I stopped by this Donut shop last night to get a quick snack. I parked on the street right next to this donut stand since they didn't have any guest here. They also have a small private parking lot here as well. I tooked a look at what they had first on display but didn't see a plain glazed donut so I asked the lady working if she has any. She said she does and I went with just that. They do charge a credit card fee here so if you have cash, I say pay with cash and the donut isn't that expensive. I ate my glazed donut outside, they have some seats and table for you to sit down and eat your donut there if you want to. I love this small mom & pop donut shop! I couldn't remember if I had been here before and it had just been so long ago so I decided to stop by as I wanted to bring some donuts to work. I walked up to the window and gave a warning that I had a big order and (I believe it was the owners) were very nice about it, they even threw in a free Oreo crumble for me which was very kind. I ordered a big assortment of two dozen donuts, donut holes, and some separate donuts that I brought home to my mom. What I have to rave about though is their specialty donuts. I am a sucker for something seasonal or specialty so seeing they had Thai tea & matcha donuts I had to order some and they were as yummy as they sound. I will say their donuts are overall VERY sweet no matter which one you're eating but the Thai tea was perfect and the matcha was more subtle but still delicious. Other specialty donuts they had were a strawberry shortcake, oreo crumble, and my other favorite - maple bacon. I will say this shop was a little pricey but well worth it for the quality of donuts and service you get. I came here with a group of arcade friends a few months back just before Trump was officially announced as the president of the USA, 'officially' and as I recall, this place used to be open 24/7 but according to their Yelp page, that's only true for Monday through Saturday with Sunday being only open for 12 hours a day now. This donut shop is literally a little shack on the side of Magnolia Blvd but it seems to be a popular spot for late night cravings for the locals. I forgot which date we came here but I do remember I had hung out with my group of arcade friends all of Friday night, spilling over to midnight Saturday, and it was 1:00AM-ish when we arrived at the shop. There's a small, little parking lot 'at the back' that could fit maybe 6 cars at any given time. Oddly enough, even at that hour, Saturday 1:00AM, the parking lot was full but there were just a couple of customers waiting in line for their donut fix. Nevertheless, we easily found street parking with no parking restrictions to the best of our knowledge on the small street that runs perpendicular to Magnolia Blvd, just around the corner of the Doughnut Hut. I vaguely recall that a dozen donuts was $24.00 plus tax, so effectively, it was $27.00 rounded up. Not going to lie, that's kind of pricey for a dozen donuts, pre-Trump tariffs. Post Trump tariffs, I'd imagine that the price probably went up, present day. For the dozen donuts, we were allowed to pick out a bunch of different donuts on the glass case immediately to the right of the order window counter. They had simple glazed donuts to the more fancy 'cronuts', bear claws, plain danishes to chocolate-covered danishes plus donuts with all sorts of filling: cream: chocolate, jam, etc. This donut shop definitely had more of a variety of donuts to choose from compared with other similar donut shops in other parts of Los Angeles. Keep in mind, I'm talking about mom and pop shops, not the big box retail chains or regional chains, so if that's your cup of tea, you're in for a real treat. Donuts were definitely fresh. Like fresh, fresh. None of the donuts that we picked out were unusually soggy, soft, and/or rock hard--like they had been sitting on that case for days. They had a certain taste and texture upon first biting into one and not that generic supermarket donut taste either. It is oddly satisfying, from the plain glazed donuts to the more fancy one's. In that regard, I guess I'm getting my money's worth because of the premium quality of their donuts that retain their taste, texture, and consistency. I don't think there were any donuts that I or my friends disliked. Solid donut shop all around on this front. Service. The Hispanic dude at the counter seemed friendly enough and his English was intelligible enough. I think there were a few things that was lost in communication when we were asking for a specific kind of donut when picking out the dozen donuts from the glass case but that's okay. We just pointed to the row and tray where the specific type of donut that we wanted and finger gestured that we want one, two or three of them. That worked out just fine. They do take credits but we paid out cash that night. Enough said. Ambiance. There's not much to it. It's really a grab-and-go type of donut shop. There is no 'inside' seating area but there's two outside, bench / table combos that were hard and cold for that night but it served the purpose of sitting down and munching on our donuts. Neat Fact, on the side where the bench / tables were at, you get to see another worker behind the glass window make the donuts in real time from start to finish. It's pretty interesting and adds a bit of excitement and anticipation of what will ultimately end up in your belly. Other than that, there's no restroom on-site. All in all, I recommend it, if you happen to be on this side of town and are craving somthing sweet at such a late hour. read more

I found Donut Hut a couple months back and have come back multiple times since! The donuts are soft, tasty and always fresh. I know I can come here at anytime (literally they're open 24hrs) to get a good donut. I like the raspberry butterfly, it has raspberry twisted throughout it. The people attending are always friendly and kind, and with a hut open 24/7 you can't go wrong. It's always a nice place to visit as they have parking and seating so everyone can enjoy. Sometimes, a donut is just a donut...or in this case, a doughnut. It doesn't need to be "gramable" or have a crazy shape or be made out of a completely different type of dough. The location doesn't have to be stylish or unique. All you need is a window full of baked or fried goodness and a box to bring them home in. Doughnut Hut is classic and simple, but those aren't pejorative terms. They're what define this Burbank staple. You walk up to a window...point at what you want...and you go. That's how it should be, unless there's a line down the street, which sometimes happen because yes, it's worth the wait. Open 24 hours, which is rare in this city, you can get a doughnut any time of day...but fair warning, they sell out of the good ones sometimes. Thankfully my go to is the sugar donut and they almost always have it in stock. One time, I came at the wrong time, late in the day, and the guy actually told me that those had been sitting for a while and I should probably get something else. Other places would have just sold me a stale donut, but not this place. Service is always good here and generally speedy unless something has to be handmade...like the breakfast sandwich. Like most of the classic donut shops in the city, they serve croissants and it's variations. The breakfast sandwich might be my favorite thing they serve and might be, bite for bite, one of the best breakfast items in the city of Burbank. Fluffy eggs, cheese, bacon, and ham...nestled between a toasted croissant (you can also get it on a bagel). Simple and classic, full of flavor with every bite. Like the breakfast sandwich, another not advertised item they sell are the apple and blueberry fritters. They sell them in two sizes, ones the size of a babies head and a more manageable donut sized one. The blueberry is my favorite, but neither can go wrong. Both are wonderfully glazed and have bits of fruit inside with every bite. The blueberry is my favorite between the two and you can see streaks of purple inside the dough. It's great with a cup of coffee. If you do need some social media credibility, they do have some other flavors to offer. They have specials every day ranging from matcha and sesame to various strawberry glazed with fruity pebbles and other toppings like shaved white chocolate. One of the more unique offerings they have, a thai tea donut. If you really want to get diabetes, pair it with their thai tea (or coffee), which is absolutely sweet, but delicious. Come here for one donut or a dozen or more. Sometimes, if you get a dozen and there's room in the box...they may give you more to fill up the box or give you a sample of something new...so be kind and tip these people well. If I had one knock against this place it was that they were cash only for the longest time...but modern times have caught up and they now accept cashless payments. There is a 10 dollar minimum, but I really don't think it'd be that difficult to gladly spend that much every time I come here. read more
