My wife and I have been here multiple times without issues, which made this visit especially disappointing. We ordered shrimp ceviche and seafood paella, and both came out at the same time--first miss. These dishes are served in a way that requires spoons to portion out (especially when sharing, which we told our server), yet none were provided. We had to ask three or four times just to get spoons. Service overall was lacking--after our initial water, we asked for a refill and our server never came back, even walking by us with water for other tables. We had to ask another server for help. Drinks were just okay for the price feels like they rely on fancy names more than quality. The paella portion was smaller than before but still full price, and they didn't provide a discard bowl for shells like they usually do. Kitchen timing felt off, and the whole experience seemed more focused on pushing tequila than delivering good food and service our server even tried to upsell shots we never agreed to. After spending $164, this felt like a waste. Nice atmosphere, but that's about it. Quality and service have clearly gone downhill. The 3.5 Yelp rating makes sense now. This is arguably Portland Metro's swankiest spot. There is no value here, do not come if you're watching your budget: either have the means or pretend like you do. And most are not here to simply satisfy their hunger, this is a place to be seen, there were throngs of super tight dresses like you'd see at the club. Dosalas offers an excellent view, especially if you sit outside. That said, most dishes were very good, a few just okay, but none bad. Again, it's not the type of place where you ponder, "should I get this or that?" You get both without hesitation. I started with their signature drink, the $22 (not a typo) Vintage Fashion. On the ooh and ah factor alone, it's worth it one time. They do use single barrel Four Rose bourbon, but in a cocktail the premium is usually lost. My favorite dish was the least expensive item on the menu: the Brazilian Cheese bread, yum. The baked queso and mushroom medley were very good. They'll ask if you'd like more bread, but do they charge? Who cares, because you're flush with cash. The short rib sopes were wonderful, the crab toast and tuna tostadas good, but not great. The only 'meh" item were the empanadas. And the only dislike were the round tortilla chips that accompanied one of the dishes, they were topped with an off-putting spice. The Grilled Octopus is the one we hardly touched, not sure if it was because we were full or because of taste. Lastly, the no crust cheesecake and creamy flourless chocolate torte were above average. The server was a salesman, he will quickly steer you towards the triple digit items on the menu. On that note, I find paella to be almost always overrated, so go for the 48 oz. $180 Tomahawk Ribeye if you want to really splurge. The salesperson's schtick was a bit too much at times, dialing it down just a tad is recommended. He just tried too hard if that's a thing. Swanky. There isn't a restaurant in Portland or Vancouver that comes close to Dosalas in terms of design, decor and view. None. It's spectacular! The glitz greets you as walk into the first floor entry with three Crystal chandeliers hanging over the stairway to the right. As you enter the dining room and bar on the second floor, the soft colors of white, gray & pale blue are both elegant and soothing. They compliment, not distract from the real stunner, the view of the Columbia River and open sky that can be seen from the entire wall of floor to ceiling windows. The open deck area is absolutely incredible with a massive open fire pit with dozens of chairs on both sides, intimate tables and chairs along the window and the interior wall. Toto, we're not in Kansas anymore! instantly one is transported to NYC, San Francisco or Vegas. On a sunny blue sky day we were seated in a super comfy and plush booth with a window view. We came for lunch and in the off season (winter months) they only serve lunch and brunch Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Our waitress greeted us immediately, explaining the menu which is created to share and let us know that dishes arrive as they are completed. For two of us she recommended 4-6 dishes. My tip: if you want your food in a specific order, best to order one or two at a time. And start with just three as dishes are substantial, which is a big plus. The cocktail list was so intoxicating we decided to kick off the weekend early. The Coco Chanel had my name all over it! A martini with some raspberry purée and topped with coconut foam and a bright purple orchid was stunning to look at and was exceptional. It actually had alcohol! Some fancy drinks taste more like a mocktail; this didn't. But, and it's a big "BUT", it cost $21. Yep, for one cocktail!!! so basically two would be the price of a steak dinner elsewhere. While the restaurant looks like it could be in NYC, it isn't. It's in Vancouver and these prices are too high for the clientele. My friend had a classic Margarita ($18) and it was also delicious but not $18 delicious. We decided to start with three dishes to determine the size of the plates and quality before committing to the recommended 4-6 per couple. So glad we did! The three dishes were more than enough for a filling and satisfying lunch. And with prices of $14-28 per dish, we would have wasted money and food if we ordered more. So take it slow! If still hungry, you can order more. We ordered 3 small plates: Clams & MuscLes ($28) - Beautifully plated and substantial, the delicate clams & muscles were over powered by the greasy, heavy chorizo and garlic sauce. Typically one of my favorite dishes, making sure to sop up every bit of the sauce with the garlic baguette, we left more than half, including the bread. Too greasy and salty. Bummer. Mushroom Medley ($16) - A blend of different types of mushrooms sautéed in a rich cream sauce. In a word, spectacular. Savory, rich, and filling, the portion was large and was served with three pieces of garlic baguette. I'll definitely order this again. Dosalas Salad ($14) - A simple salad with a sprinkling of Israeli couscous (needed more), a simple lemon dressing with pomegranate glaze. we needed this fresh, crisp and acidic dish to compliment the other rich dishes we ordered. We could have added protein - chicken, shrimp, salmon - for another $10-12. Basque Cheesecake ($12) - I love the caramelized top and jiggly center of a Basque cheesecake. This tasted like regular cheesecake. The slightly sweet habanero glaze on top was delicious and went well with the fresh strawberries. This was enough to share and while not the traditional Basque cheesecake, it was still very good. Service was attentive. Too attentive. We were constantly asked if we wanted another cocktail or more dishes even though we repeatedly said we were fine and that we were enjoying catching up while slowly enjoying our meal. It felt like they were trying to push more expensive items our way. Even though there wasn't consistency in the dishes from a taste and quality perspective - and for the prices everything should be exceptional - I will be absolutely come back. The atmosphere, view and the food we did love makes Dosalas a destination for a special occasion or just a reason to feel special. Great Happy Hour! Dosalas is a gorgeous waterfront restaurant. We went early, when they opened for happy hour. We sat at the bar which has partial views of the river. Andrea was our bartender and tequila expert. I ordered the HH margarita. My husband ordered bourbon because he saw they had quite a few hard to get bottles. Who knew Dosalas would have rare bourbons? He chose a William Larue Weller, neat. We ordered guacamole with chips. It's served with 2 big chips you can break up into smaller pieces or pile on the guacamole and eat like a tostada. The incredible seasoning on the chips set it apart from any I have ever had. We also ordered street tacos ( comes with 3) excellent soft shell with flavorful tender meat. My boyfriend keeps telling me about this place and we decided to do another Valentine's Day dinner here. This is honestly such a gorgeous restaurant. I love the layout and the whole idea of tapas and having a bar girl walk around offering you shots or margaritas! I can see why some of the ratings are low because it is overpriced! I'm from California and when I eat it's mostly about the quality of food, taste, and service. This location also looks over the waterfront, which is perfect for date nights. On to the food... Short rib empanadas: 4/5. Perfect crisp stuffed with meat! Grilled octopus: 3/5. Too salty and not a dish that impressed me. Mexican street corn: 4/5 a bit salty, especially on the tostadas. Corn was flavorful Lamb shanks: 5/5! Delicious and flavorful. Loved the combination with mint and mashed potatoes. Roasted squash medley: 5/5! Beyond fire! The spices and the flavor went super well! I could eat this all the time! Overall food had a nice presentation. Staff was super friendly and attentive. It did cost a lot. Probably more if I drank. I decided to go sober this time, but there are so many choices of alcohol. I would come back. Parking is street or lot. There's valet, but a bit pricey. Def recommended for a hot date or celebration. Yes, it is very expensive but I thought the atmospher, service, and views were all amazing...in other words I thought the prices were worth it. I had the Vintage Fashion. Yes, it was $24 but it was fantastic and was also presented in its own applewood smoke box; needless to say it had the 'wow' factor. My friend had a mojito and it was also very good. I thought Dosalasn had a very 'Vegas' feel to it which I really enjoyed, plus it offers great views of the river. We had fun and I'll definitely be going back. This time around i was a little disappointed i wasn't able to get my hands on the tomahawk steak because they had run out. It was 7 pm so consider going earlier i guess if you want to order that. I had to settle with a ribeye steak which if im being honest the presentation was a little hectic in my opinion. The green stuff is mashed potatoes and it also came with a tiny side of Brussel sprouts. In my opinion there is no worse way to ruin a steak by overdoing the plate with a brunch of crap. If you're looking to spend your money on some bomb drinks and flavorful dishes- this is the place you need to go! Don't expect to get your $8 cocktails here, btw. But trust me- you're going to want to experience this restaurant at least once. Parking is a bit tricky. Even on weekdays, expect to park at the paid parking lots in the back (with hopes that it'll still be there since they're building lots of new apartment buildings in the area). This spot has great ambiance. The view from our table was immaculate, I could see the river and the bridge beautifully. The whole restaurant is very clean. I'm not one to dress up so showing up in a t shirt and jeans I felt a little out of place but the waitstaff were super friendly, dressed nicely and made great recommendations. The food was good, but for the price I was slightly underwhelmed. The parm wheel pasta was a cool experience and great flavor but a bit dry. We had dinner for the first time tonight. Oh. My. Gosh. Amazing!!!! The design of this location is absolutely stunning! I'm an interior designer and was impressed with the fantastic combination of textures, style and pure ambiance. Even the staff was dressed to impress. Now to the food and drinks... I could not have dreamt of a better meal. We started with the Dosalas Chunky guacamole and chips. Probably the best we have ever had, EVER! The flavors would fresh, flavorful and melted in your mouth amazing. Pretty sure my husband and I fought over the last chip and spoonful. We shared the New York Strip Loin. Tender, juicy, packed full of rich flavor. This delicious side of beef was served with creamy mashed potatoes, sautéed mushrooms and brussels sprouts. I'm still in awe of the flavors in each bite. To top it all off, I order 2 signature drinks, the Crazy Stupid Love and finished off with a Classic strawberry margarita. They know how to make drinks!!!! My wife surprised me with dinner here for my Birthday. The location is pretty amazing, right on the waterfront and the interior certainly matches that aesthetic. We were sat outside on the balcony which is a tight squeeze between tables; however the center table with the in-built fireplace is definitely picturesque with the water in the back ground. The prices are perhaps a little on the pricier side; however you definitely get your money's worth of food and more. We had never been so we weren't sure what the portion size would look like and ended up ordering way more than we need, but I guess that's what happens on a Birthday. We ordered the Empanadas and Trio of Guac as starters, and they were honestly enough food for the night. Highly recommend the empanadas, the dough is super flaky, and they do not stinge on the stuffing! plus the sauce and pickled onions pair very well with the pulled pork. Even though we were both already stuffed by this time, my wife ordered the seafood pasta and I had their chimichurri pork chop. Both are enormous portions especially her pasta, which comes with 2 skewers of shrimp, which were cooked to perfection. Dosalas is a fun, vibrant, loud, expensive, interesting restaurant. The entrance is on the back side of the restaurant at street level where the semi surly hostess will sort of greet you, sort of question you before you are taken upstairs to the restaurant. I thought the food was all interesting, great flavors and vibrant presentations. The "Instagram Worthy" on the menu made me want to throw up a little, but I have to admit that those dishes were instagram worthy. A lot of thought has gone into how things look at this restaurant, from the decor, to the way the drinks are presented. It's pretty unique in the Portland/Vancouver area for a place to spend so much energy on how things look (we are a city full of food trucks). As many times as we've been to the Vancouver Waterfront, and dined at many of its restaurants, we'd never yet been to Dosalas. However, a friend had recommended it as a high-class establishment, perfect for a romantic date night or, as was the case this last weekend, for a Mother's Day brunch, and I was lucky enough to snag one of the last available reservations (*highly* recommended for holidays and other peak dining periods). When it comes to aesthetics, Dosalas doesn't cut any corners. Clean, clear-cut, elegant, enchanting: all appropriate adjectives. Pretentious? Yeah, a bit. Servers that look (and strut) like runway models. Dazzling décor galore. Instagram-worthy eye-candy around every corner. A narcissist's wet dream, with plenty of opportunities to get your selfie on: a pair of swings in the lobby, a mural of angel wings ("dos alas") to show off your inner seraph. I'm surprised the whole place wasn't covered in glitter dust! Interior design aside, it's all for naught if the food and bevs aren't up to snuff. Fortunately, Dosalas manages to deliver on that front as well. We decided to split a handful of light bites, including the Dungeness Crab Toast, Mexican Street Corn, and the short rib empanadas, along with a Coco Chanel cocktail for my wife, and the Vintage Fashion for myself, which comes in an applewood smoke box, for dramatic effect as well as imparting a campfire essence. Smoke and mirrors, almost literally, but still a fun parlor trick. It was a damn fine Old Fashioned, to be sure, but difficult to justify the price, even including the spectacle. Conversely, my wife loved her Coco Chanel immensely, giddily claiming it was the best cocktail she'd ever had. [She ordered another afterward]. It put her in such a good mood, she wondered if there was some other "secret ingredient" inside that was responsible for her giggling exuberance. Starting with the empanadas, which arrived almost immediately, you get three beefy envelopes of tender meat and pickled onion, which are tasty by themselves, but elevated to perfection with the provided cilantro crema. This was probably our favorite of the three appetizers we ordered. The Dungeness Crab toast, while loaded with crustacean goodness, was almost overwhelmed by the significant slab of bread on which it was served. Lastly, the Mexican street corn, served with a side of crispy tortillas (corn on corn action, bordering on cornography!) was simply a-MAIZE-ing, despite being grossly overpriced. Our server, Paris (because OF COURSE that's your name!), was exceptional from start to finish - attentive, friendly, efficient, charismatic. I suspect that sub-par service here would be a death sentence for anyone endeavoring to work here. They're dressed to the nines, and their competence is as refined and tailored as their choice in fashion. Unfortunately, all this glitz and glamour comes with a price, in the form of the check. With cocktails running $20 or more a piece, and even small plates not much further behind, no meal here will ever run you less than a Benjamin, at the very least, and that's not even taking into consideration some of the main dinner entrées which are, fortunately, intentionally large enough to split between multiple people. Valet parking is also available out front for $15/$25 per vehicle (based on size), if necessary, which in our case it was, since every parking lot at the Waterfront was filled to capacity on Mother's Day. I thought we were going to miss our reservation while looking for a spot, so I'm thankful Dosalas offers this service. Dosalas is an indulgence in luxurious excess, with all the charms and caveats that accompany such an experience, perfect for special occasions and celebrations, but by its very nature, prohibitively inaccessible to frequent return visits. Beautiful interior and restaurant overall. Extremely busy on a Friday night. We needed a high chair and they placed us at a high table, so my daughter's head didn't even reach the table. Our server was fantastic. Food and drinks were really good, surprisingly. Just spendy for the portions. I got the Crazy, Stupid, Love drink which was essentially a fruity Moscow mule and loved it. For food we got the Poblano Caesar, Grilled Octopus, and Ancho Spiced Lamb Chops. The food was plated nicely, and the sides complimented each dish very well. The boujee-ness was real here - BUT I was loving the decor. 5 stars on the elevation of decor and style in this place! Our server was really nice! Half the staff is dressed like they're going to a wedding. Very fancy suits and professional attire. This felt like a New York City night club. We ordered drinks: & I asked for an Old Fashioned. For $20 they brought this drink out in a lavish glass case where smoke cascaded out upon opening. First off / my fault I suppose for not reading this drink on the menu / but I HATE Smokey drinks and food. I know, I know - I'm crazy. To pay $20 for a drink you can't stand, with no buzz - was frustrating. We ordered the Lobster Toast. For $18 you get two very small crostini's with less crab then you'd get in a sushi roll ( yes I know this is imitation - but in reference fo portion ). Very disappointed in the flavor profile of this dish. We then tried the Lamb Chop. The Lamb Chops were cooked perfectly, and I loved the rub! For $22 you get the amount of meat you'd find on a few bone in chicken wings. Next up was the mussels and clams. I really liked this dish! The chorizo broth and flavor profile / hit on all cylinders! We finished with the short rib empanadas - and these were fantastic! For $160 - and a meal for 2 - I would expect a fine dining experience to say the least. As I've experienced before. Not this limbo where I feel they haven't quite found their identity. Nice decor - and some promising and noteworthy flavors. Needless to say, we stopped at Mcmenamins on the way home for a drink and an appetizer - as the $160 neither left us full, or with any sort of "edge off" buzz. Didn't have one bad dish here. Some of my favorites were the mushrooms, empanadas and cauliflower.

Absolutely amazing! We tried many dishes but the stand outs for us were the poblano Caesar, pork belly skewers, ancho spiced lamb chops and the paella! The poblano Caesar is something you just have to try! You will want to lick that dressing right off of your plate. Soooo good. The pork belly skewers were melt in your mouth deliciousness. The ancho spiced lamb was cooked perfectly rare and the arugula, pickled onion mixture it was served with I would literally order a salad of! Delicious. The paella... omg. Absolutely amazing. Rice was perfectly cooked and had the perfect amount of crispy rice for texture. The seafood was all cooked perfect and the flavors were just spot on. So good! The drinks!!! Seriously you could come just for the drinks. We tried the purple rain, which is just a must. There's gold dust involved... need I say more? We also had the beautiful pear basil, the cosmo el Diablo, and the daq attack daqueri. Presentation was spot on with all but I would definitely order the cosmo del Diablo again and again. Everything we tried was delicious and the scenery just tops it off. Excellent dinner and fabulous space! Ladies, bring your phone to the bathroom, there's an amazing wall for photos. read more

Great food, little pricey, but great food! Cocktails were fantastic, table with a view, great service and wow what a menu! I wish we would have gone with at least 4 people so we could have tried the pasta in the full size cheese wheel, or the tomahawk! read more

We came in on a Sunday around 4:00 for some light bites while we were walking around the waterfront. I was really excited when we first walked in, as it's a gorgeous space, but was quickly disappointed. We got the guacamole trio, which was just fine. Our glasses had to be replaced because they were dirty, then we found something floating in the bottle. We had to ask for cutlery and napkins after our food came out. We waited quite a long time for our server to come back. All in all, for the prices they charging, I expected FAR MORE. read more

I came here with a group of girl friends and loved the ambience of this place! The restaurant was so pretty and is near the waterfront so we took pictures after dinner. For drinks, I got the Coco Chanel and it was by far my favorite drink I have ever gotten at a place! It's sweet and a little milky from the coconut foam. My friend got the Margarita flight and I thought it was decent. The mango one was probably the best tasting and the spicy was quite spicy. The other flavors tasted too similar and didn't stand out. As for food, it was better than what I expected but quite expensive. I honestly would skip the Brazilian cheese bread. It was $8 for 4 tiny pieces; basically tasted the same as the frozen ones you can get at Costco. We got the seafood taco which was shrimp that day and it was so bland. It really needed some sauce on it. The Mexican cheese corn was pretty good! And we also got the paella for 2 (which I think is enough to share with 4!) which was pretty good as well and I would get again. Overall, a beautiful place. The servers were nice. Expensive place but I would come again for the experience. I wouldn't come here expecting to get full though unless if I really wanted to splurge. read more
