Been wanting to try Donnie's for awhile and finally decided to make the trip. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and seated. The inside is very aesthetically pleasing with a blueish tone and some murals. I forgot the name of the special I ordered but it had chicken wings and beef bacon with a side of grits and scrambled eggs. Now as someone raised in the south one of my biggest complaints is there are no spots in the valley where I can get a simple, traditional southern breakfast. Well, Donny's definitely fills that void for me and I'm excited to know I don't have to go to South L.A. or Long Beach just to get a breakfast that includes grits. I'll be back for sure.

the food was a good portion & good too!the waffles were yummy & they have hot sauces for the chicken which was fun to try. the potatoes had great seasoning. a heavy meal since its fried chicken & waffles, but thats expected so come hungry! customer service was great. its cute casual inside & looks very clean!

Waffle cooked crispy ( you have a choice) chicken drumettes, fried potatoes one soft scrambled egg. Rossi had the chicken breast.

The outside of the building got my attention because l could see inside too which was bright and cheerful supported by a beautiful mural. Wish l would have written down the name of the artist. The restaurant had this super clean feeling loved that. Our servers Shaem (should have asked him to spell it) and Sharquita were both kind and helpful with suggestions. They did point out no substitutions. I had enough to take some home. The potatoes were so delicious and crispy like the waffles which had a great flavor l can't quite figure out. Next time l go l will ask. The chicken cooked just right as well as my egg. My only complaint it took a little longer than l expected. Would l go again? ABSOLUTELY!

Overall, a decent experience. I came at first opening on a Saturday morning. Because it was so early the restaurant was empty. The restaurant was nice and clean. The service staff were friendly and very attentive. The place has a very homey feel, which I think is a plus. Pancake- 6/10 -very mushy Waffle- 8/10 (recommend over the pancake) Chicken - best thing I tasted all morning. Perfectly fried. Could use a bit more seasoning syrup and hot sauce take care of that problem. Mimosa- seemed premade (but I could be wrong). Absolute con- everything on the menu is as is. No substitution.

Me and my friends stumbled across this place on our walk. We were greeted by Donny and we had a warm welcoming. We picked out our seat and we had to look at the menu and didn't know what to get! My friend decided to get tacos with beef bacon (there's no pork options), which was really really good. I got a pancake with six flats and a side of grits. I don't have a picture of the grits. They were yummy, nice consistency. They accidentally gave me a waffle, which was honestly better than the pancake that originally came with my meal. The customer service was nice. I will definitely go back and try it again.

Chicken & waffles with potatoes and that good ole homemade lemonade. 10/10 Chicken & Waffle

They use Onyx (from what i noticed), and the sound of the milk being steamed sounded silky (-: ! I think saw they used a bottomless portafilter ? Might have mis-seen. But for those unfamiliar, bottomless doesn't divide your shots into two physical shots. so it looks like "one" shot. but it would be 2 shots if it had that attachment. Shots are dialed by weight, so your coffee will be consistent! The layout of the cafe is nice: entry/line formation moves in a counter clockwise motion. Allows customers to enter space and wait in line while leaving space for people to exit/ wait to pick up their drink. First come, first serve for pastries - expect this for freshness purposes. Drink and their components are measured for consistency and quality control. Wait is subjective in relation to volume at the time which you go. Came in at about 1:30 PM on a Sunday (today was 8/16). Curated menu for their specialty drinks that aligns with their identity. Standard menu for espresso based beverages. Great selection for their Single Origin menu. Roasters they use align with those they highlight on their shelves for retail as a multi-roaster cafe. Ordered a Columbia from Hydrangea - enjoyed thoroughly! When it was still quite hot you get the heavy aroma and flavor of the pastry notes in the coffee. Then more tea-like once it cools down more. Coldbrew in the Woodman did not feel like your typical bold-in-flavor base. Which I think works for the inclusions in the beverage. Not your typical/second wave coffee shop. It's cool to see shops want to bridge that gap between fun drinks and specialty coffee! Kudos to Lynx!

Tried Lynx Coffee this past weekend and got the Magnolia with oat milk…read more The coffee itself was decent, and the cold foam was honestly really good, I'd give the drink itself a 3/5 on taste alone. But the price for the size just isn't worth it. It came out to $10 per drink after tax, making it one of the most expensive coffees on Ventura Boulevard. Worth noting, their matcha powder is actually sourced from Kettl. We've been to the actual Kettl cafe in East Hollywood and their matcha lattes were cheaper than what Lynx is charging here, even using the same matcha. That says a lot about the markup. You can drive down to Rok Cafe, Yala Cafe, or plenty of other cafes on the same block and get a comparable, if not better, coffee for a significantly better price. On top of that, the cup was about 90% ice, so the drink gets watered down fast, even before you're done with it. Overall just not happy with the value here. 2/5. If this review helped, a thumbs up is always appreciated

Most places don't quite hit that invisible bench mark I've set inside my head. A friend and I came in at lunchtime intending to order lunch and coffee, but we had to leave without ordering because there was nowhere to sit. About ten of the available tables were each occupied by a single person working on a computer. I understand that cafés can be comfortable places to work, but in such a small space, it would be helpful if Saint placed some limits on laptop use during busy meal hours. Customers coming in to enjoy lunch or coffee together should also have a reasonable chance of finding a table. I truly hope they address this, because I would like to keep supporting this lovely neighborhood café.

Actually, all of their employees. Place was packed. Wanted to see and know the sizes of the cups for me to decide which one to go with and the price difference. I went with a medium size hot decaf (one shot) Vanilla Latte with Macadamia Milk. Also got a Blueberry Muffin and a plain butter Croissant. I thought that they would also have some breakfast items like egg, bacon, sausage, cheese etc..they didn't. They only had plain bagel and Cream Cheese. My Latte tasted very good, on the flip side the Croissant wasn't as warm and fresh as I wanted for it to be. I asked the ladies behind the counter to warm it up again. The muffin was very fresh and delicious. Lauren handed me the Latte and my goodies. I don't want to dock a star for the Croissant, but it could have been a lot more fresh. Place was clean, with one gender neutral restroom, inside and outside seating, and the price was right for the 3 items that I got. $14.00 in total plus my tip of $2.00. Street parking only, woman owned, beautiful art work on their walls by famous artists, merchandise for sale, and nice music from the 80's playing overhead. Last but not least, under the businesses amenities page it says, no dogs allowed. It was dogs galore inside and outside. No offense to people who have dogs, but outside is ok, not inside..

The coffee can be bitter, and sometimes you order a vanilla latte and can barely taste any vanilla. But Cara Vana gets it right. Their Horchata Iced Latte is absolutely delicious! I always get iced coffee, and this one has quickly become a favorite. It is definitely on the sweeter side, which is exactly how I like my coffee, but they have no problem modifying the sweetness if you prefer it less sweet. The horchata flavor is actually distinct and tastes SO good with the coffee. It doesn't just get lost in the espresso. The shop itself is also really cute, with a modern Latino flair that gives it a great atmosphere. And of course, I love supporting Latino-owned businesses! The staff are always so kind and welcoming, too, which makes the experience even better. And I have to mention the green burrito and the salsa they serve with it. Both are a MUST try! Great coffee, great food, cute atmosphere, and genuinely nice people. Definitely check this place out if you're looking for a good local coffee shop!

The barista was playing games on his phone while I was speaking to him, and I could clearly see that he was still on his phone because of the way he was positioned. I was already frustrated by the lack of attention, but things got worse after I finished ordering. After I tapped my card, I was told that there had been a mistake and that I had only been charged 9 cents, so I needed to come back and pay again. Mistakes happen, and I would have completely understood if he had simply apologized and handled the situation professionally. Instead, he continued playing on his phone while dealing with me. The entire interaction came across as incredibly rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. Customer service should be the bare minimum, especially when someone is taking the time to come into your establishment and spend their money. Unfortunately, this experience was enough to make me realize that this would be my first and last visit. There are plenty of coffee shops where customers can get good coffee and basic courtesy.
