Barbacoa taco
Tom L.

Talk about incredible value, for $10, I got 2 fully loaded tacos, when I picked up the order the bag felt heavy so I knew I was in for a treat. Love how they give automatically 2 good size containers of red and green salsa, I didn't have to ask for it. The barbacoa meat is capital T for tender! Love the silky beef and a nice contrast to add the fresh lettuce and pico since the meat is rich. When mixed together, it's a balanced taco. Fibrous meat, soft tortilla, ultra fresh lettuce and pico, and nice low tangy flavors from the salsa. Great taco. The gravy guisada is my favorite taco. Big big chunks of meat, creamy brown gravy, fresh tortilla, probably not hand made but store bought but who cares? It's good anyways. Each taco comes with its own pico, lettuce, and sliced jalapeños. I really appreciate how well the food is packed. Smart smart to pack the vegetables on the side, if it was all packed under 1, it would be a soggy mess but well packed. A 10/10

Chicken enchiladas lunch $13.99 was ok, prob 9-10.99 would be appropriate price to match the quality. Chips light and good, like red salsa

Went here for lunch recently. Never been but my friends live in the area and are frequent customers. They have lunch specials around $13.99 with the standard choices. I went with 2 chicken enchiladas and 2 different sauces, one green and another is their cream sauce. The chips here are light white corn and crispy, they were good. The red salsa was pretty good here - tomato with onions and jalapenos in it and good flavor. The green salsa was not to our liking - had a tangy taste to it but didn't much like the flavor. I thought it was cactus but others say it might be the vinegar. Food comes out timely. The food was okay, nothing bad or disappointing. I liked the chicken tortilla soup (came with lunch special) had good white meat chicken in it. The charro beans were okay, nothing special. The white meat chicken in the enchiladas is shredded and it was good. Rice was nothing special. My friend liked his flaticos? They are like Taquitos but with flour tortillas instead. The other 2 in our party had enchiladas and they thought their meal today as just "okay". They have been here many times so they know the expectations, and today they said it wasn't as good. I think a good consensus here is I paid $13.99 for a meal for which I felt should have been a 10.99 meal based on the level of quality. It didn't wow me. Portions were good, though. The waitress was nice, she was responsive when we needed items, and she was helpful in going through the menu. After dropping off our food she disappeared and hadn't checked in so we were thirsty waiting for water and iced tea. So even though 3-stars here, I would still recommend going here. I would be open to trying other menu items if I am in the area. The shredded white chicken was good, the red salsa was very good - I would buy a jar of that stuff if they had it to-go.

Ate outside on the patio which was a beautiful day to do so. Starter with their fresh salsa and green salsa. Red salsa had a good kick to it. Had the queso with flour tortillas. Very warm and fresh. Main meals came out on very very plates. Everything was fresh and pipping hot. Each item fresh, no heating lamps. Portion sizes are huge! Had to take a bunch home for tomorrow. Staff was cordial, not overly friendly. Eating felt very rushed unfortunately. Was not too loud outside.

Those sauces in Georgetown right smack in the middle. The go to place for the best Mexican food in Georgetown. I've been going here for as long as 20 years, but this is my first time back in quite a while.. My out of town friends were looking for a place to eat some good Tex-Mex food while we were going through historical Georgetown and I definitely brought them to do sauce. Those sauces is so exceptional. The restaurant is always beautifully decorated the feeling is friendly even when they're super busy you can still hear and have a good conversation. I definitely recommend the tortilla soup. The presentation is so beautiful the presentation all their foods is immaculate. The soup comes with all the fixings on the side so you can add what you want and leave out what you don't want, but they're very generous in their portions. As busy as they were, the food came out so quickly I was super amazed. It tasted so fresh and great I now remember why those sauces is the best Mexican food restaurant in Georgetown. We were all very hungry and I did not take pictures of my food I'm sorry, but it was really good . I was too busy talking. I did take a picture of the menu though. If you're downtown on the Square in Georgetown, and going through all the shops and need a place to relax have a margarita. I need a good bowl of tortilla soup. I definitely recommend those sauces.

Spicy poblano omelette served with potatoes and refried beans

I have been a Dos Salsas customer for more than 20 years and it is my favorite place to go for breakfast, lunch or dinner! Their food is always fresh and full of flavor. You can taste the smoky poblano in their spicy poblano omelette and the mixture of veggies they use in their salsas. The place is cozy, music is lively but not too loud. Service is always great! Staffs are friendly, attentive and makes sure cups are always full. Dos Salsas is great for date night or family night or simply hanging out with a friend.

I wouldn't recommend Dos Salsas. My experiences there haven't been great. When I walked up to the place, I saw oil spilling onto the sidewalk, which made me question the cleanliness of the whole place. The first time I went, it was okay, but the second time was just plain disappointing. The only thing I kinda liked was the tortilla soup, but it was odd to see the same tortillas in the soup as in my basket. The tacos, though? Horrible! I tried to eat them, I really did, but they were just so bad. The beef fajita tasted burnt and had a weird mushy texture. It was honestly indescribable. I don't even think it would be considered to be beef fajita, it was some mystery meat that they decided to use instead. It was almost like old charred Carne Asada. I couldn't finish any of it, they were that bad. Although I have to admit, the service was okay. But it can't ever make up for the food that you're gonna get guaranteed. I don't think I'll go back to Dos Salsas... If I want something nearby, I'd rather grab some Little Caesars pizza across the street. Even if it's been sitting there for a while. It's gotta be better than what I had at Dos Salsas. Trash!

Tried Dos Salsas for the first time, and I'm already planning to come back! The food was full of flavor--everything from the sizzling fajitas to the fresh chips and two kinds of salsa was spot on. The margaritas were strong, refreshing, and a perfect match for the meal. The atmosphere was upbeat and welcoming, and the service was excellent. For dessert, we tried both the churros and the tres leches cake--absolutely worth it. The churros were perfectly crisp with a warm, soft center and just the right touch of cinnamon sugar. The tres leches was rich, moist, and not overly sweet--just right. A fantastic end to a great meal. I'll definitely be back soon!

Part of the light plate!!!

The food comes out fast and hot!! And good! Ask for Tina, Tuesday - Thursday for great customer service !

The epitome of family-owned and operated Tex Mex. Huge portions, strong margaritas, fresh staples like chips, tortillas, beans, rice, etc.

I mentioned to my wife that these kinds of places often have kitchens and boy we were in luck. The man in charge, Albert, descended on us and started simultaneously asking what we wanted to order AND praising the virtues of his tamales, among other things. But he had me at "Birria". After being introduced to birria tacos by my lifelong friend, Joel, I have been a huge fan ever since. So we called an audible and decided to get an order for takeout (Albert could convince you to buy anything, I think). We got two orders of Corn QuesaBirria Tacos and the Jalapeño Popper Specialty Taco. Both were great and I especially liked the Birria Tacos, even eating my wife's portion... "You going to eat that?" Outside of the corner kitchen, convenience store is great, with all of the different varieties of foods, beers and other items that you would expect at Mexican convenience store.

The food is good but I, personally, don't think I can eat here again. The tacos are greasy and I think whatever they use to cook gives me really bad gas (bloating). So if you're stomach-sensitive, I do not recommend.

The restaurant has many tables and there's enough room around the tables so one can talk comfortably without being overheard, I like that. There's plenty of room around the tables for a wheelchair and it's easy to get through the restaurant with a wheelchair, which is nice. The bathroom has railings on both sides so a person in the wheelchair can get in and out easily. There's handicapped parking right in front. My mother's in a wheelchair, so this is very helpful for me. The food is really good. The chips and salsa are great! The coffee and tea are wonderful. I just can't say enough nice things about this restaurant. I'll be back on Sunday!

Mhm I was expecting…read moreso much more than the experience I received during my most recent visit. When I arrived, the restaurant was almost empty, which was strange to me, given the early evening hour and past visits. This place has been jampacked, standing room only. The slogan on the wall "Andamos Al Cien" Is a great goal for the bar area, but on my visit, it fell woefully short. The house margarita was barely drinkable, although the presentation was nice, the actual beverage itself in the glass was something less desirable/drinkable. The bartender commented when I ordered my next margarita, with specific ingredients, he said that should make a much better beverage than what you had the last time. Although, It was better, it was not a a great drink, it was not well balanced, something was off. The food itself, the chicken fajita quesadillas was very average food, and I have to question the chicken fajita component. The chicken did not taste that great and it tasted and appeared to be more like a shredded chicken than a fajita chicken. The flavor just wasn't up to the standard of what I have come to know and expect from a great chicken fajita. Service itself, was OK, but nothing spectacular. The bartender did a decent job of keeping my alcoholic beverage needs filled, but my water glass did not receive the attention it deserved and I had to frequently ask for it to be refilled, when I would expect that your normal server/bartender would see that it was empty and either refill it or ask if it needed to be refilled instead of waiting for me to bring it to their attention Super friendly, bartender, and I have heard great things about their food, so I am thinking I may have just caught them on an off night and will give them another chance. If this place was jampacked like it normally is, I think my experience would have been much different.

I went here with a large group (10) on Sunday last weekend. We went during Happy Hour (3-6p daily)…read morewhen their margaritas/beer/wine and appetizers were all $2 off. This is a very scenic and modern upscale restaurant near the heart of downtown Georgetown. The interior is nicely appointed and understatedly elegant. The inside and outside restaurant and bar areas are expansive but easily outstrip the provided parking. There is also street parking nearby, but don't be surprised if you wind up walking from nearby public lots or garages. I can easily see this place being packed. We had a reservation and were promptly seated and offered water service. As with most Mexican restaurants, there's an expansive menu, so we ordered drinks while we perused the menu. I found the Encantada margarita to be quite tasty, but it was a bit expensive. At $11 for a single serving with house liquors, closer to what we've come to expect locally for a Mexican martini (theirs was $18 with house, $24 with call). That's a bit over-the-top IMHO. We were offered complimentary chips and salsa; I remember the chips to be excellent, and the red salsa just right for my taste, but others remarked that it was too spicy. Our waitress (Paulina) joked that the only thing less spicy was their ketchup. They also have a green salsa, which is even spicier, but that we all skipped. The food menu has a lot of chef-inspired offerings. I tried the Grilled Chicken Tacos (Grilled Chicken, Cilantro, Onion, Fresco Cheese) at $16. I had one on flour and one on corn to taste the difference in tortillas with the same ingredients, along with a side bowl of black beans. I found them flavorful but also on the small side for the price. Additional tacos are $5 each. No rice was offered. This was one of their least expensive plates. We had a great time and our drink and food service was nothing less than excellent, but I couldn't help but come away feeling that, for a check that tabbed in just under $100 (with tip) we should have had a fuller tummy. Would we come back? Maybe. We'll have to explore their other options and perhaps graze more off the appetizer menu; however, less than $5 separate most of their appetizers from their plate dinners. This is a place to go for a culinary and visual experience, not an everyday meal.

We went on a Friday and had about a 45-minute wait, which wasn't an issue. I would recommend making a reservation if you're planning to go on the weekend. Once we were checked in, our experience was great. I sincerely wish I remembered our server's name--it was something like Jeane or George--but he was excellent. Truly some of the best service I've experienced. He went above and beyond, recommended popular dishes, and even guaranteed that if we didn't like them, he would take care of it. To my surprise, he was absolutely right. All the appetizers and entrées were great. I ordered a burger, which isn't what you'd typically expect at a Mexican restaurant, but it ended up being one of the best burgers I've had in the area. My wife had the fajitas, and we also shared queso with chips and a sampler of chips and dips--everything was excellent. I'll definitely be coming back to try more items and hope we get the same level of service again.

My husband and I split the Caldwell Special (essentially a fajita platter with beef, chicken, and shrimp, over peppers and onions). It was pretty good -- the beef was tender and the shrimp was fat and succulent. Chicken was a bit on the tough side but that's the least important one for getting the texture right. Ultimately, a good dish but a bit pricy (44.99 for two). It wasn't a huge amount of food -- just enough for two people (and we got tortillas and made a couple fajitas too).
