We didn't order a hot meal on this visit, but we'll definitely be back to try one. The market section is also worth browsing. They carry a wide selection of pastas, sauces, olive oils, canned tomatoes, and other Italian staples. My only suggestion would be to expand the specialty pasta selection with options like squid ink, spinach, or roasted red pepper varieties. Of course, we couldn't leave without visiting the bakery case. We brought home an assortment of Italian cookies, a black and white cookie, a Napoleon, chocolate cannolis, and a brownie. The brownie was the one item that didn't impress us, but everything else was delicious and tasted fresh. One thing to be aware of is parking. The lot is quite small, and both we and several other customers ended up parking across the street. It's not necessarily something the business can control, but it's worth mentioning if you're visiting during a busy time. The fact that this shop has been around for decades says a lot about the quality and loyal customer base they've built over the years. Overall, we had a very good experience and are looking forward to returning to explore more of the deli offerings.

I've yet to find a place that makes this well until today. Originally I ordered chicken broccoli Alfredo, which came as their broccoli pasta dish sauce tasted like a garlic olive oil sauce (super tasty). I was bummed because I had my heart set on Alfredo. I did call them to ask what I was charged for, the guy told me I wasn't charged for Alfredo but said let me just whip it up real quick for you. I am extremely picky about my Alfredo, this was so creamy and delicious definitely tasted like a handmade sauce and not jar like I've gotten in the past. This place, which I stumbled on to, is the best in so many ways. I have tried several different dishes from their diverse menu and I have been very pleased with every dish. The sauces are perfect, the ingredients are fresh and of high quality and the staff is very friendly. If you're into $5 pizzas then this place is not for you. We had six in our party and needed a highchair. Seating was "odd" with the only practical table so big in the corner but not useful because of the way it's arranged. The temperature was 85 inside with only a dirty fan blowing hot air for relief. The bathrooms where closed and a yellow tape kept you from even washing your hands! The employees, (maybe owner and wife?) had nothing to say, no smiles, and little to suggest you matter to them. (This is crucial) When you work very hard to put out a good product and business is good, you get very tired, but don't forget to appreciate your clientele, they also work very hard for the money they're very willing to give you on the other side of your cash register. It works both ways. Cleanliness was just okay, but bordering tattered and dirty! This is also a confusion for me. Re-invest in your atmosphere. It's really not that expensive if you keep up on the little things and not let it become a huge turn off. I would hope this critique would be constructive not a put down. As I mentioned, "the pizza was actually very good", we just live too far for take-out.
