I brought that paperwork to Ricks and asked them to fix my car and anything else needed. Keith gave me a verbal quote of $695. Again, I trusted them from past service. Agreed to the verbal quote. The O2 sensor was replaced- CEL off. Unfortunately, VSC & TRAC OFF are still on. Rick's doesn't have the equipment to clear those codes/fix this problem on any LEXUS. They suggested I go to a dealer and try to get a free fix on an expired service bulletin/recall- no luck there. I'm happy the CEL is off. I'm disappointed that I didn't get a full fix especially when I was told they are a full service shop that day by 2 different people. Sadly, I should have insisted on a printed quote and I will from now on.

And... the same exact parts were $250 more than at AutoZone or at O'Reilly Auto Parts. I learned an expensive lesson... always get a written estimate! Warranty: Regarding the markup of parts for a that 2 year/24,0000 mile warranty... most manufactures of rotors already offer a lifetime warranty for defects. Written Estimate: Essential to avoid miscommunication. Unless your installing windshield wipers... every single customer that is quoted hundreds of dollars for services should automatically be provided with a written estimate period! Cutting Corners: A reasonable assumption would be one in which auto mechanical repair jobs are inherently associated with areas of safety concerns. What jobs wouldn't be & how does that justify price gouging? Discount: If you suffered a foodborne illness after dining in a restaurant would you accept a discount or complementary meal for your inconvenience?

In June, I had a cooling hose replaced and front breaks there also, but they didn't install the hose clamps properly and caused fluid to continue to spray all over my engine and under neath my car, by july ( a few weeks later) something was dragging under my car and I went in (kinda freaked out, seemed dangerous) but LouLou said they were at lunch and to come back in an hour- (a few people sitting in the office eating) .... so I came back in two hours BUT it looked like tHE mechanic and the Lady were leaving and the lady told me to come back the next MONDAY, very dismissive , but then the man got out of his car and ripped the hanging part out from my car and said it should be fine, .... I was stunned. It was 3:30 on Friday afternoon- and front desk girl wanted to go home- dismissed me again. NOW 2026, I got a new mechanic, of course..and the new mechanic said there are several issues including the battery and under my car there is a small hole in a hose which caused a slow oileak and splashed OIL under my car because there was no cover.... Leaving it exposed to road debris. My car is older but I have taken it in anytime I had the slightest issues. But now $5k later it's in worse shape than ever and would be thousand of dollars to clean and repair all these issues. My car is the shop again, Again because my battery- so Today- I called Sonoma auto to check the warranty on the battery they installed and got nothing but rude helpless answers from the front desk person. . Sh treats me like I annoyed her. Except, I'm a paying customer. Not there to make friends with LouLou. She's rude or she's just covering for the faulty services I received. Or both- sometimes, just taking reasonability for action is all a person needs to hear. But being meet with more dismissive behavior will only add fuel to the fire. Take responsibility, be accountable and treat customers like customers.

He refuses to work on cars if you provide your own parts--even if they're coming directly from the dealership (the same place he gets them). It's obvious it's all about his profit margins. He also won't work on a car if another shop has touched it. Craig is the type of mechanic who'll find every excuse to avoid a job, which is the opposite of what I'm looking for. What is clear, is that he would have been in over his head. He assumed that because another shop was having difficulty identifying the problem, he certainly could not. And after speaking with him, I have to agree. To top it off, he acted unprofessionally by reaching out to the other shop where the car was before I had even spoken to him. What was he thinking? It's clear he's a rogue mechanic with little regard for basic professionalism. When I take my car to a shop, I expect a seasoned, friendly, and understanding professional who knows how to get things done. Craig's attitude is a huge turn-off, and I wouldn't trust him with my vehicle. There are plenty of other, more experienced, and friendlier mechanics in the area who don't have such a condescending outlook. I'd strongly recommend avoiding this place and find a professional shop. I will be reaching out to the Local MBZ Dealer and sharing my experience with Hammond and suggesting an alternative referral in the future!

This place is a Godsend!…read more I stopped in a couple of months ago with an auxilery battery issue. Under normal circumstances this would be an easy "at home" fix. But on this day, I did not have one simple tool to be able to replace the batter. I did a quick Yelp search and found Hammon Autowerks loaded with five star ratings and just about a mile down the road from me. I stopped in expecting 1. That I would need to make an appointment. 2. The normal two hour minium being charged. In the end, none of the above happened. I was charged a minimal amount for the battery and the labor. The end result is, this place has earned my business and will continue to bring my car in for normal service and anything else that needs to be addressed.

Staff there are super friendly, and I feel comfortable they know what they're doing. It leaked even after the repair. Travis took the car back 3 times at no charge to fix the stubborn issue. We will continue to come here for all our auto repair needs.
