I ordered the wagyu New York strip ($125) , medium. it was tough and chewy, nothing like a wagyu hybrid should be, our waitress was clearly in some type of mood and kept suggesting that we didn't order enough and being pushy to order more food. We already ate 3 hours before, we didn't need more food. Her service was subpar and she gave us barely any attention and had someone else serve us our food. This place is all hype, the same chewy beef came with the surf and turf at the table next to us. I spoke with them about it and we were both shocked that a place with awards for their steaks would bring us meat like this. At $15/oz the meat should melt in your mouth, but instead we got chewing gum. The Mac and cheese was great! The fries were mediocre at best (no seasoning) tasted like frozen fries do. read more

Ate at Don's Prime with my girlfriend who is a professional athlete. I'm 53 she is 35 years old doesn't drink. She didn't order alcohol. She 5 ft tall. Very lean. Does look younger but definitely not under age. The restaurant called security to report I was with someone under age. As we exit the restaurant the head of security aggressively stopped us and ID'd us. After IDing us and realizing we're 53 and 35 years old they walked into the restaurant to report our ages to the manager. It was the most awkward thing I think I've had happen at a restaurant. Dons Prime next time ask for a ID versus have your guest accosted by security. Most underage women don't carry a $11,000 Chanel purse. Have a six pack and speak multiple languages. Thanks for the opposite of hospitality. Next time ask for ID yourself. Obviously won't be returning. read more

Absolutely incredible experience at Don's tonight! I had the privilege of being part of the Las Vegas Leadership group, and we could not have been more taken care of! The service was quick and wonderful and everyone was friendly and amazing. Our servers Kaitlin and Jennifer and David were unbelievable and kept everything moving through our prix fix meal. We started with asparagus risotto, Caesar salad, and the house salad for the table and all 3 were unbelievable. Caesar was the winner for me but again everything was 10 out of 10. For my meal I had the filet mignon with buttery mashed potatoes and a red wine au jus, and again, 10 out of 10. Literally the potatoes melted in my mouth and the steak was cooked to absolute perfection. We ended the night with the s'mores, carrot cake, and creme brulee, and all 3 were incredible, but the creme brulee was maybe the best I've ever had. Couple all this with the amazing service and the delicious craft cocktails, and I was absolutely blown away. If you're in town, Don's is the way to go. We like good food, but we have palettes that are attuned to comfort -- not fancy Michelin 3 star (I prefer 1 star flavor tbh). Rocky was great, and accommodated speedy service when we both noticed my wife was hangry and getting frustrated while I spent 10 min asking about various wagyu types and cows... Had the Snake River Wagyu NY Strip (10/10) and the Filet (10/10). The corn soup was out of this world, the pretzel sticks loved by my son. I would have to say that the salmon and lava cake I had were perhaps the best I've ever had! The salmon was quite flavorful, and moist, with crispy skin. we're not too sure why the restaurant is so drastically different between the bar area, main dining, and back dining room. bar area is the first area as soon as you enter the restaurant, a little stuffy and crowded. main dining room felt more casual and well-lit. the back dining room is velvety maroon and dimly lit, much more formal. the serving team could be more finetuned as we we had a team of 3 but none of them talked to each other so we were asked if we wanted drinks from 2 different people. when the bread came we were offered only pretzel when other tables were offered the brioche and pretzel at the same time. our brioche finally came during our main course- with no explanation. our final straw was our scoop of ice cream for dessert took about 30 minutes to come out while we were twiddling our thumbs. steak was great, don't get me wrong, but there wasn't anything to go with it nor swimming in sauce / butter. i get that it's no frills, our filet was good. i was starting to tell my husband i like don's prime over ocean prime, but i took that back midway through the meal. read more

Everything was unbelievably salty and I had to stop eating the food because it was making me feel a little unwell. Bone in rib eye is my favorite cut of meat because of the juiciness and flavor. For $110 I was shocked at how dry and salty it was. I ordered it medium rare but it was more in the medium well side. We also ordered the creamed spinach, whipped potatoes, Mac and cheese and potatoes au gratin. All of the sides were also full of salt. It was very disappointing. For the price of the food, you'd expect top quality but it seems like someone is in the kitchen just dumping salt over everything. First time eating here and it was solid. I grabbed a spot at the bar and the service was great. I ate my usual items with ribeye, wedge, and both were solid. People around me ordered deserts and they all looked fantastic! I was too full but decided to pass, but will try when I return. Ambience was nice like a typical steakhouse. The service and ambience was 100% and awesome but honestly Ive never felt so bothered by the food to have to leave a review. For appetizers we started with the mushroom risotto which was extremely salty. At first my boyfriend and I thought maybe its because we opted to not have alcohol and coming out of an all day conference we assumed it was just maybe an US thing. So we decide to just wait to eat the risotto with our main course. Main course we got the bone in ny steak which was cooked perfectly. But again was EXTREMELY SALTY. We had to avoid the seared area because it was so salty... Again now we realized there was no point in waiting to eat it with the risotto since both were salty. It just got worse...the creamed spinach was as salty as the risotto. We could not finish and at this point my gums and tongue were so uncomfortable from the salt overload. We also got a lobster tail which was a bit bearable but only because we drenched it in lemon to reduce the saltiness. I was exhausted and felt so disappointed that this was the quality of the food. Two tables down from us the table actually sent back their steak because it was so salty and I wish we were given the option but sitting through an almost two hour meal with salt overload and hoping the next course would get better at the end we were exhausted. It was crazy... my boyfriend and I were sitting in pain.. his fingerprints were all dehydrated and wrinkly from this overload. When the waitress asked us how our meal was I had told her our experience and it kind of felt like it wasn't a surprise but an "im sorry but oh well" kind of environment. Our meal was almost $250++ for two people and to walk out feeling nauseous and palpitating pain from over-seasoned food was crazy! The meal made their salted-pretzel bread seem like it was missing salt. I hope management reads this review and makes it right. It would have probably saved me more money to cancel my reservation then dine here. read more

We came in here with no reservations right after the ACT Expo closed, and though there weren't any tables immediately available they let us sit in the bar where we found a nice corner booth! Even though the bar area suddenly became packed with convention goers, service was still good. We didn't find a Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc on the wine list which surprised us but the sommelier Robert, came out to explain to us an alternative which was very good. We ventured into the Fontaine Bleau at 9pm to take a look around and grab a late Dinner. We landed on Don's Prime and we had an exceptional experience! Isaiah, Rob and Richie were our dream team, they kept the evening fun and lite even with a couple of my wonky requests! We started with French 75 cocktails, and ordered the Shimp Cocktail tails which were large and both sauces were very nice! The complimentary pull apart Parmesan bread was delicious! We had a New York Strip and the Salmon. Both cooked to perfection. Since it was late we passed on dessert. All that was wonderful along with a very nice modern take on steakhouse decor with some Jazz music playing and the incredible staff made the experience wonderful. Bravo Don's Prime! read more

This is truly a wonderful dining experience. The place is magnificently decorated with fresh floral bouquets. You'll feel very special with four servers attending to your table. One of the best new steakhouses on the strip!! From the moment you walk in and greeted the entrance has an amazing bar with some of the rarest selections of scotch and whiskey. If your pappy van winkle fan they have several selections. We had a cocktail at the bar before sitting down for dinner. Bartender made a great recommendation did a whiskey base cocktail. Once seated our server James introduced himself and co waiter. Describing the menu in detail and bringing out cuts of meat on a board to see the level of marble on the wagyu snow beef. We then shared appetizers and moved on to shared sliced steaks. The bread is a brioche that pulls apart and very nice presentation. Beef carpaccio has a unique presentation on layered potatoes. All flavors were on point the steaks were cooked to perfection and the sommelier Ryli paired a light bodied french wine to go great with the mushrooms risotto and steaks. We added on table side truffle to the mushroom risotto which was a nice touch. My friends and I decided to give Don's Prime a try for my husband's birthday! It was 5 of us, we were sat at a table that would comfortably sit 4 but 5 was too much. We were greeted right away and drink recommendations were given. Our server made a drink for me and my husband ordered an Old Fashioned. His was supposed to be a fancy smoked Old Fashion but the machine didn't work. We received a delicious bread before our dinner order was taken.
