I came in expecting them to mess up my order so I made sure to talk super slow and clear and even had the guy repeat the order back to me. They still messed it up. I ordered a pork burrito and a steak quesadilla and they gave me a pork quesadilla. The guy messed up my order because while he was starting your quesadilla he passed it on to someone else because a lady came in to check on her order so he stopped working on mine to work on hers. To make matters worse when I told them the order was wrong the lady gave me a lot of attitude and it didn't help that she has a conversation in front of me with another staff member and all I could understand is "gringo" multiple times. I know this sounds crazy but I eat Dos Toros at least once a week. I've tried several different locations and this one is by far my favorite. The steak here is always tender and juicy versus other locations where the steak has been tough and chewy. The customer service is nearly excellent, I never have to wait more then 10 minutes before receiving my order. They work very quick and efficient. I've had no problems with this restaurant. Ordered delivery online from here a little before 6pm today for me and my family. Got a call from one of their employees 45 minutes later stating the order couldn't be fulfilled because the store was closing at 6pm. This is not listed anywhere online, and there were options for delivery from 7pm-8pm. Was charging my phone, so they were no longer answering by the time I saw it and called the store; the employee (Roberto) left what seemed to be his phone # on my voicemail, however upon calling it was the wrong #. Instead of getting the food I paid $31 for, I got nothing along with the fun task of scrambling to see where I could buy dinner for my family last minute before the 8pm curfew tonight. I'm very familiar with Dos Toros, as I've been eating at their Carmine St location since they opened and I live around the corner from this one (even met the founders at a Yelp event years ago). I've never experience such poor service from them. If they cannot fulfill the orders they have available online, they should not try operating an online ordering system. This place is better than the more nationally known Mexican fast casual joint. I'll leave that to the imagination but it starts with C. I feel like this is more small time (no ordering app yet? What the heck), but the focus is on quality food and happy customers. And I haven't had an unhappy experience yet! I've had their burritos and bowls. I prefer them meatless. They do have an impossible plant base ground beef bowl, and you'd never know it wasn't the real thing. Guac is extra. But you can add it to any dish without them reminding you it's extra! I live across the street from the "other" chain. This one not only is 30 blocks away, but I wait in line and can't preorder...and prefer this like a million times more. Don't miss it. And pro tip? The food is very good, and the price is better than the Mexican food trucks that line up on Broadway around Columbia University. Another thing I appreciate is being able to order food without being requested for a tip. When I went to pick up my order I asked the employee about giving a tip and he told me thanks but they don't accept tips. What a pleasant surprise. Decided to go out for lunch on my lunch break and stopped by Dos Toros. I have been here before but I'm the city and was a huge fan of their burrito bowls. Walking in, I was kind of disappointed there was no dine eat option. Just grab and go. The service was cool and restaurant was clean. There was light traffic inside and was helped right away. Now on to the food. It was mediocre at best. I was having high hopes but was not impressed. To start, the rice was good but the portions was not good at all. It's literally a small layer on the bottom of the bowl. I asked for chicken and they put this tiny scoop of chicken. I asked if they can put extra chicken, the lady said you want double chicken. I said I didn't know that scoop was a single serving lol. The toppings were good and fresh. They pack it with the toppings but because there's very little rice and chicken it's really like you're eating the toppings. I was not impressed, but it wasn't terrible. I just wished it would've been more balanced. I probably would go back to give it another try hoping there would be someone else making the plate lol read more

I've had Dos Toro in the past and both the chicken bowl and steak burrito were okay. Today I ordered a chicken burrito that was totally unacceptable. The pinto beans were so undercooked I thought I was eating peanuts in my burrito and to get my blood pressure pumping even more, when I opened the burrito it was overloaded with these peanuts- I mean undercooked pinto beans. Dos Toro please have your kitchen staff check the beans to ensure they are fully cooked. I could have lost a tooth today. Besides the undercooked beans the chicken and guacamole were fine. read more

I work a few blocks away and this has become my go-to spot to pick up lunch. Even when a cold wind is blowing off the Hudson I'll make the hike. The food is good, well packaged and still warm by the time I get back to the office. Nothing is more disappointing than warm carnitas after all. What keeps me coming back, however, is the workers. They now recognize me as a regular. Every time I come in they greet me by name and with a smile. Even if they are getting slammed by a lunchtime rush they're always super calm and respectful. When they're not too busy and we can chat for a few moments they're always fun and interesting. Even noticed and complimented me on a new haircut once. Delivery Buyers Beware....I hate Chipotle and love Dos Toro'a but this location has let me down 2x now. I have used the Dos Toro's app on both occasions. Today I orders a Steak Quesadilla, Can of Coke and Chips and Guacamole. My order was delivered in prompt time, but Quesadilla was cold, my Can of Sprite was warm (oh yeah, they called and told me they were out of Coke, so I changed it to Sprite. Not sure how they can be out of Coke at 2pm on a Sat.) and they forgot my guacamole. The chips also came with a measly handful 15 chips top. I'm done with this place! read more
