I'm not so certain that this is the best breakfast place on the planet. Seems that it has a catchy name and tourist of course love it because it just happens to be one of the few places where you can go for breakfast in an extremely casual environment. If I recall, the prices aren't too bad. But again the food isn't too bad either. Overall it's breakfast, nothing really special, but a decent spot. I must say that the service has always been good there. I think that's an important aspect in these parts! Granted, we came in at 7pm, and we understand this place specializes in breakfast. That said, the biscuits were overcooked, the gravy was like oily sausage water, and the Monterey chicken sandwich lacked any flavor and had runny, greasy cheese and limp veggies. The coleslaw appeared to have come from a carton and also didn't taste right. Burger was without seasoning or flavor, and fries were okay. The only saving grace was 1) the turkey club sandwich my dad had, 2) the chicken and waffles was about what you'd get at any restaurant that offers premade chicken tenders and waffles, and 3) the hardworking busser who was awesome and never stopped helping and cleaning from the moment we arrived at the restaurant. read more

She quickly took our order. While waiting I went to the bakery area and looked at goodies. I love buying their shirts. I have several from over the years. I asked if they had a particular one in my size, unfortunately they didn't. When I got back to the table, I asked Larson if she could get me one in my size from the back. It took some time but, here she came with 2 styles!! Yah!! My husband decided on the Diet Plate which is Biscuits, Gravy, two sausage Patties, and hash browns. Lots of food I got Crabmeat Benedict. Another great meal at Donut Hole and excellent customer service as usual. The waiting line situation was a bit awkward but once we were greeted by a host things loved smoothly from there. Not sure why but there is only one entrance and you have to wait outside to be seated. Door was literally locked. Our waitress was great (purple hair- I don't think we got her name). She accommodated our large party of 9with a couple of table moves as we were trying to sit together as a family and also be comfortable once the food arrived. Entrees came quickly and other than the fact that there were no pecans for the banana nut pancakes (such a bummer and wish we would have been told earlier cuz we would've ordered something else) everything was delicious. Highlights: Chorizo and eggs, sunrise bagel, monster omelette and the French toast. Lowlights: the ice water had dirty ice cubes and tasted a little off overall even in cups with lemon. Maybe the filter needs to be cleaned in the water or ice machine. If you havent been in a long time you should go back AND if you've never been you've gotta at least give it a try. The line was long but the wait was not too bad at all. There were many brunch options to choose from and portion sizes were generous. However I am truly shocked at all the good food reviews on here.
