    Spring drink menu

I haven't been able to find anywhere else in town that makes a Juicy Lucy. I think some places used to, but they no longer have them on the menu. And of course, they're easy enough that you might be able to talk someplace into making it for you. Or, make one at home! It's not hard. We used to do it all the time. I think we just called them stuffed burgers. Put your own cheese inside, or whatever you like. Anyway, I've been thinking about getting one, and coming here, for a long time. I've been hanging out in German Village more, so I have already tried most of the restaurants around. Not this one, not yet. It's a bar/restaurant, and when I went at 6 PM on a Thursday they had a steady stream of people, but were not busy. Service was very good, although a little slow because there was only the one bartender to handle both drinks at the bar and any food orders at the bar or at tables. But she stayed on top of things, and I saw other people getting what looked like above average bar food like wings, etc. And then I got my burger. It was huge. They take two good sized patties and put the cheese of your choice in between there. Of course, your choices are only feta and American I think. I went with feta. There was a lot of stuff in the middle, and it turned the whole concoction into a very large burger. I wasn't quite able to finish it. It also comes with a big pile of pretty darn good fries. And a pickle, which made a nice counterpoint. I really liked the whole meal. The burger was cooked up well, a little crispy on the edges. The cheese was semi melted, but still intact to some extent. The whole thing held together well. It was on a good bun. I was very impressed, and I would get one again. Plus, there are a few other things on the menu that look nice. I honestly didn't even look closely at the bill, so they may have charged me all the extra things that other people are complaining about. And then I put a tip on top of that. But the price seemed reasonable for the very good, very large portions of food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is pretty cozy inside. Lots of wood, TV screens, bar seats, and tables and booths.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's not huge, but it's big enough. I bet it gets busy on weekends.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They do have a three season room out back.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

My wife went here about 8pm on a Saturday night. They were not busy, just some people hanging out at the bar. The service was excellent and the prices were quite reasonable. The food was great too. My only complaint is the automatic 18% gratuity added to EVERY check. I always tip more than that anyway, but they must have had an issue with customers not tipping? Requiring a tip feels like an odd choice. I had to look it up on the menu afterward and it does say it online, but there was no mention of it in our time there. I could see a lot of people missing that on their check and unintentionally double-tipping. I would probably return here. It's a bar/restaurant, so plenty of options for food and drinks. I am glad they had a veggie sandwich and their french fries were great! My wife liked her salmon sliders and we enjoyed the fried pickle chips too.

Excited about going to a new place and I really really wanted to like it. Website had me make reservation but when we walked in they didn't even care about reservation.our server was so sweet so personable. The place had about 25 people with 1 server, 1 bartender, and 1 in the kitchen. My husband and,ed if she could wipe off the table as it was sticky and she said that was from last night! I thought most restaurants lean up before closing . Food was meh- again great service. Also our soft drinks were served in plastic cups like for take out and we were given plastic silverware. Hard to cut chicken with a plastic knife. At these prices I would have expected real glasses and silver silverware. The food was not good. .A$15 burger should not taste like something I would cook at home. Trust me you would not want to eat something I cooked . My biggest beef were lots of hidden charges when we got our bill . #1 Service Charge $1.00 #2Gratiity was added on 20% for a party of 3. $8.60 #3 Credit Card Surcharge 2.82%. $1.36 #4and they wanted an additional tip !!!!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Double Take is a nice bar downtown.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Amosphere is nice and comfortable the drinks well made.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's I love the lighting that gives it kind of a tavern like effect[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's a nice little patio out in the back with a wall waterfall in the summertime.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They do a variety of different events depending on the day. Friday night is R&b night currently burlt there's also a delicious brunch on Sundays and karaoke some nights. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is not usually crowded but that's depending on what's going on but a nice place to hang out on any day and really good food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I was looking forward to trying this place out and ended up walking out after a few minutes. This location is the former Jimmy V's Grill & Pub in German Village and was really exited after seeing this and browsing the menu. Last time we tried to eat here it was closed but that was on me for not checking so have been planning a return. We found easy street parking and went inside. Sign said seat yourself so after a couple mins we asked a server if we could sit up front and she said yes. There was No greeting when we walked in or any other conversation. This was at 6:30pm and after sitting in the front window for a few more minutes without a hello or any kind of "I'll be right with you" or acknowledgement I asked my partner if he just wanted to leave. There were about five people drinking at the bar but no other customers. Just wasn't inviting and thought why spend our money here if this is how dinner is going to go and if this is the experience we are going to have. So we left without so much a drink, a greeting, or a menu or goodbye. Maybe it was just that one person working but a lot of room here for improvement. I so every rarely give a one star but honestly can't justify anything higher. Doubt I will give it another shot based on first impressions.

Wandered in for dinner tonight and tried Double Take for the first time with my partner. We were literally walking up High Street visiting and this looked like a cool spot. I have to admit that I was taken aback a little by having my ID scanned and being patted down by security to enter a restaurant to eat dinner but we didn't let that deter us. Just made us question a bit. But it was all good as their security officer was very friendly. We sat at the bar and were greeted quickly by a nice bartender/server and were pleasantly surprised by the full bar and great draft beer selection. So of course I had a yummy IPA. As for the food, it was pretty great! We started with 10 Boneless wings. First off, they were huge! After cutting each in 2 we pretty much had 20 wings. 5 were the Armenian sauce which was basically a hot wing sauce with blue cheese melted into it. Truly delicious!! The other 5 were Grippo dry rub. Yes, the same seasoning as the Grippo potato chips and they were also delicious! All the "wings" were incredibly juicy, tender breast meat and I'd come back just for them! We shared the Chicken Philly sandwich with fries and again we were delighted by how delicious this sandwich was. We were a little disappointed as we really wanted Cheesesteak but they were apparently out tonight. But, the Chicken was awesome. Cooked nicely on the flat top with onions and bell peppers with cheese melted all between a fluffy baguette. Finally, I really didn't care for the automatic 18% gratuity added to the bill, not because I didn't want to tip but more so because I'm normally a better tipper. I feel like the servers are missing out by doing this as many people tip more than 18%. Overall, I would definitely recommend the Double Take and I'm looking forward to visiting again.

The #Wife and I took my Mother-in-Law out for casual #dinner last week to @doubletakebarandgrill . It was Wednesday a little after work, but they weren't very busy at all. Since Momma doesn't hear great we sat at a table away from the bar. Everyone else was at the bar. They have plenty of TV's, I'd like to come back for a game. I had the #blackened #salmon #pasta. Gotta say, it was some of the best #alfredo I've had out! It was seasoning the way we make it at home. Needed nothing extra. The salmon was juicy and delicious. Our servers were nice, but not very attentive this night. Probably lost out on a couple more drink sales. A heads UP!! They automatically add a gratuity regardless of party size.

Really slow and rude service. They have security now and cops out front. Pretty sketchy place for the area. Unfortunate.

It was the perfect spot for a relaxed, drawn-out dinner where we could enjoy drinks, take our time, and really soak it all in. We had a reservation and were seated right away, which set the tone for the night. Everyone ordered cocktails (I've heard the espresso martini is one of their best, even though coffee isn't really my thing), and honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on the drink menu. We started with the Meze, which included house-made falafel, tzatziki, hummus, sun-dried tomato couscous, assorted vegetables, and naan--everything was fresh and so flavorful. They also brought out complimentary focaccia right away, which was such a nice touch. For my main, I ordered the seasonal scallops, and I also tried the chicken thighs with fig, goat cheese, asparagus, parmigiano reggiano, and couscous--both were absolutely amazing. I'd go back in a heartbeat just to try more of the menu. We were there for about 2-3 hours, and at no point did we feel rushed or like we were inconveniencing the staff. The entire experience felt thoughtful, welcoming, and just really special. Highly recommend The Sycamore for your next date night or girls' dinner!

And it's kind of on my way most days, so I did. It's in the Short North so parking can be crazy, even on a weekday afternoon. It is big and airy and open. A pretty good number of options on the menu, plus some sides and snacks, plus build your own, plus some interesting drinks. I went with the steak mezze, which has marinated steak, pickled onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, etc., over jasmine rice. There is an Italian-like dressing to pour on it, which I did, and it comes with a little cup of hummus and a piece of bread if you want. Those were good, not great, but made a nice palate cleanser between bites of the main dish. Which was pretty darn good. The serving size was decent. I thought the steak looked skimpy, but there was enough there to balance all of the other ingredients, and I actually ended up with some steak bits left over at the end after eating all the veggies. I know, shocker. I just had to eat them all then... I also had one of their bottled teas, which was decent, nothing great. For about the same price as Honeygrow, $15 for an entrée, it was much better quality stuff, maybe a little bigger portion, and a bigger, nicer place. Service at both was very good. Counter service, but fast and friendly and professional. There's another Sweet Green opening, in Dublin, next week. Of the two chains, it is definitely my choice, and there are other things on the menu that I want to try. I hesitate to give it five stars because, I mean, it's fast casual, thrown in a bowl. But say 4 1/2. It was darn good, it was decently priced for the quality and quality, and the whole experience was good. I'm sure I will be back.

We started with a Hot Apple Cider, topped with maple-infused whipped cream and cinnamon, along with a couple of hot coffees. The cider was warm, comforting, and full of cozy fall flavors. Unfortunately, the self-serve coffee station wasn't kept stocked, and after waiting quite a while for a refill, we eventually gave up. For breakfast, we ordered two Mushroom Frittatas, a Fresh Buttermilk Biscuit, and a side of Housemade Breakfast Sausage. The Mushroom Frittata featured three hearth-baked eggs with roasted mushrooms, sweet onions, and Gruyère cheese, served alongside breakfast potatoes and a peppery arugula salad. It was flavorful, hearty, and incredibly satisfying. Although I informed the staff about my peanut allergy, I was surprised to find the crispy breakfast potatoes on my plate, which left me uncertain whether the allergy request had been fully communicated to the kitchen. The Fresh Buttermilk Biscuit, served with strawberry preserves, was one of the highlights of the meal. It was flaky, buttery, and wonderfully moist, pairing perfectly with the sweet preserves. The Housemade Breakfast Sausage consisted of two peppery pork patties that were juicy and well-seasoned, making a great accompaniment to the rest of the meal. Overall, we enjoyed a delicious and filling breakfast with fresh, high-quality ingredients. While I wish the coffee station had been monitored more closely and that greater care had been taken regarding my food allergy, the Mushroom Frittata and fresh biscuit alone make Northstar Café worth returning to.

Formal Complaint: Unprofessional Management and Order Fulfillment at OSU Campus Location…read more To the Executive Team at Roots Natural Kitchen, I am writing to formally express my profound disappointment regarding a recent experience at your Ohio State University campus location on Father's Day. The lack of customer care, patience, and professionalism I encountered from the Manager on Duty was entirely unacceptable, and doesn't deserve even a half star, but I had to choose one. On Father's Day, my family ordered five bowls, two of which were seasonal bowls made with the original ingredients with the exception of extra lime. One of these bowls was specifically meant for my husband, who is currently in the hospital. I had raved to him about your restaurant, as it was one of the few healthy options he could safely enjoy during his stay. Unfortunately, the meal was prepared with a blatant lack of care. Even after it was made clear that this was a special meal for him, his portion size was equivalent to a half-bowl, and it was entirely missing the onions and tomatoes. Seeking to resolve the issue, I called the restaurant and was placed on hold. When the phone was picked up, the staff member did not offer a greeting, a name, or any indication of who was speaking. I politely stated, "Hi, I was holding for the manager," to which she abruptly replied, "This is." When I asked for her name, her response was unclear and unkind. Despite maintaining a calm and respectful tone while explaining that my husband's hospital meal for Father's Day had been made incorrectly, the manager was immediately combative and argumentative for absolutely no reason. Instead of offering a basic level of customer service or empathy, I was met with disrespect. Your company's mission proudly states: *"We strive to empower people through radical accessibility to natural food."* Unfortunately, the radical lack of care and professionalism I experienced completely contradicts that standard. Because of this deeply disappointing experience, I will no longer be a patron of your establishment. Furthermore, I will not be recommending Roots Natural Kitchen to anyone moving forward, including for any future corporate or community events I coordinate. I hope you address this leadership and service failure with your OSU campus team so that no other customer is treated this way in the future. Sincerely, Latisha Roland
