I'm the main family member who is responsible for caring for my elderly parents. Every week I do chores and run errands for my disabled mom and dad. So one day, my mother had an unexpected craving for donuts. Specifically, the lemon and apple filled variety. When we attempted to go to the neighborhood donut shop just around the corner from us, they, (as usual), were already out. And this was mid morning! Then, my dad suddenly remembered that Donut Time was actually a better shop, (where he used to frequent years ago), and they always seemed carry a bigger variety of donuts and had longer convenient hours. This place is a little further of a drive, but turned out to be well worth it! We were greeted by a friendly woman who was eager to help us. As we checked out all of the different kinds of donuts and pastries available, (with plans of just buying a couple), she gave us the "hard sell" into buying more donuts! But they were just too tempting to pass up! My dad and I took the bait and ended up getting a total of six donuts and rewarded with one free! She made us laugh as we bought more than what we needed because well, it was fun picking and choosing, and who can pass up delicious, freshly made donuts? Loved the customer service! Came here for some early morning St Patrick's Day donuts for the kiddos! It's a really tiny little shop but they do have some tables in the back if you wanna eat your donuts right away, like our kids did. It can get a little cramped if it's busy but luckily the layout of the store allows for the line to naturally form along the donut case. So many good choices on display! I usually go for custard filled but I wanted to try out their strawberry cream cheese croissant, which was so delicious! Fresh and flaky, and plenty of filling. The kids enjoyed their donut holes. I had a green tea latte which was not true matcha based on the color but definitely good if you like sweet drinks. We also had a Thai coffee which I liked a lot better. The younger girl working was really friendly. They were apologetic when they forgot to make our Thai coffee but brought it out right away after I asked about it. This place is a great option for donuts in the Rancho Cordova area! read more

Friendly, patient and helpful staff. The food was tasty, got some donuts and some iced Thai tea and a mango smoothie. The place has enough of seating if you want to stay in, not as much parking available but it's understandable. The have big tv screens for the menu. read more

This donut was on the sweeter, more decadent side, the fry a little deeper, the dough with more bite, the frosting creamier and richer; the salt content rises to the occasion. Even though I don't come here often, they always remember me. The donuts here are super fresh. I really love their donut holes. Light and fluffy! Yummy! I didn't know you now need to call ahead for cronuts. They open 4:30 daily so convenient for morning commuters and earlybirds. My daughter frequents this store and it was her that brought me here initially. There's just so many doughnut varieties to choose from, and each and every one of the varieties were, in my opinion, better than the next! And their doughnuts don't taste burnt or over-fried. They must be using fresh oil at the start of the business day. I love it! And the price is very reasonable, comparable to other doughnut places I have been to. You can fill up a box of doughnuts to take to work and the price won't break the bank! The place is clean...and always smells of freshly baked doughnuts. I have tried this place for home delivery (from about 2 miles away) three times. Each time has been pretty bad. Not sure where all the great reviews are coming from, but my experience has been disappointing. The ham and cheese croissant was huge, and inedible. A bready, wet, raft with blue eggs dotted with ham chunks. Chocolate Croissant also sucked. Just another croissant shaped piece of bread split open with chocolate icing smeared inside. Jelly filled is a donut split with canned fruit jam. Didn't receive the crullers. I received a dozen undercooked donut holes that I didn't order. I won't order anymore. read more

I used to love this place - have been stopping in for years to pick up treats for the office. It changed ownership about one month ago but remained in the family. For this reason, I figured the high quality would remain the same. Initially, there was a dip in quality and I attributed it to growing pains, so I decided to give them a few weeks. They still haven't managed a balance between undercooking and overcooking the croissants. Additionally, on two occasions several weeks apart, I got coffee creamer which had turned. Donut Time on Kiefer Blvd has been opened for over 30 yrs I know bc I used to eat their donuts since I was in Jr HS Although they have had different owners, the new owners have never disappointed me. They have a variety of donuts and pastries and good coffee. My favorite is their Customer service bc if/when you ask for a special donut like an Eclair with custard filling, they will make a fresh one with Lots of fillings & not skimp out like other donut shops.
