Delicious lunch! We started with drinks I had the Mediterranean Mule! Yum! Perfection the drinks are so good here! This is the second time I've had the zucchini crisps. So good! Love the spicy dip on the side it's just the right spice. We also had the Shroom pizza. Soooo good but two things I would recommend let the pizza settle a bit when served. Ours was so hot when my friend took a slice some of the topping slid off just because it was so hot. Literally we waited a minute or two and it was perfect also I would ask for a little extra truffle oil omg it's just sooo good! They also decorate so nice for the changing seasons. Very friendly service. Nice greeting and everyone asked how my meal was and a hello at every turn. I felt like I was in Utah. I started with the b/c wedge salad. It was very good but not cold. It tasted like it was sitting out for 30 minutes. Wedge salad should be COLD! I liked the MAGNIFYI Pilsner, nice chilled glass. The sausage pizza was very tasty, in-house made sausage. Not enough stars for this place! A wonderful experience from the time you call for a reservation till the end of your meal! I called on a Saturday afternoon and got Shannon on the phone. She was helpful and suggested we make a reservation, even though we planned on dining early at 4:30. I am very glad that we took her advice because about 15 minutes into our meal a ton of people began to pour in.. The service is amazing always someone checking on you. The young men that were sweeping made sure to not leave one crumb on the floor. And always were there with fresh plates and napkins. The food was incredible. We had the seasonal salad, mussels with craft beer and pizza. We also ordered bread (which I don't think they should charge for when you order mussels but they charged an extra dollar. I did think that was tacky) the pizza is small we definitely could have eaten two. They have some great craft beer choices as well. We will definitely return ! This is more of a 3.75 review. Came to Dough for a work lunch. It's a huge restaurant with a bar and good food. They play music but luckily they don't blast music like a lot of other restaurants have We ordered the fried zucchini and risotto balls. Both were absolutely delicious but I definitely prefer the fried zucchini more because it's kind of like a chip! We ordered a bunch of pizzas that were brick oven style. The pizza is more like a personal pan size and I would order at least 2 pizzas if you're a part of 2 because the slices are tinier than expected. The only thing is that because the slices are so thin, they're a little flimsy and get a little wet as the pizza cools down. Other than that, the slices have good flavors. Sat at the bar for a few cocktails, and small bites. Had the tuna tartar and a Steak Sandwich, both were very good. The bartender was making fresh syrups in between helping customers, it was nice to see a restaurant using fresh, house made ingredients in their offerings. I LOVE THIS PLACE! My husband and I love pizza and good drinks and Dough has both! I was pleasantly surprised to see they offer vegan cheese - one they purchase from Numu (local company and the best) and the other is a cashew cream that they make in house. The drinks are so good too. They even have vegan "baileys" as an option for their take on espresso martinis.never had one until I tried theirs. It is not normal for Northern NJ restaurants to have any or multiple vegan options. I truly love that they are willing to go above and beyond. read more

I always enjoy a good wood fired pizza from Dough. I am a fan of their margherita pizza. The pizza comes out tasting warm and fresh. For starters, their zucchini crisps are worth munching on, especially dipped in their smoked chili pepper sauce. The waiters are attentive and friendly. There are many seats available inside, but it can get busy so make sure to reserve ahead of time to avoid long wait times. After all, no one likes to be hangry over pizza. Went here for lunch and it was pretty good! The lunch special is a salad or soup and a personal 9" pizza. Pretty good deal. The salad is pretty large. Dough Artisan Pizza was good... but I wasn't wowed; although my spouse really liked it. We ordered the margarita pizza and wings. I wasn't a big fan of the wings as I thought they were overpriced for what you got, but the pizza was tasty. On a slower Sunday we decided to finally try Dough. Nice casual clean environment with a friendly and prompt greeting from the hostess welcomed us. We opted for a high-top table near the bar. A fellow was strumming and singing the expected coffee house tunes. Although Dough was no at it's height patron-wise when we were seated, I can see how when crowded near the bar, the noise level could be amped up. But let's talk about the food. Salad was fresh, crisp, and properly prepared. Make sure you get one! white ricotta pizza came piping hot, well baked crisp crust, and totally enjoyable. I'm writing this review because I truly want this business to last - I've been here numerous times since it's opened and it's been my favorite Neapolitan style pizza in the area - Not to mention the service is also consistently pleasant! I went there for lunch today and was quite disappointed in the quality of dough that was used for our pizzas. Normally this restaurant serves beautiful, soft, airy crust. Today it was very flat, seemingly well done, crispy. The flavor of the actual toppings was still phenomenal (don't get me wrong), but overall it reminded me of a bar pie. The pizza was overpriced and just not great, I was expecting much more given its prominence on the menu. Dining out needn't be a political event- decorating with the Declaration of Independence and hawking politically themed merch at the front door was tacky. Maybe okay for a holiday but not a random Saturday. With a well appointed, highly trained and helpful staff, great location and otherwise seemingly well run business, adding a 3% credit card charge to my bill signals management that doesn't care about customers. You have the ability to wrap that ~$3 into all of your other price items. For the number of items purchased on my table, the pennies per item would have gone unnoticed as a part of the price (especially for a $20+ personal pizza). The management calling out that they need me to explicitly cover their credit card processing is a signal that they don't know how to run a business. And the "everyone is doing it now" is no excuse. I came here for dinner on a Wednesday and it was actually quite busy. Their decor and ambiance were cute and rustic with a theme around history. The margarita I got was tasty, and I asked for less spice, and they made it perfectly. The mussels were good but felt like they were lacking a bit of flavor. Maybe it needed more salt. The pizza was probably the best thing we got there. It was flavorful, but either it was undercooked or there was just too much sauce. The pizza was soggy and was falling apart. Kudos for flavor but definitely not texture and consistency. Maybe next time I'll ask them to cook it a bit more. read more

We were in the area to take care of our grandchildren for the week. We had passed this location a few times over the years and never went in when it was under prior ownership. Our daughter was making suggestions on places to eat in the area and had said this place was great so we gave Dough a try! I'm so glad we did. We walked in and we were immediately greeted and taken to our table. The place gives off a warm vibe. The waitress was smiling and very friendly and immediately asked for our drink orders. Their beers are not on the menu but you can click a QR code or even better just ask your waitress, she was eager to help find the perfect beer. After receiving our drinks we placed our orders. The menu has a nice variety of items. At first I was leaning towards a tuna tar tar or burrata app, but ended up ordering their salad special of the day. My husband ordered the flamed broiled chicken sandwich with fresh mozzarella and grilled tomatoes on top served with a fresh pesto and a side of fries ($4). We didn't wait too long for our dishes, my salad was delicious although I had asked for the dressing on the side, thank goodness it wasn't overly dressed. It was a delicious mix of goat cheese , candied pecans, blackberries, sliced cucumbers, red onions and mixed greens, a generous portion size. My husband's sandwich was really huge! I mean really huge. On;y issue was the largely crusted bread was just too thick it was very difficult to bite into, he had to make it more of an open face sandwich. He said the bread would be a delicious accompaniment to a dinner but in a sandwich it should be sliced to about 1/2 or 3/4 of what is had been. Again, it's impressive but should be fixed to fit an average mouth bite, A couple of things stuck out to me that made it even more special, one was how the water is served... it comes in a glass bottle and they also brought over a cocktail shaker with ice and a long spoon to add ice as needed. The ice didn't melt and kept the water customized to their liking. So smart, hopefully that wasn't a one time thing because I asked for ice water, lol. The other thing was that they had those sponge tiles for the ceiling to muffle the noise level in the room. But It wasn't crowded that day, so not sure if they work well in that restaurant, but as a hearing Impaired person I REALLY APPRECIATE the effort! My friend and I decided to check out this new spot for dinner that she had had lunch at previously the week before. Nice big restaurant, nice vibes, very lively. We were greeted and seated fairly quickly with reservations. We decided to order a few things, zucchini chips, sausage pizza, spaghetti & meatballs and salad. We also got unsweetened iced tea for drinks, anyone who knows me, knows I love a freshly brewed iced tea so I was thrilled they had it. Zucchini chips - these came out so fast, so good! They were highly recommended on Yelp so we had to order them.They were light, not overly salted and not greasy and the sauce that it came with was really good as well. Sausage pizza - The sausage on there was really good. I would have preferred the crust be a little bit crispier. It was a little saggy on the ends, but overall yummy. Spaghetti - If you are looking for authentic spaghetti and meatballs this is not the place to get it, the sauce definitely tasted a bit canned/jarred. However not bad by any means, but we live in NJ you can get way better spaghetti at 100 other places Salad - so we ordered what I thought was their house salad but pretty sure that's not what we got. Our salad said mixed greens and this salad came with sliced cabbage and kale. There's only like 3 dressing options and we went with the citrus vinegarette, which didn't have much flavor tbh. I should have said something to the waitress but honestly I didn't see her again till the very end of our meal. When the bill came my friend and I were shocked, we had gotten our unsweetened iced teas refilled and they charged us for it! It was $4 a cup! To be fair I am not sure if that was on the menu because I didn't even see drinks on the menu, but what the heck. Who charges for refills on unsweetened iced tea!? Service was ok, our waitress rushed us to order, too 20 minutes for the drinks to be brought to us and after she brought the food she never came back to see if we needed anything else. Ordered five Napolean pies for the family. Meatball pie was first gone. Incredibly well balanced toppings, sauce, cheese, and great crust. Sausage pie was good too but its ground sausage where i typically prefer slices. Margherita totally on point with smooth fresh mozzarella and great fresh basil. I saved the best for last .... The food is good and gets a 4 Stars. The service/experience at the bar gets 2 stars. We arrived at 6pm and sat on the left side of the bar which was empty. No one gave us menus or checked in on us. A couple came over and sat to our left side of the bar, and a bartender, tall blonde came over spoke to them with her back towards us, asked them what they wanted and then walked away. No acknowledgement. She then went back to the opposite end and proceeded to make other people drinks. The couple were clearly regulars and she clearly had no interest serving us, you know basically her job. Not a "hi be right with you", no menues dropped etc. My husband now furious with the blatant lack of service and now staring and standing, we get another server who comes over and says "Where did you guys pop up from", and drops menues down. Maybe we weren't white enough and the black bartender needed to serve us. I will say once at the table, we had Valentina who was great. Not sure I'm going back to sit at the bar here and if only show up if my friends are insisting. We had a pizza mushroom special and the salad which was great. I really liked this place when it was a cozy little spot on Bloomfield Avenue. The new location in Fairfield is nice looking, but less inviting feel. In the past I haven't had good experiences with their dessert, so I haven't tried it in a long time. The pizzas are good, however the last one I tried last summer was mushroom something or another and I remember it being a bit bland and asking for flaky salt on the side. My partner, our friends and I were first-timers tonight to Dough Artisan Pizza for a Saturday dinner, with reservations made off of their website. It's a very popular spot with plenty of indoor seating and a spacious patio. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the amazing mural work at the entrance. A friendly host confirmed our presence, and we had to wait about 20 minutes as the place was packed. The menu is updated frequently, as they just switched over to fall. About 85 percent of the ingredients used here are from local purveyors, and the majority are organic. For starters, we decided on house-marinated mixed olives with sourdough bread, and zucchini chips. As an entree, we opted for Pumpkin Ravioli, Mac and Cheese, Black Angus Hanger Steak, and Heritage All-Natural Chicken. We even had room for the desserts and ordered the carrot cake with chocolate sauce and coconut cake. The zucchini chips were the star of this show, as they were light, crispy, and not greasy. The food was okay; the pumpkin ravioli was bland, and the dessert was a flop. The atmosphere was nice but loud and manageable, and the price was reasonable. During dinner, we were visited by management to ask if everything was on point. Every single person that worked there was professional and extremely friendly. First of all, I love how Dough prides itself on using fresh and locally sourced ingredients. They are clearly passionate about food and what they serve to the community. Love that! This place is small and cute so I would recommend a reservation, especially on the weekend! I ordered a margarita pizza and zucchini chips for takeout. The restaurant has a nice vibe to it from what I saw when going to pick up the food. The order did not take long, however I wish that yelped gave me a better estimate of when it would be ready because my pizza was cold. Regardless, the pizza was very good still.
