Horrible waitstaff and service. Owners don't give a flying you know what about their customers or apparently take pride in what they serve. Hubby and i went out to dinner and settled on Chinese which was a horrible mistake. John was supposed to our waiter and he came over explained our simple order and it took 50 minutes to even come out . Now mind you that was after the entire rest of the restaurant got thier food . Then he has the balls to place the food on the table knowing it wrong yes i said wrong order. Then tries and blames the cooks which is a bunch of crap. By this point i was already frustrated and my husband was getting peeved . So i asked to speak with the manager and he kept saying oh he is coming followed by the owners wife who came out. We both told her what had happened and she said " we can only give you 20% off and i said no you will either comp this ticket or give us at least a decent discount. She ran back to her husband who is the owner then says " so we comp meal we toss your food and you don't eat or have to pay for it " so we got up and left after that remark . Rude staff and establishment!!! I strongly recommend don't give your business to this hell hole . Specially when they can't buy new chairs they have to use duct tape to cover the holes. read more

Used to be great. Last month or two have noticed a steep drop off in service and consistency. I just now tried to order lunch and was left on hold. They forgot me. Last time I ordered they did not give me their usual egg roll and egg drop soup. I keep wanting to give them second and third chances but I think I'll go down the road to Panda Express from now on till they open their dining area again. Purchased a small order of pork fried rice today. Not my first visit. Today was a disappointment. Very little pork or egg, tasteless rice. Of course, its cheap food, if you don't want to eat it, it's not that cheap. While I'm on the subject, I would often purchase the sweet and sour or orange chicken. The quality of the chicken is so bad, that I won't be purchasing that again. I'm not a foodie by any means, but when I give a restaurant my business, I expect to enjoy the food provided. We have eaten at DD 3x. On all occasions the food was fresh, especially the vegetables, but the food was so salty as to render it almost inedible and decidedly unpleasant. After the first take out order, we asked them to cut way back on the salt content but, alas, the subsequent orders, if anything, were even more salty than the first order. Our soups were similarly salty to the variety of entrees we have ordered. It is indeed unfortunate that the cook(s) have such a heavy hand with the salt. We have decided that after 3 meals there, we will not return. When a guest requests less salt and gets even more salt twice, we will go elsewhere. read more

Today my family visited this restaurant. The food was mediocre at best. We ordered sweet and sour chicken. Many of the pieces had chicken so small it was pathetic, mostly breading. The rice was bland. Our waitress gave us lousy service. When we requested our drinks ( we received our food 10 minutes earlier) We didn't get them all. I got up and ask about the other drink and the service went from bad to worse. I always leave at least 20% tip. For the first time in my life I left no tip. I feel no regrets. Chinese fast food. It's cheap and greasy. It's not gourmet Chinese but it's convenient, We order to go when we want something quick and cheap. I recommend the garlic chicken with vegetables - it's very flavorful and probably the only thing I like on their menu. The egg drop soup is ok, but nothing to get excited about. read more

I decided to try this place on a recommendation from my neighbor. Although she said it was "so-so". The food is quite bland. I had hot and sour soup and it was neither hot nor sour. I also had the Kung Pao Chicken. It's supposed have a kick and it was also flavorless and had no kick. The portion was huge and probably enough for two to three people. I eat at Chinese places when ever I can as it's my favorite cuisine. Don't know if I'll try this place again. Probably not. If you like bland flavorless food, this may be the place for you. New chef so food is not as consistent in taste. This chef tends to overcook dishes. Pork in S&S was very dry. Uses brown sauce in most dishes that used to use a lighter more savory sauce, especially in the veggie dishes like chicken cashew. Very disappointed. read more

Words can't describe the nasty tasting food. It wasn't worth it. The egg drop soup stunk old and nasty. Their fried rice was hard old and flavorless. Their fries, we're stale and old. This is my favorite local Chinese restaurant. My husband and I have eaten here several times, and the food is always delicious. They have some very, very hot and spicy mustard, which is one of my favorite reasons for going. It's not the yellow, bland stuff in the little packets. This will clear your nasal passages and probably the person's next to you, too. Every dish I've ever tried at Double Dragon has been tasty, and the service has always been fast and good. A great little place that you could easily miss, since it's off the main road in northern Rio Rancho. Check it out if you want a good (and cheap) Chinese meal! read more

The food was atrocious, my 2 yr old had the boneless pork ribs. The ribs tasted like they've been cooked and reheated many times. He only ate one, my girls had fries and shrimp, my 6 yr old threw up as soon as we left. My wife had string beans and rice, the rice was so hard you could cut diamonds. My rice was hard as well, our older daughters rice was hard as a rock too. I would not could not recommend this restaurant for anyone to eat. read more

One of the best Chinese restaurants in Rio Rancho. For call in take out orders they always say 10-15 minutes. It's more like 20-25 minutes. The food is tasty, but not too hot. If you like hot and spivey Asian food try the Bannana Leaf. read more

Soup was great but that was about it. Only one waiter and he was all over the place. The tables were not cleared and the food was dry. Decor out dated and my order was messed up. My guest food had no taste what so ever and may have been over cooked. Will only come back for the soup and I'll make sure to take it home instead of dining in. read more

It always smells pretty bad when you dine in. The chicken meat always has a real chewy rubbery part to it. I have tried this several times, I want it to be good. And it just isn't. They need to buy higher quality ingredients and keep their facility cleaner. read more

So, today there is irony. I travel all around the state for work and my recent review of Chow's of Santa Fe was disappointing at best and had mentioned that I will try DD next time. Lo and behold there is a DD also in Rio Rancho, just down the road from where I'm typing away today. The fates aligned for me to do a counter-review to compare to uber-expensive Chow's of Santa Fe. Ordered a pretty tame meal for me, Roast Pork Egg Foo Young....old classic but when you're craving gravy goodness, it hits the spot...when it's decent and this one was more than decent. Not only were the omelet pancakes hearty, they were well-balanced with rustic chunks of veggies. The gravy was better than most and the fried rice was quite good. And guess what? It was only $8 (I got the Combo, the smaller lunch special is only $6) versus the $13+egg rolls = almost $18 at Chow's of SF. And there was RICE (which Chow's doesn't give even with entree pricing and no lunch specials to speak of. Very good, DD. Not greasy. Great value and quality. Will definitely hit DD in either RR or SF again. :) read more

We went there last night and ordered the Family Dinner for two. The broccoli that came with the meal tasted stale for starters. The eggrolls tasted nasty and the chicken in the sweet and sour chicken had an odd, gross taste. We've had so-so results over the last few years, but it seems to have gone worse recently. Even the restrooms were unacceptable, with the door unable to latch and the toilet unable to flush. Sorry, but we're done, Golden Dragon. read more

My fiance and I usually go here for their lunch special. We hadn't been there in a while and decided to go today. My fiance got the orange chicken and I got the sesame chicken. It seems that the restaurant may have changed management because our meals were very different from past visits. The food portions were much smaller, which is fine, but the food was pretty bad. The food wasn't spoiled or anything but it was just not good. The orange chicken tasted like nothing-it was very bland. My sesame chicken was not sesame chicken. It was a light yellow/orange color like the orange chicken and tasted exactly like the orange chicken. I am pretty confident they just gave me the orange chicken and tossed on some sesame seeds. The rice was soggy, which was a really weird texture. The egg rolls were good, but they were little mini versions. The soups were ok, soup is soup I guess. I'm not a big foodie, but this was such bad food. Like I said, it wasn't spoiled or anything... it was just bad food.
