4.5 stars. Really liked this place! Cute decor. Easy parking because at a crossroads with multiple streets. Good seating if the weather is nice because they have a bunch of outdoor seating. Order at the bar. We sat right away at the bar and there was high turn over all night, but no one needed to really wait. We came for food mostly. We got fries (a tad too salty but crispy and the shape I like), Brussels sprouts (great), burger (unexpectedly one of the better burgers I've had recently), and pork belly banh mi. I think the banh mi is my favorite in Portland thus far. The baguette they use is more rustic style than French so it has a great crunch which I love. The cocktail we tried with alcohol was good. The mocktail selection could improve--I think most places now put the same about of effort into this as their alcoholic options. Look forward to returning and trying the ramen! read more

It ended up being a great spot for my friend and I to chill after landing in Portland. Ok, we stuffed ourselves at Virtuous Pie around the corner first, but you get the drift. Reasonably priced drinks - I went with the bartender's recommendation of the Ginger Margarita and it didn't disappoint as it had a little zing to it. My friend's mocktail looked like the real deal and she enjoyed it. I also liked the funky ambient music they were playing and would have liked to have stayed a little longer, but during Covid things apparently lock down early here and the staff was watching the clock. This looks like a place that would be fun for a group that might include children. However, when we got there, the server rather snarly told us that they don't allow kids after 630. There is a large outdoor space and it seems like it might work for groups or families. However, this is just a bar with nice food or nice looking food as we weren't allowed to eat it. Edited: I had to search on the Yelp app to find out that the restaurant isn't great for kids. It might be good to have that more prominently displayed. I hadn't been to Double Dragon in years, and finally came back for a late dinner! Their patio is open with pretty good seating which is awesome for those warm nights in Portland. When we came, there was a bit of a wait, so we put our names on the waitlist. Their system is really good, where you can put your name on the list, then enjoy some drinks at the side of the building until your name is called. We only waited about 5 minutes before we were seated which was great! They also assign you a table once it's cleaned, so there's no fighting or waiting around for a party to leave. I just got a seltzer in a can, but their drinks look AMAZING - I will definitely be back to try those out another day. I ordered the House Ramen for dinner, and was surprised with how much I enjoyed it! The noodles were a bit stuck together, but they were cooked perfectly. The broth was a chicken & pork bone broth with coconut milk, that was so creamy and flavorful. I literally ate the whole thing and sipped all the broth, it was that worth it. Although the ramen only came with one slice of char siu pork, it literally melted in my mouth and had a nice char to it - I just wish I had more! There's definitely more things on the menu that I'd like to try, so I will for sure be back again soon to enjoy the food, drinks, and patio. read more

Overall: Stumbled upon this place after another bar we originally intended to go to was too busy. Let me tell you... I am glad we did because the ramen and the cocktails were delicious! They have plants hanging from the ceiling , adding to the aesthetic. Also looks like they have outdoor seating during the summer. Food: House Ramen: The ramen was so comforting and good. THE BROTH WAS DELICIOUS. It was thicker and very flavorful, but not spicy. It comes with a piece of pork belly that was crispy yet soft, a delicious soft boiled egg, and fresh herbs. Highly recommend! Rice Bowl: The rice bowl was good but not as good as the ramen. It came with cucumber that had no seasoning, mushrooms, arugula and chickpeas. The rice was mixed with chimichurri. The sun was finally out in Portland so we decided to find a restaurant with patio seating that had delicious food. I found Double dragon via tik tok (lol) from a random girl's post. The food looked so good we decided to come check it out. Kind of hard to find parking between 5-7 since it's mainly street parking, luckily we were able to secure a spot not too far away. The vibe was nice and the staff was friendly. Pick up a menu and order at the bar, they give you a number and you find your own seat. We sat out at the benches in the corner so that we can people watch too. The food came out fairly quick, and all at the same time! We ordered the burger, pork belly banh mi and the famous pork belly ramen with egg. The burger was the best, it was juicy and moist and the flavor was perfect. We should have gotten 2! we also shared a banh mi and it was good.. not amazing but tasty. The bread was perfect but veggies overpowered the pork belly, it was way too much veggie ratio compared to how little the meat was. The ramen was good too, it could use a little chicken Buillion or more flavoring and wasn't as spicy as it looked. Overall I rate it 4 stars and will def be back to try the rest of the items on the menu read more

We arrived into Portland late at night and was struggling to find a place to eat dinner around 10pm, when Double Dragon popped up on yelp. Everyone was raving about their ramen and drinks, so we decided to stop by here. Upon arrival, I had very low expectations for their food but I was very pleasantly surprised. Disclaimer, their ramen is *not* ramen. It tasted a lot more like Thai soup noodles, with their coconut style broth BUT it was a very delicious Thai soup noodle. We also ordered a side of the fries with everything added (queso, bacon, ranch) which was also very good. Now for the drinks, wowwwww, definitely one of my favorites of all time. What I really appreciated about their menus is that they show you a drawing of the drink, so it gives you an idea of how they will taste. I had the push pop and it was the sweetest, most addicting, yet unique mixed drink I ever had. (Have you ever had turmeric in your drink...and liked it?) This place just nails it. I first went here with some friends and had a great time. I suggested it to my parents when they visited while I finished work and they loved it so much we almost went back every night! First the location is great for people in the Buckman neighborhood because it's walkable. There's lots of outdoor seating which is awesome during those nice months. The vibe and decor are also fun. This place has awesome outdoor seating area. You have to order at the bar, but they do have bussers that buss the table from time to time. The menu is small - 4-ish items. Between the four of us, we got the rice bowl with soy curls, which was good - crispy soy curls are a bit too sweet, which was weird for me, but they were alright otherwise. Our friends got the bánh mi and said it was good. I got the burger, and while the burger and bun were good, they use nasty American cheese that sticks to the inside of your mouth. I can't for the life of me figure why they would decide to ruin a burger with such a cheap ingredient. Also, when I looked at my credit card statement after I got home a couple of days later, it looks like they charged me $10-$15 more than I was supposed to get charged. My partner and I ordered the burger, rice bowl, a beer and a sparkling water and it came out to $65! They didn't give me a receipt, so I am not sure what happened there. My friends had mentioned also getting shafted by this place when they left their tab open and the place "accidentally" charged someone else's food/drink to their tab. The drinks menu also have drawings representing what type of cup (rocks, collins, coupe, etc) and ice (large cube, standard cubes, none, etc) you will be getting with the drink. The Kimchi was ok, the sesame seeds was a nice addition, but it didn't seem particularly fermented. Depending on what you want that may be a good or a bad thing. The nachos were great and came quickly. Plenty of toppings to go with each bite and the chips stayed crunchy the entire time, which is always a challenge. Bartenders wore masks and kept their masks on. Guests not so much, but it is what it is. There were 2 reasons I came here: ramen and outdoor heated patio. They currently aren't doing any indoor dining, but have a great patio as well as an uncovered grassy area with picnic tables with umbrellas. They only serve one ramen, and it is pretty unique and tasty in that it has coconut milk in it, it's a lot like Tom kha soup, and it's delicious! I usually don't drink my ramen broth, but I drank it all here, also because it was a breezy windy day and I needed to stay warm. The char siu was also well done, it is a fairly thick slice, well seasoned, and not dry, which I've found to be an issue at a lot of places. It also comes with a soft boiled egg, which is always a treat! The reason I took off a star is because my noodles were clumped and stuck together in several balls. Also, there isn't much else in the way of toppings, just a little cilantro and green onion, so it seems plain. I'd like to see some bean sprouts or bamboo shoots, just something more to eat along with the noodles. Busy on a sunny Thursday to kick off Portland summer. Patio seating was pretty full, but my friend and I managed to squeeze in at a large shared high top. The line to get a drink goes out the door, but it takes less than 10 minutes to get your cocktail, and order your food, which is awesome. The bartenders here were very friendly and provided great service. The ambiance was quite unique, mostly based on the dim lighting provided by christmas lights. I tried their famous Banh mi burger and will never forget it. I want to go back to Portland just for that damn burger alone. I've been a patron of Double Dragon for many years. I visit them, at the very least, once a month. I get the Pork Belly Rice Bowl and side of Brussels Sprouts every time. I appreciate them for having these delicious gluten free options. When I was drinking alcohol I would enjoy their Ginger Margaritas. Now that I'm not drinking alcohol, I enjoy a Cock N Bull Ginger Beer instead. They were innovative and remained reliable throughout the pandemic. We really appreciate that they stayed open and served to-go food and cocktails in a time of darkness. We relied on our little trips to Double Dragon for hints of normalcy. Was recommended to stop by and check out this spot by a Portland local. The name caught my attention as growing up in the 80s had a significant meaning to this establishments name! Sad the Double Dragon arcade machine was out for maintenance though. I was craving something brothy and so opted for their coconut curry ramen. I just say it wasn't a bad choice at all. Being overwhelmed by your normal shoyu or miso ramen types, this sounded like an interesting take! I thought it was overall excellent as it wasn't too sweet like a coconut curry, and maintained a bit of saltiness to make it an authentic ramen fusion.
