appeasing to the eye! I love the colors, it reminds me of a contemporary look of the old school 50s diner with the tall top chairs close to the kitchen. Their food is sooooo delish! Waffles are flat, very wide with great flavor! The 4 breakfast tacos w/ house sauce (interesting taste & compliments tacos) but were filling . Next time I will ask for pico de galio sauce when ordering; its so fresh! They do have a few things on the 2 standing digital menus (which you must use to place your order), to choose as an option which should be taken off until its an available option (mimosas & the wing confusion noted below). During my first visit, I chose the lemon pepper wings & fries option and later found out after my family received their food, 10+ minutes, that for some reason the breakfast kitchen doesn't receive the same printout if the order is placed for specialty Wings; it usually goes to the restaurant right next-door to it, Donny's Wings which does not open until 12 PM. I had to interrupt our birthday breakfast celebration to deal with this situation. The server is such a sweet woman with GREAT service! I visited this restaurant while in Los Angeles for my daughter's birthday. I ordered grits, eggs, and fish, and my daughter had pancakes and bacon. I want to start by saying the grits and eggs were very good, and my daughter enjoyed her meal as well. The fish, however, was not to my personal taste. When the waitress checked on us, I asked if I could substitute the fish for bacon. She said they don't allow substitutions, which I understood, so I simply asked if I could order bacon instead. She continued asking what I didn't like about the fish. After being asked a few times, I explained that TO ME the fish tasted a little artificial. I want to be clear that this was MY PERSONAL OPINION ABOUT THE TASTE, not an accusation about the ingredients. Shortly after, the owner came to the table and made a somewhat shady remark, saying that the fish was not artificial and adding that "IT'S NOT TILAPIA." I calmly explained that I NEVER SAID IT WAS ARTIFICIAL -- I SAID THAT'S HOW IT TASTED TO ME. Taste is subjective, and everyone experiences food differently. Later the waitress returned and told me the owner was offended by my comment. I apologized if my opinion offended him, but in a restaurant setting customers should be able to share honest feedback about what they like or don't like. Not every dish will suit every person's taste. What disappointed me most was not the fish itself, but how the situation was handled. I actually enjoyed other parts of the meal, but being confronted by the owner and told he was offended made the experience uncomfortable. I support Black-owned businesses and genuinely wanted to enjoy this visit, but customers should be able to share their personal opinions about food without feeling confronted for it. read more

My husband and I had been looking forward to checking out this restaurant. We walked in and didn't really know how seating worked so we stood there for a min. The main lady came to greet us and said that because we were 2, we couldn't sit in the 2 available tables because those were for 4 people and they needed them open in the event larger parties showed up. This was very odd and never encountered this in any restaurant before so our options were the bar (very uncomfortable) or outside in 90 degree weather. 10 min later 2 separate parties of 2 came and both were seated without a problem in the tables that were unavailable to us. I then asked for coffee and she said she could not get it for me until she got the food because there were "too many people in the back." Again, never had a restaurant refuse to bring out coffee. We ordered a dish that came with eggs whites but she continued to ask how we wanted the eggs. When we responded with "egg whites" she said this was a modification. The restaurant lacked hospitality and didn't show they cared about our business. Even the man that brought our food didn't seem to care from the way he spoke to us. Overall, we won't be returning but we wish them well. read more
