I have been on the hunt for good donuts ever since moving to LA, so almost cruel that I found Doughnut Hut and it's not even remotely close to where I live. I think I'm going to need to start making a weekly trek out for these though because these donuts were 10/10. The variety of flavors is already amazing, all the classics like maple bars and chocolate sprinkle plus some twists like a pistachio almond raised donuts and a matcha sesame donut. I tried the blueberry old fashioned and the pistachio almond and was delighted by both of them! The cake donuts were fresh, no old oil taste, all super moist. The raised donuts were light and sweet. I'm seriously hoping they open another location closer to me because 24 hours access to these delicious treats would be a dream! read more

This used to be my favorite donut place, but this morning I stopped for one and the lady was stocking the fridge and didn't change her gloves and grabbed my donut with the same dirty gloves that she was using to stock dusty bottles. I stopped by 9:30am on a Saturday and there was a very wide selection of donuts available. They have a small parking lot but it's a grab & go type of place so parking was easy. FYI it's cash only. We got a half dozen donuts and donut holes that came out to ~$16: blueberry old fashioned, glazed yeast, red velvet cake, Boston creme filled, Thai tea yeast, and apple fritter. The blueberry old fashioned was the unanimous standout and favorite - really nice flavor and texture without being overly sweet! I was looking forward to the Thai tea one from the previous reviews but was disappointed in the lack of flavor. If I bit into it without knowing the flavor I wouldn't have guessed it to be Thai tea. The others were fine but not really remarkable. Overall, imo the donuts here are on the more dense side, even the yeast raised ones. I like that they have a wide variety and I would come back for the blueberry old fashioned. read more

Love the classic look of the Doughnut Hut in Burbank, CA. They are not one of those gourmet, high class looking donut shops. They make so many kinds of classic doughnuts, and they make them well. Top notch quality doughnuts sold at reasonable prices! I bought myself 3 of their donuts. Could not eat them inside their shop because they do not have indoor dining. You order at the window. You choose what you want while looking at their display cases filled with yummy news through the other windows. They do have a few tables outside the shop so you can eat your doughnuts there if you so desire. Ate my sweets inside my car. First one I tried was their Orange French Cruller. I've never seen this flavor of French cruller at any other donut shop before. So, I just had to try it! I was not disappointed. This sweet treat tasted delicious to me. My second choice was their Maple Bacon doughnut. The little bacon bits topping the round Maple donut were fresh and crispy. That savory bacon portion partnered with the sweetness of the glazed Maple donut combined to make a flavorful and yummy concoction of a doughnut! My third selection was their Boston Creme donut. Boston Creme donuts are probably my all-time favorite kind of doughnut. In my humble opinion the Doughnut Hut in Burbank makes one of the best versions I've ever had the pleasure to eat!! For our tastings, we got the... - Blueberry cake - this was the best of the bunch; you can actually taste and see the blueberries; probably one of the best ones I've had so far. - Glazed twist bar - was actually not as fluffy upon first bite but tasted better when nuked; the donut was most likely made earlier during the day. - Sugar twist bar - same as the glazed; better when heated. - Raspberry-filled - surprisingly good; I like the tartness of the raspberries and it had a generous portion of filling inside. Prices were about $1.25 for each and the filled one was $1.50 if I recall. No complaints on service. Plus points for being open 24/7. I ordered some classic doughnuts so I could compare them to other doughnut shops I've been to. They all passed the test. I also ordered a couple that were unique to their shop. One of which was the Blueberry Old Fashioned and that was absolutely my favorite. I love glazed old fashioned doughnuts to begin with and adding the blueberry was a done-deal for me.
