The only thing that I did not like was the icing's texture on the Thai tea and matcha donuts. It made the donuts difficult to eat, and I could not get the full flavor effect from it. Since it's been super cold into the night this particular Winter/2024 Season, I seemed to crave some junk food.... I Yelped my way here to 'Doughnut Hut,' Burbank, CA., as my last stop of today's trip on 02/10/24. Since it was my first time visiting this DonutShop, I wasn't sure which flavors to choose from. When I decided to ask the cashier which flavors to try, he was patient and explained to me their lost popular favors: I bought~Original, glazed and blueberry on top of a medium sized house coffee to go. I realized a bought a cup from 7-11 to go earlier, but that was for my dad. Their glazed donut was indeed super tasty and chewy. I had Yoshinoya late lunch so was already full. Great donut spot! The service was nice and the doughnuts are delicious! The parking lot is small so keep that in mind, and there's not many places to sit and eat the doughnuts if you plan to, it's a great place to grab and go! I have been on the hunt for good donuts ever since moving to LA, so almost cruel that I found Doughnut Hut and it's not even remotely close to where I live. I think I'm going to need to start making a weekly trek out for these though because these donuts were 10/10. The variety of flavors is already amazing, all the classics like maple bars and chocolate sprinkle plus some twists like a pistachio almond raised donuts and a matcha sesame donut. I tried the blueberry old fashioned and the pistachio almond and was delighted by both of them! The cake donuts were fresh, no old oil taste, all super moist. The raised donuts were light and sweet. I stopped by 9:30am on a Saturday and there was a very wide selection of donuts available. They have a small parking lot but it's a grab & go type of place so parking was easy. FYI it's cash only. We got a half dozen donuts and donut holes that came out to ~$16: blueberry old fashioned, glazed yeast, red velvet cake, Boston creme filled, Thai tea yeast, and apple fritter. The blueberry old fashioned was the unanimous standout and favorite - really nice flavor and texture without being overly sweet! I was looking forward to the Thai tea one from the previous reviews but was disappointed in the lack of flavor. If I bit into it without knowing the flavor I wouldn't have guessed it to be Thai tea. The others were fine but not really remarkable. Overall, imo the donuts here are on the more dense side, even the yeast raised ones. I've never seen this flavor of French cruller at any other donut shop before. So, I just had to try it! I was not disappointed. This sweet treat tasted delicious to me. My second choice was their Maple Bacon doughnut. The little bacon bits topping the round Maple donut were fresh and crispy. That savory bacon portion partnered with the sweetness of the glazed Maple donut combined to make a flavorful and yummy concoction of a doughnut! My third selection was their Boston Creme donut.
