Chicken & waffles with potatoes and that good ole homemade lemonade. 10/10 Chicken & Waffle

Great food and great customer service! Tried this place for the first time today and would definitely recommend. The chicken & waffles and country potatoes were amazing, everything was seasoned and cooked to perfection and that homemade lemonade...10/10!

Overall, a decent experience. I came at first opening on a Saturday morning. Because it was so early the restaurant was empty. The restaurant was nice and clean. The service staff were friendly and very attentive. The place has a very homey feel, which I think is a plus. Pancake- 6/10 -very mushy Waffle- 8/10 (recommend over the pancake) Chicken - best thing I tasted all morning. Perfectly fried. Could use a bit more seasoning syrup and hot sauce take care of that problem. Mimosa- seemed premade (but I could be wrong). Absolute con- everything on the menu is as is. No substitution.

Me and my friends stumbled across this place on our walk. We were greeted by Donny and we had a warm welcoming. We picked out our seat and we had to look at the menu and didn't know what to get! My friend decided to get tacos with beef bacon (there's no pork options), which was really really good. I got a pancake with six flats and a side of grits. I don't have a picture of the grits. They were yummy, nice consistency. They accidentally gave me a waffle, which was honestly better than the pancake that originally came with my meal. The customer service was nice. I will definitely go back and try it again.

We checked out, this place around 8 AM on Saturday morning! The look of the diner is so appeasing to the eye! I love the colors, it reminds me of a contemporary look of the old school 50s diner with the tall top chairs close to the kitchen. Their food is sooooo delish! Waffles are flat, very wide with great flavor! The 4 breakfast tacos w/ house sauce (interesting taste & compliments tacos) but were filling . Next time I will ask for pico de galio sauce when ordering; its so fresh! They do have a few things on the 2 standing digital menus (which you must use to place your order), to choose as an option which should be taken off until its an available option (mimosas & the wing confusion noted below). During my first visit, I chose the lemon pepper wings & fries option and later found out after my family received their food, 10+ minutes, that for some reason the breakfast kitchen doesn't receive the same printout if the order is placed for specialty Wings; it usually goes to the restaurant right next-door to it, Donny's Wings which does not open until 12 PM. I had to interrupt our birthday breakfast celebration to deal with this situation. The server is such a sweet woman with GREAT service! (Hope she gets paid very well) She frequently checked in to ensure we were comfortable & satisfied. Overall a 4.7

I forgot exactly how I first stumbled upon Cafe de Olla, but I've come here with my family a few…read moretimes, and we've definitely decided this location is better than the Monrovia one. First, their cafe de olla is absolutely delicious. This remains one of the only places where I genuinely enjoy ordering cafe de olla. Second, their food is incredible. They serve excellent portions, everything tastes fresh, and the food is just so good. I've had their taquitos and chilaquiles, and both were delicious. The only downside is that every time I've come, there has usually been a bit of a wait, especially because the restaurant itself is pretty small with limited seating. The inside is cute, but small, so we usually end up sitting outside. This is where their Monrovia location does have the advantage because it has much more space. Parking can also be tricky. Good luck finding a spot close enough where you don't have to walk far. We usually end up parking in the residential area around the corner. That said, the staff are wonderful and always try to be as accommodating as possible despite how busy they are. Highly recommend this place if you're okay with possibly waiting a bit for seating. The food and cafe de olla are worth it.

I came with a friend who is a regular and she gave me a lot of good recommendations of what to order. The menu is quite large, filled with tons of delicious Mexican breakfast options! I'm a big machaca fan, so that's what I ordered. As an appetizer, we got the molletitos with chorizo and OMG! It was absolutely delicious. I got to taste my friend's huevos divorciados and the sauce was so delicious. My machaca was different than what I have had at other restaurants, a little on the dry side, but I enjoyed it. Loved the rice and beans it came with! Another highlight was the Cafe de Olla itself! I think I downed like 4 cups of it, it was so delicious. Service here was fantastic. Highly recommend!

Of course, Studio City has a village full of good restaurant choices, but since I was already a fan of their other location on the Westside, The Six on Pico Blvd., I decided to give this one a try. So Saturday brunch it was! We arrived earlier to avoid crowds at 10:45, and we had the place all to ourselves until 11:15. Reservations were made via Yelp, but we obviously didn't need them. I was a bit surprised, but small groups eventually trickled in slowly. ** THE CHOW ** My brunch date ordered a California omelet, made with brie, red bell, caramelized onions, and topped with half an avocado. The breakfast potatoes on the side were very yummy and the omelet was tasty too. Did I mention I'm a glutton for brunch? Well, I decided to eat one like one. And the Knife & Fork Chicken + Waffles was just right for my appetite. It satisfied the fried chicken cravings I had racked up over an entire week. I liked that the chicken was boneless, skinless, buttermilk-battered, and crispy. The fancy "red devil gravy" is basically a watery Tapatio for dunking or (if you're like me) for drowning your chicken in heat. Don't worry, they've got Cholula as well. Also, I love the effort in naming this menu item. However, I was a bit disappointed to find out that the jalapeño rosemary syrup on the online menu was only regular maple syrup IRL. Overall, the waffles are quite dense so it adds a good balance of hot 'n' sweet. ** THE SERVICE ** Servers at The Six were attentive. Food was delivered quickly. There were frequent check-ins with various staff members at each of the tables. The wait staff worked well together, covering each other's duties -- that was nice to see. ** THE VIBE ** There are lots of Instagram-worthy backdrops and charming little signs strewn around the restaurant. The decor and vibe give a nod to the "Society of Six" artists from the 1920s Prohibition era, who lived together in a cabin in Northern California that they dubbed the "Chow House", where they inspired each other in creating art. The reclaimed wood planks and cast iron skillets are used as plates on several menu items as a subtle accent and cozy, cabin vibe. I imagine twinkle lights add to the effect during the evening time. Next time I want to shovel brunch into my pie hole like a bottomless mimosa glass, I'll come back for the Apple Pie French Toast. That's with a side of bacon (not the bacon inside the French toast as the menu writeup may suggest). I hear that the cinnamon apple pie filling is amazing. I guess I'll have to come back for seconds and pair it with a bottomless Mimosa for $25 (avail Saturdays & Sundays, 10am - 3pm).
