I would definitely return. I ordered the Standard Classy Burger ($17) with a single patty, and they automatically gave me a $5 discount, which I appreciated. I asked to substitute the regular onions for grilled onions, but I must not have been clear because I ended up being charged an extra $3 for the grilled onions while still receiving the regular onions. It wasn't a huge deal, but it's something to be aware of when ordering. The burger itself was good, but I was underwhelmed by the potato bun. For a burger at this price point, I would have expected the bun to be toasted. Instead, it fell apart quickly, became soggy, and made the burger messy to eat. I can't imagine how it would have held up with two patties or if I had ordered it to go. We sat outside and enjoyed a beautiful day in Coronado, which made for a great dining experience. While I think it's a bit pricey if you're just ordering a burger, the menu offers plenty of other food and drink options. Overall, I would return and would be interested in trying more of the menu next time.

Double Standard is a burger shop next to Village Pizzeria and I was told both have a common connecting door because they share the same owners. Double Standard's claim of fame is the Wagyu beef patty burgers. The menu shows burger creations which were stacked burgers, which I like but I was more interested in tasting the Wagyu patty. So after reviewing the menu, I ordered the kids burger combo to share with my pup, who is burger aficionado lol The kids burger is plain, just beef patty between potato buns. I upgraded from just french fries to 'Frings' which are fries and onion rings in a smaller portion. The food was ready and brought to our table. I tried a couple bites of the Wagyu beef patty, which was good and my pup devoured the rest and liked it. The frings: there were two onion ring slices, cut thick, crispy and scrumptious as is no sauce needed, so good. The french fries were dry and flavorless despite it being cooked in tallow, had zero flavor alone, so these would rely on dipping sauces which I passed on. These french fries are among the worst and inedible, so glad I didn't order a full adult size. A step inside, you hear music compilation from the eighties. The posters and pics on the walls are of iconic characters from tv, movies or music...all can be nostalgic. With the exception of the server who brought out the food, the rest of the staff behind the counter weren't cordial, helpful or friendly. Since ordering was done via the tablet, the only thing the behind the counter staff did was filling drink orders, so that's inefficiency and not customer service oriented. The restaurant interior decor is dark wood throughout with pics and posters Farah Fawcett and Tom Selleck in the front entry and one surf board, I guess you have to be from the eighties to really appreciate it all lol My order wasn't a true gage of their signature double stand burgers so I need to revisit and I would do so especially during Happy Hour which is everyday starting at 3pm!

Quick service style restaurant. Order at the counter and they bring you the food. Gotta say the burgers were really good. Loved the onion rings, but the dump truck fries were a bit much. It was a meal on its own. Want to go back during happy hour.

There are SOOOOO many great things about this place that I'd have to break it down item by item from the food all the way down to the ambiance and music they played. Here we go! First of all customer service was great! This place is fairly busy for a Tuesday at lunch time. We were greeted by a gal with the friendliest genuine smile who had great suggestions for us. And the guy that was working with her was equally as friendly and attentive. The restaurant itself was an homage to people born from the 70s to 90s. Walking in gave me St. Elmo's Fire vibes and it was decked out with 80s decor and then some. The music the played was so nostalgic it brought back so many memories from my elementary to middle school days. And hubby middle to high school vibes. Fun fact, we decided to spend our 36 years from when we first started dating at the actual area we took our first date so this place was ABSOLUTELY perfect for it! NOW let's get onto the food shall we? I want to start off with the root beer float. For years, out of all the root beer floats I've tried at a multitude of different restaurants from bougie to fast food, Chick-fil-A was always my #1. Well sorry to say Chick-fil-A, but DOUBLE STANDARD IS MY NEW #1! Mootime ice cream paired with draft root beer?! C'mon it's a no brainer as to why it's my new fave! Now the burgers. Hubs had the double dirty and damn it was delicious! I had the Leroy and it was equally as good. I just couldn't decide which one I liked better! Wagyu smash burgers at its finest. Then me and hubs shared a large order of frings. They were fried in beef tallow and it didn't have that fatty gamey aftertaste like a lot of stuff fried in beef tallow does. What I liked about it was that the fries were such that if they sat for a little while it would still be great especially paired with the truffle aioli dipping sauce. The onion rings were GINORMOUS! Hubs liked it with the honey mustard dip and I liked it with the ranch. We ended it with the chocolate cookie dough taco. Everything was great! A little pricey but well worth it. And they do offer military discount so that's a plus. Suffice it to say we will definitely add this place to our go to burger spots. Thanks again for an amazing anniversary date!

Pretty low rating that we ignored. Fries looked like they were bottom of the bag and cooked in dirty cold grease. We barely made it a few bites through the burgers. Hard pass and won't be back.

Great location in Coronado. Fantastic and friendly service. We came on a beautiful Sunday afternoon about 2:50 pm. We saw they have happy hour from 3-5pm. We decided to wait the 10 minutes to take advantage of the HH deals. As we waited we got ourselves a pitcher of beer and sat outside. By the time it was 3pm we ordered some of the HH specials which included a single patty burger with fries, all of the sandwiches (i.e. chicken sandwiches and grilled cheese) all for $10!! We also ordered the dump truck fries which were delicious. Dump truck fries were delicious with chopped Wagyu burger, their house sauce, I think some diced pickles or relish on top of some very crispy fries. I got the no 2 burger which was delicious. I wanted to get a more traditional burger to see how it tastes and didn't disappoint. However, I may get the no 1 next time only because I prefer raw onions over grilled. I would definitely come here again if I'm in the area and in the mood for a burger.

I came here slightly earlier in the week, and they just opened like last week. Or maybe two weeks ago. I got a burger, onion rings, and chicken fingers. I actually thought the burger was the least impressive item out of the three. The savoriness was mid, and towards the end, I started feeling like the two patties were a tad dry. Additionally, the lettuce is of the little shredded variety that I don't like, and the bun is also a bit thinner and less dense than my preference. I got the small onion rings, but I was impressed by how large and hefty the individual rings were. The actual onion they used on the inside were very fat and wide cuts also. I did feel that some of the breading was too crunchy and substantial for onion rings for my preference. I thought the chicken strips were the best item. They looked like they'd be too dry, but they were surprisingly soft and evenly cooked despite how big they were. I mean, not like the best ever or anything, just a lot better than I expected. I also liked the bird sauce. Finally, they had some minor issues due to being newly opened. I ordered a coke, but there was some issue with the machine that caused it to not get enough of the syrup, so they noticed immediately, apologized and I got a root beer instead. While myself and other customers were in the restaurant, there was a dude with a tripod camera and lights hanging out in the corner next to me, working with someone that looked like the owner/manager, trying to take some marketing pictures of some food right on the bar. When paying, the bartender immediately closed my tab before I started eating, like I had simply ordered a beer. The receipt said "take out," and I didn't even have a chance to leave a tip using my card. I got curious enough to ask, and she explained that they're still having technical difficulties with the register. The handheld register that I would've tapped my card on couldn't be used yet because it was supposed to connect to their WiFi, which they were also having issues with. All in all, an interesting visit.

My girlfriend and I stopped in during memorial day which was very busy but we were still able to get quick service here. It is kinda pricey but for the quality of food and service its very understandable. We tried the Leroy double. The burger is packed with flavor. The bacon jam gives a nice smokey and sweet balance to the savory patties. The fries were crisp abd great portions! If you are in the area it is definitely worth a visit.

We loved this new spot in Coronado! It is a cute new hamburger joint right on the main street. The inside has a lot of cool decor. The fries were very good. They tasted very fresh and they were a good mix of soft and crispy on the outside. The burger had so much flavor. It was delicious. The patty tasted very fresh and it was extra juicy. Get out those napkins because you will need it. The pickles were very crispy and the jam that was on the inside of the burger tasted so good altogether. Whatever you do don't make any changes to the burger. The ranch was also really good and they gave you a good amount for the price. Overall good experience, we will be back again.

This burger place is really cool, nicely decorated and the service is really good. The burgers are really good, a little too pricey for me. The fries were really good. They charge extra for dipping sauces like ranch. The only thing I was not happy about was the onion rings, they were very big and hard to eat, mostly breading and very thin slice of onion.

Went here to get a hangover meal and damn these chicken filets are HUGE. I had no idea every burger was literally "double" but kinda fun if you're a big back like me. Couldn't finish all of it because I'm on ozempic but really good chicken and RANCH IS 10/10 I will be back to try the naughty fries. Place was cute. Servers were sweet and cute.

The service was excellent so that's all I'm going off of. The menu did look pretty fire though, so I'd be willing to give it another shot cause for all intents and purposes, the other people in the restaurant seemed to be really enjoying the food! But anyways... I'm a skillet cookie connoisseur. Any place that has a skillet cookie, I'm going there SOLEY to order it. If I ever get married, instead of having cake, my guests will be having skillet cookies for dessert instead. Some might say I love skillet cookies even more than Scottie Scheffler. My love for skillet cookies runs deeper than the Mariana trench and I've been to more than (at least) 11 restaurants to exclusively try them out. With that out of the way... I'm horrified to report this is the worst skillet cookie I've ever had in my entire life. It somehow felt overcooked, yet undercooked at the same time. It was also like they cooked it at an angle. Because it awkwardly occupied 3/4ths of the skillet. It had the consistency of a cake but the taste of a cookie? It was like they couldn't decide whether or not they wanted to make a cake or a cookie. So instead, they decided to half bake something that was in between. I couldn't believe it. It was also completely lacking in the chocolate chip department. All in all, this skillet cookie had a worse performance than Michael Jordan during his high school varsity tryouts. I'll admit it too... I completely lied to the waitress when she came over and asked me how the cookie was. Instead of telling her the truth, I gave her two thumbs up and said, " it's good!".... It was not good. It was terrible! I'm a coward.

On my most recent visit, I ordered the Grilled Bacon & Blistered Shishito Pepper Burger. While the burger looked delicious, and tasted decent, I had higher hopes for it. I was wanting the burger to be a bit more juicy and spicy. While there is some room for improvement there, it's definitely still a place I'll be back to!

From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by an uplifting open-air environment, truly a breath of fresh air that felt like stepping onto the observation deck of the USS Enterprise. The amazing views of the bay were nothing short of spectacular, bringing a serene beauty that rivals the finest star systems. Over the years, my wife, her girlfriend, and I have become frequent travelers to this culinary haven, beaming back for nearly 15 years--a testament to its enduring allure. The selection of IPAs and mixed drinks is impressive, catering to even the most discerning palates in the galaxy. The choices are vast enough to satisfy anyone embarking on this flavor exploration, whether you prefer a refreshing drink to toast a successful mission or something bolder, like a phaser on stun! The menu features a delightful array of options, including fresh salads, tantalizing finger foods, and, of course, their famed burgers. My wife's enthusiasm for the offerings has always been infectious, and during this visit, she and her girlfriend were on a culinary adventure of their own, indulging in the flavors that have made Nicky Rottens a local favorite. We looked up how to get to Burger Lounge, added their app, and looked at the menu to figure out which burgers we were craving. We were extremely impressed with the service we received for a restaurant that wasn't a sit-down restaurant, the taste of the burgers, and the quick texts we received from the restaurant when signing up with the app. We arrived to Burger Lounge around 7:15 PM on a weekday evening. There were a number of people sitting down in the chairs just outside as there was limited seating inside. We went right inside as someone else was wrapping up their order at the counter. We then were able to place an order almost immediately. I went for The "Classic" which consists of grass-fed beef, American cheese, organic ketchup, mustard, onion, and pickles. I substituted cheddar cheese. My wife chose the Ancient Grain Burger with a quinoa/veggie patty, choice of cheddar cheese or vegan cheddar (she chose regular cheddar cheese), lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and BL 1000 (which she left off). I also ordered a Real Chocolate Milk Shake. My wife, who usually just says that a meal was "okay" was raving about how great Burger Lounge is, and I also thought the burger and shake were amazing! When I added the app (https://www.burgerlounge.com/promotions/download-our-app), I entered my info and birthday and received a $5 off $30+ online order code. Also, since this is my birthday month, I also received a promo code for a free shake with no purchase necessary.
