Stopped by Dough Boy Donuts on my way to work for a few Donuts. They are conveniently located just off imperial highway on my way to LAX. Ordered a Boston cream and apple fritter. The apple fritter was sort of meh. Not bad but not really note worthy either. The Boston cream was better but still not great. The 2 ladies working were peppy and cheerful, especially considering that it was 5:15 AM. Prices are average, Ordered from the counter, paid at the register, and out the door in less than 2 minutes. read more

Randomly grabbed these for my husband/sister's birthday and so glad I did! They have a lot of different flavors to try and I really like the variety in texture (there are more cakey ones and more doughy ones). The employees were so sweet and gave me an extra one to try one of their more popular flavors. My favorite personally was actually the orange one but I liked all of them overall :) read more

I found myself in the neighborhood and wanting a sweet treat. Dough Boys was closest and I love a good donut so I thought I'd check it out. Upon arriving it did not look like your quintessential donut shop but I didn't let that deter me. I ordered a cinnamon donut and was surprised to be charged $3 after checking out the menu online. Since the one I ordered was a larger one I assumed I must have misread the menu. After already heading home I checked again to not see any donut for more than $1.50. After tasting the donut I was even more upset. Tasted more like plastic wrapping than a donut. But ultimately I was more upset about getting charged double for this inedible item. It's not often I post negative reviews but bad food plus getting conned feels like I ought to let the people know read more

Family friendly service at this popular shop near LAX. They have a few tables inside if you decide on relaxing and enjoying your sweet treats while you sip some coffee. This time around I ordered the ham & cheese croissant with added jalapenos which was pretty good. This is also Lotto central for many customers. read more

The shop is small but cute! It could use a paint job I guess, but when you're dealing with fried food you kinda want a shop that's a little weathered, cause like, if a shop is spotless, it means they're not very busy. There's never really a line here, and when there is, theres never a long wait. The parking situation is kinda weird to be honest, but everyone who comes here is in and out within a few minutes. So how are the donuts? Oh buddy, simple the best glazed donut I've had in a few years. Big, fluffy, not doughy, not over cooked, simply just a mouth melter. I'm not sure who said donuts are empty calories but ignore that: you get a real solid satisfaction from every donut here. Something they advertise that isn't mentioned enough on Yelp or Google is the Giant Donut! You need to place the order one or two days in advance, but you get to choose your icing and toppings. It's really cheap for what it is (just $15.50 as of 2024), and it's just oh so delicious. I got one for my birthday yesterday and I've just about devoured it. It's not as poofy as a regular yeast risen donut, but it's every bit as delicious. Anyway if you're alone and need a snack: come in, get a half dozen glazed, go home, and go nuts. read more

I stopped in bought an apple fritter and a coffee. It was the best apple fritter I have had. Crispy edges and lumps of apples with glaze all over. Definitely my new donut shop. Don't expect fancy designed donuts these are classic soft and just enough sweetness. This is a small family run business and they are so sweet. I'm not a (dough)nut lover by any means, but I do love a real pasty or a really good cruller. Dough Boy Donuts has at least one that I enjoy now and then. The cruller. Crullers are difficult to find in the South Bay. Even more difficult is finding a good one. Again, DBD has pretty good crullers. A bit too much frosting, but I just pick some of is off. Wish they had plain (no frosting) ones though. You are always welcomed as you enter the store and thanked as you pay and leave. Each server are very sweet and welcoming. You leave feeling like they really appreciated you visiting their store. It's not a big store, so I have never stayed long enough to experience the Ambiance. Although it feels like a great place to hang around and enjoy the regulars. I drive about 30 minutes to pickup a few crullers. Take them to the near by El Porto beach, after stopping at the service station near the beach for a cup of coffee. DBD's coffee isn't bad. Just not to my liking. Actually, neither is the gas station's coffee. But, it is just a little better, with more things available to add to my coffee. read more

4.5 stars upbumped for some fine traditional doughnuts. My wife and I stopped by on our bike ride and we were most impressed. The original glazed was massive and fluffy with the perfect amount of sweetness in the glaze...right on par with Randy's and differentiated just by a bit less chew. The Boston creme covered in powdered sugar was just as delectable with a softly sweet filling far more balanced than most competitors. At just $1 each, the value is immense as well. read more

Best damn donut shop on earth. Nowhere else in the world will you find Fryman, Slick Rick, Killer, and Scream Boy enjoying a warm donut and a refreshing ice cream donut shake on a Saturday night. This place not only has the most epic cast of characters that belong to its congregation but its original leader Bruce is an all time classic Donut master. This family is lovely. They are always so happy to see you and remember everyone's name. Anna can me smile anytime I see her. Now that that's out of the way, have a donut or 2. I hadn't had a donut in about 3 years and came here to get some donuts for some family that was in town. HOLY MOLY these donuts are soooooo good. When I was younger I like Chocolate Frosted Glazed and Dough Boy's are awesome. I hated cake donuts as a kid...they were always too dry and had a kind of crust on them. Dough Boy's Cake Donuts are absolutely amazing.....so moist and fresh....always. I think we've tried just about every donut they offer and they were all quality. I was eating donuts a few times a decade and since this summer we go here once a week! Seriously. Bruce is awesome....consistently friendly and welcoming. There are also a couple other people that work there that are very sweet and helpful. We won $30 on a $5 Scratcher from there....Woooooo!! read more

I went to this donut shop recently, as I was on the way to Manhattan Beach. I went in and I thought it was a small clean shop. I realized there were some flies on the donuts so I didn't want any. I talk to the guy at the cash register he was a bit rude so the service was lacking and the food wasn't very well. I picked a strawberry and banana smoothie. When I got into the car and took a sip out of the smoothie there were chunks of ice and powder left in the drink, it wasn't fully blended. It was disappointing. read more

The service is good very friendly and very nice as far as the donuts are concerned I don't eat donuts but I did go and pick some up for people who do and they said that the donuts were very soft and delicious. Yes, their title does lead one to the shop for their awesome donuts but, for my French pastry loving heart, it's the croissants that bring me back again and again. Both plain AND stuffed croissants are located at this shop, with plain being my go-to favorite. The crescent-shaped, golden-brown pastry has so many delicate layers of bread and butter that I find myself licking my fingers as to not miss a single crumb. They open at 5am which allows me to pick up goodies while they are still warm on my way to run around town. The cost is also lower than several other local spots, making this a double win in my opinion. Staff is kind and dedicated to making your visit an enjoyable one. Greeting customers with a friendly smile seems to always be on the menu! Ambiance is that of a mom & pop bakery which makes me feel welcome at any point in the day. Handicap parking is located just outside the front door, but with a smaller, more limited parking lot. The front door is left open most mornings, allowing for morning bakery smells & aromas to waft through the air. This also helps those who may have trouble opening a heavy door.
