We ventured into the Fontaine Bleau at 9pm to take a look around and grab a late Dinner. We landed on Don's Prime and we had an exceptional experience! Isaiah, Rob and Richie were our dream team, they kept the evening fun and lite even with a couple of my wonky requests! We started with French 75 cocktails, and ordered the Shimp Cocktail tails which were large and both sauces were very nice! The complimentary pull apart Parmesan bread was delicious! We had a New York Strip and the Salmon. Both cooked to perfection. Since it was late we passed on dessert. All that was wonderful along with a very nice modern take on steakhouse decor with some Jazz music playing and the incredible staff made the experience wonderful. Bravo Don's Prime! read more

One of the best new steakhouses on the strip!! From the moment you walk in and greeted the entrance has an amazing bar with some of the rarest selections of scotch and whiskey. If your pappy van winkle fan they have several selections. We had a cocktail at the bar before sitting down for dinner. Bartender made a great recommendation did a whiskey base cocktail. Once seated our server James introduced himself and co waiter. Describing the menu in detail and bringing out cuts of meat on a board to see the level of marble on the wagyu snow beef. We then shared appetizers and moved on to shared sliced steaks. The bread is a brioche that pulls apart and very nice presentation. Beef carpaccio has a unique presentation on layered potatoes. All flavors were on point the steaks were cooked to perfection and the sommelier Ryli paired a light bodied french wine to go great with the mushrooms risotto and steaks. We added on table side truffle to the mushroom risotto which was a nice touch. My friends and I decided to give Don's Prime a try for my husband's birthday! It was 5 of us, we were sat at a table that would comfortably sit 4 but 5 was too much. We were greeted right away and drink recommendations were given. Our server made a drink for me and my husband ordered an Old Fashioned. His was supposed to be a fancy smoked Old Fashion but the machine didn't work. We received a delicious bread before our dinner order was taken. Hubby ordered a steak and I sea bass with spinach as a side. I had the risotto as an appetizer and it was so good!! It should be a main dish!! The atmosphere is very upscale. The service was great other than the issue with the smoke machine. For the price point that machine should always work. First time eating here and it was solid. I grabbed a spot at the bar and the service was great. I ate my usual items with ribeye, wedge, and both were solid. People around me ordered deserts and they all looked fantastic! I was too full but decided to pass, but will try when I return. Ambience was nice like a typical steakhouse. Overall, great experience and I would strongly recommend if you're staying at the Fountain Bleu. If you're not at the hotel, it's online with many of the other spots on the strip so I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way as there wasn't anything which made it stand out vs others on the strip like SW, etc... The service and ambience was 100% and awesome but honestly Ive never felt so bothered by the food to have to leave a review. For appetizers we started with the mushroom risotto which was extremely salty. At first my boyfriend and I thought maybe its because we opted to not have alcohol and coming out of an all day conference we assumed it was just maybe an US thing. So we decide to just wait to eat the risotto with our main course. Main course we got the bone in ny steak which was cooked perfectly. But again was EXTREMELY SALTY. We had to avoid the seared area because it was so salty... Again now we realized there was no point in waiting to eat it with the risotto since both were salty. It just got worse...the creamed spinach was as salty as the risotto. We could not finish and at this point my gums and tongue were so uncomfortable from the salt overload. We also got a lobster tail which was a bit bearable but only because we drenched it in lemon to reduce the saltiness. I was exhausted and felt so disappointed that this was the quality of the food. Two tables down from us the table actually sent back their steak because it was so salty and I wish we were given the option but sitting through an almost two hour meal with salt overload and hoping the next course would get better at the end we were exhausted. It was crazy... my boyfriend and I were sitting in pain.. his fingerprints were all dehydrated and wrinkly from this overload. When the waitress asked us how our meal was I had told her our experience and it kind of felt like it wasn't a surprise but an "im sorry but oh well" kind of environment. Our meal was almost $250++ for two people and to walk out feeling nauseous and palpitating pain from over-seasoned food was crazy! The meal made their salted-pretzel bread seem like it was missing salt. I hope management reads this review and makes it right. It would have probably saved me more money to cancel my reservation then dine here. read more

Brittany was amazing as our server in the lounge. We love the NY Strip and share it with a side or two. The whipped potatoes are buttery and the Mac and cheese is super cheesy! We celebrate our anniversary at Don's Prime on a last minute trip to Vegas. I was really looking forward to the crab bucatini but they had stopped serving it the night before. Needless to say I was really sad and disappointed. But Rachel, one of our servers, tried her best to see if they could make an exception but no luck. So I went ahead and ordered the salmon out the branzino and soles since seafood is what I was going for. The food, the service, and everything was just amazing. Rachel, Angel, and Giovanni really made our night extra special. The only constructive criticism is that the whipped potatoes and roasted wild mushrooms were a bit too salty. We're in Las Vegas on a guys golf trip We had a Friday night reservation for 6 at Don's. The appetizers and drinks came out quickly and were very good. Then the problems with service started. The waiter would disappear for long periods of time. We were there for 2 1/2 hours. When the steaks arrived they were all over cooked. The manager came over and apologized. His comment "steaks are our bread and butter. You would think we could cook them to the right temperature". They ended up comping 3 of the steaks, and quite honestly should have comped the entire meal. Without 3 steaks on the bill it was still $218/each. Had the caviar, it was amazing, Florida stone crab was special since it's only in season for short period of time when we saw it on the menu how do you resist? We were anticipating dining at Don's Prime based on the reviews but were extremely disappointed. Initially we were going to make reservations but with a $50 cancellation fee and us not knowing when we would be hungry, we opted to walk in instead. Upon walking in on a Wednesday evening at 8 PM, the hostess said it would be about an hour, which was understandable since it was anticipated to be a busy week. We decided to dine at the bar. The bartender was cold, no greeting, just asked if we planned on dining at the bar. A few minutes later a booth at the back of the bar opened up so we decided to move. We ordered a bottle of wine, crab cakes, ribeye, mushrooms and the creamy spinach. Again the service was cold, made it felt like we were dining at a fast food restaurant instead of a fine dining establishment. We were informed that the bottle we ordered was in the vault and that it would take 10 minutes at least for them to bring it up which was fine as we weren't in a rush. The sommelier finally runs up and plots the bottle down at the bar and runs off. We sat there for another 15 minutes staring at the bottle and wondering if it was going to open itself. Finally he comes back rushes to open the bottle throws it on the table and leaves. The crab cakes arrive and it was fine, presentation looked like they poked and pried at it before leaving the kitchen though. Then out comes the ribeye and sides. We asked for an extra plate to share and the guy comes back with a bread plate, really?! At that point we were tired of waiting so we started eating. The ribeye was CHEWY and the TOUGHEST piece of meat we've ever eaten at a steakhouse. It felt like we ordered a sirloin. I would not even let my dog eat it. Terrible!!! Mushrooms were bland and creamy spinach was salty. Reviews got me excited but I'll never return and will make sure to never recommend to even my worst enemy. Save your money and go to Bazaar Meats, STK, Peter Lugers, SW, any where else but here. read more

Was the food great? Sure. Was the service great? Impeccable. They typically have two wait staff assigned to each table from what I observed. I'm not-by any means-"cheap". My wife and I make $290k/yr combined and have minimal expenses outside of the norm. I tip 20% as a baseline for even bad service without personality issues and a lot of times end up at 1/3 of the bill as a tip. The fact that you are charging $18+ for SIDES let alone all of your steaks being $100+ is disgusting and basically disappointing. We had a delicious meal with good service that cost $489 plus $150 tip for a total of $639. This is absurd and good for the ppl on here that believe it's "vegas baby" or whatever, but I will never ever pay these kind of prices again for food I could get for $150 off strip plus a $15 Uber ride, that tastes every bit as good and don't feel the stench of elitism while I'm eating. read more

The interior for Don's is beautiful and the staff are friendly. However, the value of the food we ate did not match the price we paid. The presentation of the steak was concerning, as the meat looked overcooked and dry. It was cut table side and was not served in the juice it is cooked with. It was room temperature at best and VERY salty. The dessert I ordered was burnt. Will not return. read more
