This place is solid. Good burritos and salads. Has some nice offerings if you are looking for something healthier. Does not fit the authentic model as it marches to the beat of its own drum but I find the word "authentic" is used too often as a litmus test. Good is good. Okay I really like the shrimp taco. Way better than I expected as the shrimp actually has perhaps a distinctive enough flavor and texture as well as good sauce throughout the taco. Also had a carnitas and steak taco -- good enough, just not as good as the shrimp taco. The salsa they have here is so-so. Ordered a burrito a couple times but oftentimes its too much to eat but not enough to take home so you end up going back to work bloated... But it does have a decent taste. Pricing is a little expensive for what you get but again you still get good and enough food. Like the 0.75 per taco extra charge when ordering tacos is confusing or I don't know if you can order three different tacos and pay the discounted basket price because I got an expensive bill. Also, use Yelp cash back. Also, didn't know this happens to be one of the few places that takes pocket points and I was upset at myself because I noticed the day after I went here grar. read more

I was stopping in here quite often because I travel from the Bay Area and they are a quick stop for me on my was home. I've only ordered the super nachos (blue chips) I really liked them. The last time I went in, I placed my order and went over to the table and waited for them to bring it out to me .. it usually takes 5 mins or so. This time, I waited, and started wondering what is taking so long? I mean you've got 5 people behind the counter working for crying out loud ..but no one could see me sitting there looking at them going what the heck where is my food?? They were going to make me a new one then they found it.. it was in the wrong staging location. Really? Your a manager and have all these people behind the counter and you couldn't see someone was waiting for their food? Of course it was cold by the time I had got home. Not bad for California TexMex... err CaliMex. They have all the basic options available, with a pretty nifty salsa bar (their mild green sauce is just right for me). They are also extremely FAST - even during prime lunch time. I ordered the Coyotes Taco w/ Steak & the Shrimp Taco w/ special white sauce. Both very tasty, and they didn't cheap out on the shrimp either. The chips were the perfect amount of crunch and not too oily. The venue is extremely loud, but on a less crowded (and less hot) day, I would have definitely taken advantage of the sweet patio getup they have overlooking the river. read more

This place is down the street from my current project, and I'd read all the RAVE reviews here on Yelp....so I figured I'd give em a shot. I ordered the Southwest Burrito with steak. It was ok. Added some decent hot sauce for a good kick, like I would with any burrito. Just seems to be another Qdoba/Chipotle type place to me. I wasn't expecting that. Prices aren't bad as I spent less than $10 for a burrito and a drink. Parking can be tight. Maybe I'll be better convinced on my next visit? I'll be back. read more

I only tried their shrimp burrito and salmon burrito. both were pretty good and I would go back there again to try other items on the menu but if i really need a good burrito fix then I'd have to go to adanberto's, adalberto's, la vics, iguana's or even chicken express. A little above your average mexican fast food spot. The good things about this place is that the decor of the restaurant is better than your average chipotle and it feels almost like it would be a sit down restaurant. You order at the counter and the food is so fast it was basically being delivered to us as we found our seats in the dining room. The negatives here which makes it an average three stars is that the food is a little bland and it doesn't stand out amongst other places ive gone to. The salsa bar is a nifty idea if it were executed with better tasting salsa that wasn't watered down as much as it was. This is a pretty cheap place though so I wouldn't mind coming back here for a cheap lunch. read more

You may want to get there a little early, or have lunch late to avoid the crowd. New-Mex, Fresh-Mex, Tex-Mex, Sac-Mex? I don't know what exactly to call it, but this place is one of our favorites. Great selection of burritos (try them with their red or green sauce and melted cheese over them, ginormous salads (seriously, folks, these are man salads), and seasonal specialties (the green chili stew is my winter go-to food). They have an awesome salsa bar, and during the Thanksgiving to Christmas holiday season, they have cranberry salsa! People complain about the parking, but there is plenty further down in the parking lot. After gorging yourself in here, you'll need the walk to lose some of the weight you'll gain....I know I do. One note - their portions have started to get smaller. And by that, I mean that they are thinking about approaching a sensible portion size (their still big). So, bad for American appetites, but good for Health Care Reform...I guess. Still, worth 5 stars! read more

The new coke machine sucks. We love Dos. It is always dependable. Its a chain, ok. It is not very authentic and not fu-fu, just good food. They have great rotating specials and the basics are always well done here. I don't drink soda too much but I have to have a coke with Mexican food. We have been coming here for years. Mexican food here is economical and and great! Best of all they have a yummy salsa bar and u can just go and help yourself with mild, med or hot salsa. They also have special seasonal salsa that they make from scratch using seasonal fruits or seeds! A real treat! In the summer, I love their steak fajita salad. It has roasted veggies on top and slices of roasted jalapeños and slices of avocados! At the bottom of the salad, there lies a bed of warm refried beans. Salad is tossed with Coji cheese. They usually have this salad mid-summer and by mid-fall, it will be off the menu. It's so delish !! read more

We've been here twice for takeout in the last month and our orders have been wrong both times. The first time only 3 out of 4 meals make it into the bag and I had to drive all the way back to pick up the forgotten item. Really good! Lots of choices to choose from and the staff is very nice when you add or subtract things. Place is super clean and the decor is typical Arizona-Southwest look. Lots of metal sculptures and funky colors. Our food came out fresh and hot. I recommend getting the chicken burrito as a 'bowl'. It's really tasty! Their iced tea is peach flavored and was refreshing after the heat of outside. The only downside is that if you want to drink beer, you have to stay inside the restaurant, you can't sit outside the front door in the seating area they have. I have been to this location over 20 times. I would say 80% of the time, they mess up the online orders. Which is sad bc it is written down. Usually they apologize and make it again. No harm, mistakes happen. However, we checked our order before we left this time. Completely wrong missing meat and made as a burrito and not a bowl. Brought it up. Guy dumped burrito into a bowl. It was ordered this way for gluten intolerance. Said he wasn't the one who made it so it wasn't his fault. Unfortunately if they are doing this stuff in front of me, I don't want to know what they do when no one is watching. I would say the food is decent. you feel rushed once you get in line and it's busy. Chips come with every meal so don't make the mistake of ordering a basket unless you really want to eat obscene amounts of chips. Service is fairly good, a lot of teenagers working and they are helpful. read more

I've always loved this place since the first visit. The focus on sustainability is all around the restaurant. If they had the grass fed beef it would be over the top. The food is wholesome and the seasonal specials take advantage of ripe vegetables. I'll admit there have been times when the specials are smaller than I expected, but really my expectation was to over eat. The serving size is more than adequate. Tonight I had the fajita salad with beef. Well, I ordered beef and it came with chicken. No problem, the staff quickly prepared a side of beef to add to the salad. Mmmm, more food. The tomatoes, onions and peppers were grilled and tasted great. The salad had just a touch of dressing, just like I enjoy it. I like to add salsa. The staff would accommodate more dressing if you like. It is surprising to me when someone doesn't like the salsa bar. They have at least 9 choices plus some other mixtures. Heck, I would order chips just to enjoy the salsa. Mmmm, more food. Have you seen the prices for bottled beer. It was only $2.25. Please tell me another place where the regular price for beer is $2.25 for microbrew beer because I'll visit that place too. My only guilt tonight was the beer. Everything else was good clean food. I went to the store in Folsom last week, and found that the menu had changed considerably. My go-to order is the Navajo Nachos with steak. In the past, DC used a regular sized plate, and piled it high with the chips, steak, cheese, sour cream and guac. Now, the plate is a bigger 'platter', and the amount of food is much less! I got about a tablespoon each of sour cream and guac. It used to be about 1/4 of a cup before of each. Also, the chips are different, and that is a BIG deal to me! Now they taste more like a Doritos style chip instead of the authentic Mexican style chips I've been used to eating here in the past. Don't know when this change was implemented because it's been about 2 years since I last ate here. Such a basic thing, but sadly, with this chip change, I won't be back. That said, the service was excellent and the wait time was reasonable. read more

Stopped by for a quick dinner with my husband before a show. Very friendly staff and the food was great. He had fish tacos (excellent) and I had green chili stew (chicken and potatoes) which was on their specials board. Mine was delicious, with a spicy broth. My only complaint is that it should have been called a soup instead of a stew. There was a lot of broth. Perhaps it's what I think of when I think of stew, because the staff member who explained it to me did say he liked to strain it and put some of the ingredients into a tortilla (tasty) when he ate it. Let me be clear, I really liked the stew and will gladly have it again. You should give it a try... As a side note, I dropped my wallet while there. They found it and kept it secure until I could get it. Overall, a great meal, great price, and very nice staff. read more
