My disappointment, and the reason for my 4 star instead of 5 star rating, is because of one item...their incredible cinnamon rolls. They have been a premium priced item. No issues there. I was VERY disappointed when I visited today. It's a tradition to bring my grandkids when they come in from out of town as the used to visit the store frequently when they lived here. Upon pulling up to the store, the trash was overflowing and there was trash all over the ground which had attracted several birds. I didn't even want to touch the door handle as it was too very dirty but then once inside I was appalled at the windows and how disgusting they looked. It's as though they hadn't been cleaned since the store opened for its first customer. I was very kind explaining to the young girl behind the counter that first impressions can dictate a business whether they make it or not. She proceeded to tell me that there was new management that had taken over and that she would tell the manager when he came to the store. Mind you... there was no one in the store but me and my granddaughter so clearly there was time to tidy up things but apparently that was going to be left up to the new manager. The only circle of trust you should have is a doughnut. Woo! Donutsville! This place was first brought to my attention by Daniel L. He had suggested I swing on over the next time I was in the area. Well technically my homie Linh swung by and we shared half a dozen doughnuts. I only ended up trying two out of six marvelous doughnuts but man oh man! DOUGHNUTS! So I tried the Red Velvet and the Rice Krispy Treat. That Red Velvet is something out of a dream. It was crispy on the outside yet still soft, moist, and cake-y on the inside. Overall it was airy and light. I wish I had another one because that tiny sweet baby was gone in the blink of an eye. I'm glad they topped it with a glaze instead of cream cheese frosting as I think it would have been too sweet with cream cheese frosting. As for the Rice Krispy Treat, it was okay. I thought it would be more crispy like an actual krispy treat but it was more on the softer side. It was an error on my part since we're still talking about doughnuts here. It was pleasant and enjoyable but I think I prefer eating an actual Rice Krispy Treat. I hear they have cronuts and crème brûlée doughnuts here at Donutsville. This used to be our family favorite donut shop. A couple days ago we came in for donuts and I could immediately see that all the donuts were different.. cheaper looking if that makes any sense. Took a bite of a standard chocolate raised donut and could taste a major difference as well- for the worst! Low grade chocolate that didn't even look appealing to eat. Come to find out it's under new ownership now, and it's obvious they went cheap on all ingredients. The quality and taste of these donuts are now no different than what you could get from a local grocery store. We were so sad by this and won't waste our time or money coming back here unfortunately. read more

Great experience this morning for my first visit to Donutsville! They were welcoming & friendly with me. Most importantly, they were patient as I looked at all the different donut options. I like to go in and see what is available & what looks most enticing...but they do have a drive through for your convenience. Well, they ran out of their best item pretty early, so I was forced to either leave or try a new item. The Fritters can't be that good, but I think these guys purposely make very little fritters to leave the impression that they are popular. I ended up with a Bear Claw which looked like a real claw and had some elements of the fritter including apples stuffed inside. It also had nuts too and cinnamon in there. It probably fell in the mid range of donuts, but no matter what you get after your first choice is sold out, you will likely be disappointed. read more

I sent my husband to pick up donuts from here for the first time ever. He said it was quick which is a lot coming from him, he hates waiting. He said there were so many options his eyes popped out and he knew he wanted to try them all they were so yummy looking. The inside was tidy and clean, but most importantly those donuts came home to all of us and they were beautifully delicious! They were so pretty we almost didn't want to eat them, definitely not disappointed. Best part was that they weren't that expense compared to your typical donut place. So the donuts are tasty. They have French crullers, which are my fave, but they are flavor-glazed. I prefer with the regular glaze, but idk if they were out or just something they don't make. Anyway, I went through the drive through to get a coffee & two donuts. Lady on the speaker was nice enough and offered cream & sugar for my coffee. I didn't sip the coffee until I was already southbound on Lake Pleasant Pkwy heading home. It tasted black. I'm pretty sure they also gave regular coffee when I had ordered decaf, because I was a bit too wired for decaf after drinking it. I called them (hands free, of course) and asked if they had forgot the cream and sugar or if next time I come through I should ask for double cream and double sugar. I was trying to figure out if they forgot the cream and sugar, or if what was added was their normal amount and I should be asking more to suit my taste on my next trip. Lady says, "I don't know, I haven't been making coffee all day". Umm, so is it that hard to turn around and ask whoever did make my coffee? That was a bit rude, but ok. This place used to be so lively and cute, a place to go with your family every Sunday to get a sweet treat. I went in today and it's completely different. It looks so empty, where they used to have cold bottled drinks like milk and juice is now empty, I went at 10:30 am and there was a small selection of donuts. What happened to variety? Honestly after not being there for so long and going back it just made me feel sad. The service isn't necessarily bad but it wasn't really good either. I have stopped in here a few times to bring treats to the office but never wrote a review. That's mostly in part as I was probably half zombie and still waking up before my caffeine. They have a drive thru which is really convenient when you are wanting to make it quick. I usually like going in to order so I can see what is there and pick the assortment. This last time the kids and I came about 3pm Friday and there was still a pretty big assortment. We couldn't decide on which 6 so we got a dozen against my better judgement. On Friday and Saturday they have Cronuts filled with Nutella which are a bite of donut heaven! The guy that helped us was super nice and patient with us as we looked at each option and decided which ones would be coming home with us. It was $16 for a dozen which included an extra I think $4 for the cronut (It's worth it guys!). We will continue to come here when the donut craving hits and we are in the area.
