Hands down better than in&out. Everything we ordered was amazing! Their burgers were good!! Cooked to perfection. Sauce, addicting with their fries!!!! I honestly love the fries on their own too. The dough bites were filled with chocolate / nutella? I wouldn't mind if they didn't have filling and just the powdered sugar on top. The price was good. Order at kiosk and they announce your order through the speakers which is great so you really know when it's ready They have seating both indoor and outdoor Parking in a shared plaza Place was bright and clean. Would go again and would love to try their milkshakes next time.
I watched a YouTube video on this place and it looked so good that I had to put it on the top of my list. Walking in my eyes immediately started darting around.... They had really cool merch under glass, a big screen flashing cool pictures "see video", really cool signage, and overall it kind of had a 50's burger joint vibe but with a cool modern twist. They have a kiosk that you can order with, but I decided to order at the counter. The girl that helped us out was super nice too. We ordered a triple cheeseburger add grilled onion, 3 double cheeseburgers, 2 fries and 2 shakes. ($54.60!!!) The rundown: Fries are fried in tallow and the taste is amazing! "My one complaint is that they skimp on the amount they give you" taste 5 stars/ quantity 2 stars. "Note" I tried a side of their burger sauce with the fries... ummm... no, don't do it, stay away, do not pass go! "It does however, pair really well with the Berger" The burgers: look inexpensive until you put add ons "grilled onions $.75 extra." The burger gets expensive really quick and a triple cheeseburger is about the size of a regular burger. The taste was really good though especially with their house sauce but unfortunately the burger left me hungry. Taste 4 stars/ amount and value 2 stars tops. Milkshakes: Now if you are coming here for the milkshakes then you will be very very happy! The shakes are straight up delicious, home style shakes made to perfection. IMO the price, quality, and taste...5 stars all day long. Notes: Service is slow considering they were not to busy . The bathroom was disgusting! There was water all over the floor and a urinal stuck really bad, that didn't look like it had not been cleaned all day! Remember folks with employees are using this bathroom too and serving us food. 0 stars!
Absolutely one of the best places to grab a cheeseburger! Every time I come here, the burger tastes exactly as good as the last time--it's always fresh, juicy, and packed with flavor. I really appreciate how consistent they are because you know you're going to get a great meal every visit. The restaurant is also spotless and always smells fresh, which makes the whole dining experience even better. If you're craving a delicious cheeseburger, this place never disappoints. Highly recommend!
Super yummy smash burgers, I got the double which I personally think has a better meat to bread ratio compared to a single. The meal is worth it for its cheap price, which could be compared to In N Out. You can order online which makes it super easy and quick to pick up and go. However sometime through online order they have forgotten some items, so make sure to double check before you leave. Overall good and I have been back multiple times!
On our let's drive around and try burgers in San Jose night this past 4th of July. We came out to North 1st St to try this spot out. Although I appreciate technology, when you visit a spot for the first time you want to be able to talk to an employee and maybe get some recommendations, suggestions. There was one employee on the floor, who never acknowledged us or asked to take our order since there was a large group at the tablet putting in their order. We order a regular cheeseburger and fries and went to sit outside to eat our food, the tables outside were dirty, not wiped down at all. The burger it self, was ok. The pictures that are posted on both instagram and on yelp were not what we got, which was disappointing. Maybe it was a flook and maybe will try it again some other time and it will be better.
The service here is so slow. The staff are constantly talking to each other and they stop what they're doing when they talk to each other. Like hello, you're on the clock at work, save the conversations for later when it's not busy. One lady took 15 minutes to make a milkshake because she kept talking to one the her other male coworkers and each time they were talking she would stop scooping the ice cream and place the cup down. Besides the awful service, food was good. Got a double and a triple and the double is the perfect balance with all the ingredients and still being juicy. Triple was just too much meat and not enough add-ons.
I just thought the food was alright. The burger looked good on the outside and it looked like there was a lot of meat but it was front-loaded. There also wasn't that much sauce either, which was disappointing. I also got the fries which were also kind of disappointing. They were crispy but didn't really taste like anything. It had salt and pepper but that was it. The food is good value but it's okay.
I want to give this place another chance because I was unfamiliar with smashed burgers at the time. People were really hyped about this place and so I want to come here again. I was told that it's recommended to eat smashed burgers with at least two patties for a good bun to meat ratio. When I first came here, I ordered it with a single patty and now I see why I tasted too much from the bun than the meat. In my second visit, I do see not just the taste and quality of the food got better but also its representation. I do like how they wrap around burgers like that. The food papers display their logo, which is quite of an improvement. I mean it may have took them months to make it look like this. The fries taste better too probably because they improved their ways of seasoning them. My only issue is that just like my first visit from several months ago it's still hot inside probably they either didn't have AC installed yet or like a huge fan that some restaurants use. Hopefully they can do something about it in the future. However, it's not the point that I want to do a takeout because I live in Fremont and it takes about 20 minutes to get back home especially with all the traffic going on. Anyways, I heard that they're going to open multiple locations including Milpitas, which is closest to my home, in the future and that I'm looking forward to visiting there.
It's a saddens me a bit to write this review. Here's why. I've actually had their burger sometimes back last year in a door dash delivery. It was quite late and this was one of the few places open when I wanted a non-franchise burger. I was blown away by it then. Crispy, charred, but full of beef flavor. I've always wanted to dine in since then and finally had a chance. It wasn't what it used to be. The burger was good, but not as I remembered. No crispy, beefy, caramelly maillard reaction I remembered was no where to be found. What distincts smash burger from a burger. It tasted more like a patty that was just pressed flat and cooked like a plain old burger. The Fries was carrying the whole experience. Nice, crispy, I think cooked in tallow. Full on flavor not just potato flavor. The experience I gotta say was subpar too. It wasn't too crowded, yet, it took me like 30 minutes to get the food. It was sparsely seated when I entered but a sizable crowd was forming by the time I got food, people waiting and frustrated for the food to come out. I ate inside but the service though wasn't rude, didn't seem as professional where it seemed like a high school kids's part time work though half the staff seemed much older than that. I gotta say if it wasn't for the fries, I might've given it a 2 stars. I really hope they'll be able to come back to the quality I've enjoyed before. Maybe I was just unlucky on the day.
We got to try their single patty and double patty & saucy fries. I love that you can watch them make your burger at the window. They definitely use fresh ingredients in their burgers and their sauce really elevates the burger. The fries were great by itself but even better with their sauce. It gives me thousand island vibes~ They were pretty busy when we went which was at 5:30pm, despite that we didn't have to wait to long for our food! They have an outdoor and indoor seating which is nice. Their interior is cool, love how the floor and walls are plaster with red/white colors. Def a vibe
We are talking about the best smash burger in San Jose imo right now . The food has been extraordinary for now over a years worth of visits and consistent enough to me for I to rave about it . I always go double smash with the default toppings set for it . The smash fries are really something tho. Hot and well salted fries crispy loaded with cheese , their burger sauce , and pickles / meat patty. Really something else . I Will continue to be a frequenter here lol . Tip : ordering from kiosks there are very straight forward and easy.the associates and staff are very sweet and there is a bathroom that is tidy and well Maintained, just ask for code !
First time here and came on a tuesday afternoon and it was pretty busy around 4 o'clock. I wasn't impressed with their service. I did have to clean my own table from outside which looked like it hasnt been cleaned for days and wait time was over 30mins. As for the food, I got the triple burger and everything on it and it was good.
It was my second time here. The sauce that they use is so addicting. Fast and higher quality burgers than your usual fast food joint. If I'm craving a burger, I may gravitate towards to Dough Burgers if I didn't want to wait in the In N Out line. The first bite of the smash burger really hit the spot. Although this place doesn't have the tomatoes and lettuce, it does have pickles!! Menu is so simple but sometimes simple is best. Better for consistency. I ordered the triple and I can't believe it is $6.99/ea. a double is $5.99/ea. Wow for the price it's definitely a filling and satisfying meal. Fries were just ok. I liked their milkshakes. After the Levi's Stadium game, I stopped at Dough Burger because they were open late. The place was packed, but the line moved quickly. The staff kept things organized and the space was clean. I ordered a triple burger. The bun, the patty, the seasoning, everything worked. The fries were crispy and fresh. And the price is right. The price is right. The price is right. Dough Burger has become widely popular Smash burger Joint on social Media for a while. From the video and pictures; it definitely looked appealing. But, I was a bit apprehensive;as I feel places that have heavy influencer presence aren't really good recommendations a lot of times. However, this place caught me by surprise. I was debating on having the pizza spot next door, but decided to finally try Dough Burger out instead. Everytime I pass by this place is packed; it's nice it stays open until 3AM. So it's nice to have other burger joint open instead of jack In The Box lol I placed an online order everything here is A La Carte but you can make your meal a combo. What's great about this place is the prices are affordable. I decided to get single smash burger and make it a meal that comes with drink. Single smash burger: 5/5 Very good smash burger and everything is made to order here. The patty was flavorful and not paper thin like some smash burger joints make them. The burger itself only comes with pickle, cheese, onions, and their special sauce. Any add ons come at additional cost. Although, mine didn't have any onions on it. I decided to add lettuce, tomato, and there Halal Bacon to mine. The burger itself was on the smaller side. In pics these burgers look huge but they're not. Since I got the combo it came with side of regular fries that were good and nicely slated, and I had fountain drink. The total for the single Smash Burger Combo came out to 14 bucks even which is better then these fast food prices and below average quality lol Overall, this is a Great Spot if you're looking for a good burger in the area. Especially, if you're looking for food late night. I would definitely recommend this place. read more
UPDATE: FOR STOREFRONT This place is still one of the best cheapest late night burger spots in the bay area. With their store near SJO airport, I would say this place got better in speed. Merchandise to buy now by the door. Saw it going for $20 for hats. Quality of the food here is still the same and the sauce is good. Everything is hot, and accurate order. Same burgers and fries from their food truck days. They just added a soda machine now. They have plenty of seating inside and available outdoor seating. They play modern music here. The theme all the way to the seating is red and white. Very 49ers fans friendly. I recommend coming here. Easy late night bites after gambling. Always coming back. read more

Ordered via kiosk for TO-GO. Simple menu, reminds me of in & out. I ordered with sauce on side & got 2 containers which was nice so I can dip fries in it. The sauce is standard Mayo, pickle juice. Got the single & fries for less than $10. Patty is a big small & a burger bun, nothing fancy. Price is good for the value. I'll come back to dine-in with sauce slathered on and a double patty. read more

Was feeling burger today and Dough Burger was close to work. Make sure get there early or you won't find parking. We went for the single cheese burger with pickle, lettuce tomato and chop chili. You can also add lettuce tomato and chop . And for fee bacon. Did I mention this is hala. We went for two single cheeseburgers with tomato lettuce and chili. It the new thing is smash burgers so this what it is. I should have made it a double as it was cheap enough as the burger are smash flat. We also shared a small fries which are shoestring size it was more than enough for two people.. overall ok for the price and would go back when having the crazing read more

It's pretty good. The service was alright we had to wait a little bit to get our food. The fries portion was quite lacking for the combo too compared to ordering on the side. The burger was pretty solid though. It definitely has that classic burger joint place feel to it too. read more

spend your dough at dough burger, you won't regret it!! you won't be able to find delicious, smash burgers for this amazing price in the bay. It's also halal which is a plus, it just felt so clean eating this burger. Add banana peppers in your burger and get sauce on the side, that's the way to go The sauce was soooo good, if you're afraid of it being messy, get it on the side! Fries were also perfectly crispy and seasoned. I think the perfect medium is getting the double pattie, the meat is not as thick since it's smashed because I absolutely inhaled my single burger wishing I got the double. I got fries and 2 burgers for less than $20! I must say... better than in-n-out! you can also order online to skip the line read more

I love the food most days. The service is a coin toss. Most recently one of my burgers was raw in the middle. It just so happened that this was the burger for our child. They seemed very short staffed today and maybe that's why, but this is unacceptable. Make people wait so the food can be made that is SAFE for customers. read more
Dough Burgers has bomb burgers, a simple menu, and amazing customer service! My husband just finished a marathon, and I wanted to treat him to a spot he's been wanting to try. This place did not disappoint. The inside was super cute with red décor, and everything was extremely clean--including the bathrooms, which I always appreciate. The only downside: after using the restroom, I noticed the hand soap dispenser was completely missing. Soap is a must--please get that replaced ASAP. Other than that, the burgers were juicy and full of flavor, service was fast, and there was plenty of dine-in space. We'll definitely be back! read more

Really good smash burger! Soft bun, 3 patties, cheese, sauce, and pickles! Wish they had some lettuce and tomatoes but the burger was good for what it was! Smash fries: fries with patty, cheese, sauce and pickles! Order took about 10 minutes to come out during a pretty decent rush so it was faster than I thought! It's a small restaurant with not much seating but still tasted delicious when taken home. Will definitely be back read more

Dare I say better than In N Out. Our go to spot for a late night burger craving. The burgers are simple and delicious. A short and to the point menu with options for single, double, and triple burgers and fries with or without sauce. And if you're feeling like indulging, they have some pretty tasty and thick milkshakes. Thrilled to see this once food truck off the highway open a brick and mortar location. read more

Great spot for a quick bite! The burgers are super delicious, even though it's definitely one of those meals you might regret right after because it's so heavy. Tucked in the corner burger joint. Parking space is limited close to the light rail station and Bay 101. Pretty small inside and there is some outside seating as well. Our service was good we waited a bit for our food. Burgers were good nothing really exciting to me I was hoping for more creativity and an amazing taste. Another great burger spot! Service was great! We got the double and single burger. Great spot for a food truck location. Been trying a lot of smash burger spots in the bay and I compare this to "Campus burgers" in DT SJ and I must say Campus burgers is better. Reason is the burger we got that night was dry and not juicy compared to campus burgers and fries were decent. That is why I give it 3/5 besides that service was great and food is good but I've had better but def. Try for yourself as it might be my taste buds is bias but Campus burgers is more my taste. I was craving a burger and been meaning to try this place out since it is not too far from my place. There is a parking lot and parking is limited, but people are constantly going in and out since people do come by to either eat there food there or take-out. Menu is very simple and very affordable! My boyfriend and I ordered: - 1 double double with added chopped chilis (which they forgot, so I knocked down one star) - 1 double double with added bacon and fries - 1 strawberry milkshake All of the food was DELICIOUS! The strawberry shake tasted like a strawberry nesquick, so very nostalgic and tasty. The fries were well seasoned and fried well! The burgers were also very good and flavorful. I was just a bit bummed that I paid for the chopped chilis and it wasn't in my burger. Aside from that one mistake, the food and service was good. read more
