Donuts were average. But the employee there was wearing a mask around his chin with his nose and mouth exposed, and the only other customer had no mask on. I did not feel safe here. They clearly don't take public health seriously. I will not be coming back. read more

Drove out to santee from Chula Vista, great donuts & cheap prices. Low on specialty donuts by 2pm, might suggest coming earlier for the cooler donuts. great service, and very patient. However, complimentary water might be nice since the donuts are sweet. Overall, would definitely come back maybe earlier in the day. read more

This donut shop is adorable. The unforms, the students, the owner, Lillian Tatar and her adorable daughter, Lila Tatar are wonderful and make you feel like you are a member of the family. The uniforms are reminiscent of the 50's pink polo shirts with matching aprons, and the employees have a huge smile and personalities and couldn't have been more helpful assisting me in picking out a dozen + donuts. And talk about real troopers, they stayed open despite the torrential rains and power outage and people were standing in line outside the door of the donut shop. I've been there twice now. The first time my son wanted to try the heart shaped donut for Valentine's Day. I asked if the pink frosting was flavored or plain and was told it was plain with food coloring. After paying $3 for a donut we had to throw most of it away because it was indeed strawberry flavored icing. Not a good combo. I tried it again this morning to grab some donuts for both kids. I waited in a long line and finally got my turn. They don't have a very good selection of regular donuts. After trying for three separate items that any donut shop should have (chocolate glazed with sprinkles, sugar and donut holes - what donut shop doesn't make donut holes??) I had to leave and go elsewhere as those are the donuts the kids wanted. If you are looking for fancy schmancy donuts for $3 this is your place. If you want regular donuts I suggest going elsewhere (you'll pay less too as this place is a bit pricey foe regular too) It is a cute place and nicely decorated though. read more

Big donuts for an awesome price, what more could you ask for?? My boyfriend and I went here 2 days in a row during our vacation in SD, and we loved this place! The woman helping us was welcoming and suggested things for us to try since we were kinda overwhelmed and didn't know where to start. My favorites were, as always, the sprinkled donut with white glaze and the blueberry with sprinkles! I've never had a blueberry donut with sprinkles, but wow, that was one of the best blueberry donuts I've ever had. And since I'm obsessed with sprinkled donuts, well obviously it became one of my favorites there! Besides that, we got their classic donuts and I loved how fluffy the texture was. Donuts made with lots of love and perfection. Lastly, their logo is so cute I wish they had apparel to sell while we were there haha. read more

I went with my daughters this past weekend. I love the decor and the interesting flavors. I got a strawberry crueller and it was very fresh and tasted good. Just tried this place. The lady at the counter was very friendly. Bought 1/2 a dozen (blueberry-filled, lemon-filled, maple bar, and a French crueler for myself. I can't speak for the other flavors, but the French crueler was light in texture and amazing. My daughter was disappointed that her blueberry-filled was caked in way too much powdered sugar. Being the donut connoisseur that I am, I am very picky about my donuts. I have stood in line at 5:30 AM to try Voo Doo Donuts in Portland (mediocre), when traveling I always look for good, local, donut shops. This place isn't close to my house, but I make a point to drive there. The staff are always helpful and friendly and the donuts are phenomenal. I've had everything from their donut basics to their awesome PB&J or smores donuts. They're always fresh, soft, puffy, and melt in your mouth delicious. read more

We're already addicted. They've surpassed Mary's and are aiming at The Donut Bar. (If you get there after the morning rush, there won't be much left) Their dough is tender and fluffy. The choices are not the usual suspects. (I like the Apple Crumb) I'm from the East Coast and I find jelly donuts that are glazed to be too sweet...but Donutoplis has the powdered sugar option. (Try the Blueberry) My mother has fallen in love with the Strawberry Cream specialty donut which is filled with a super light whipped cream with just a touch of strawberry, strawberry glaze and topped by a big fat raspberry. The Maple Bacon bars are tender dough, smeared with Maple sweetness and topped by crispy, salty bacon. (yum!) They offer a loyalty program - free donuts are always good. The only downside is that it's in the 7-11 parking lot, which is always full and it means constant temptation when I get gas for the car. Yes, their specialty donuts are more expensive than Mary's - they're also three times the size. Their regular donuts are $1 each, so screaming about price isn't accurate. read more

Donutopolis serve the best donuts in Santee! They have all the traditional ones plus some fun fancy donuts that change based on season and holiday. They aren't as greasy as Mary's donuts and the ambiance is really fun and hip ... or at least as hip as you can get for donuts = ) The owner and workers are really nice and I hope everyone gives them a chance to win them over ... I don't eat donuts very often but when I do it will be from Donutopolis! read more

I was there at 2:00 on Sunday afternoon & they were closed :( And they close at 4:00 weekdays, Not everybody want donuts just at 5am, I know that Mary's is open and always has a line when I get off work at 5pm. Loved it! My husband happened to be in the area, so I asked him to stop here and grab us some fun donuts to try. Was not disappointed! He got the maple/bacon and loved it. He got me the fruity pebble, so good! Not overly sweet, not greasy and the topping was crunchy. Like most reviews say, the specialty donuts are gigantic...I only ate half, and saved the rest for later. It was still delicious 10 hours later. I wish there was more hype about this place because it's super good...I honestly think they taste fresher than Mary's. So disappointed this morning. Let's start with the specialty donuts. I got a cookies and cream, the topping was great, the filling was only a thin strip through the center of a very large square donut. Literally had only 4 bites with filling out of the whole thing. The hubby got a maple bacon, that one was actually pretty good, but no better than others. Next issue, the croissants. A "plain butter croissant" in not a plain butter croissant, it had the distinct taste of artificial butter flavoring. It was also overcooked. I also purchased a ham and cheese croissant, turned out to be a ham and cheese with jalapeños, fine by me, but many are sensitive to spicy foods, that could have really ruined someone's day. The employee at the register had such little knowledge of the products, had to call the person baking over to tell us what was what. Why not have things labelled? We were holding up the line to ask :-/ Lastly, the donut holes were a surprise. Donut holes are primarily traditional donut dough most places. Theirs are made from the same dough used for buttermilk and old fashioned donuts.... I noted it looked a little over browned than most donut holes, but I was shocked when I popped it in my mouth. I might have been ok if they mentioned it, but I was not prepared. There are several other donut shops in this area that have better product. If you want a good plain croissant or filled croissant go to Pink's donuts off Mast and Magnolia, for other specialty donuts, go to Mary's. read more

Fun spot in Santee for specialty and classic donuts! Fresh, modern decor and friendly staff make it enjoyable to sit in. We tried the pb&j, rocky road (i think-it was chocolate and marshmallows), maple and red velvet this morning and everyone was happy.
