We loved this place. The kids enjoyed their pancakes, and breakfast burritos. I had the Mona Lisa and a pancake on the side. The pancakes were homemade, and so was the syrup. Homemade syrup? Seriously the best! My boyfriend had the chicken fried steak, and devoured it. All of our portions were HUGE. The bacon is extra thick, and tastes so good! We went on a Saturday and had a 25 minute wait, but it was well worth the wait. The Host was so incredibly personable, and fun. Our server was adorable, kind, and knew the menu very well. read more

Went here on 10/23/21 for breakfast. Got here around 830 and there was a minimal wait. By the time we got our meal it looked like there was a long wait, probably around 930. Service was great! Nothing has ever been bad here, but sometimes I think the portions are too big for the average human. Seems wasteful! It would be better if they maybe offered different size options for the entrees. My husband and I stopped in due to it being nearby, it was our first time but it definitely won't be our last. To start, my husband really enjoyed their coffee and I fell in love with their chai. The food was absolutely amazing, I ordered the Taos papas and the portion is definitely gracious and I happily took the rest home. My husband ordered the Lil Billy and he didn't leave a crumb behind. We live up in Ft Collins and love the Doug's up here but the Thornton location was admittedly a bit of a letdown. Our food took forever to come out, others who had arrived after us got theirs far sooner than we did. We probably waited around 45 minutes for it. When it did arrive, one of the dishes was steaming hot and the others were cold, I had a breakfast burrito that was not warm in the least and it was not great, the small amount of green chile on it had congealed. The coffee tasted really off and I couldn't even finish a cup. Service started friendly and attentive but seemed to drop off the longer we sat there waiting for our food. Just not a great experience overall and nothing like the one up by us. read more

Doug's Diner is the best restaurant within Greeley's, Garden City's, and Evan's lands of jurisdiction. Then, I found out that this place is a chain throughout northern Colorado. I also dined at the one in Fort Collins, where the food was identical to the Greeley location. At this location, the restaurant offered breakfast enchiladas. I ordered it with chicken glazed with green chili. Once again, this chain didn't disappoint. It's great that Doug's Diner is in the Denver area. read more

Unfortunately going to have to stop going to this local favorite. Since my family has moved In the area we have always loved Doug's. We have eaten here many times, and it's our go to for when we want breakfast to go. Unfortunately the last few visits have been not up to par. During a weekend dinner we sat outside on there patio. Tables were broken and dirty. Not a big problem I can wipe a seat off myself. I order the dip and it was the worst thing I have ever eaten. When the waiter came with the check and saw a sandwich with one bite taken out he asked if I wanted him to box it up. Nope I replied. Are you sure there's a lot left? Absolutely. Maybe that should have been a clue as to the quality of the food, but no problem again maybe I was just being picky. Today on a busy Saturday morning we called in to place an order for pick up. When I arrived they said there wasn't any order under my name. While they looked for it a customer returned to the bar with my order that had been mixed up with his. They gave him the order on the counter and gave me mine. The order which was given to the other customer who had left the restaurant for an unknown amount of time. A little flabbergasted I asked the waitress how long the food had been outside the restaurant. She said not long at all and promised it was ok. For some reason I paid for my used meal and left the restaurant. If Doug's is willing to blatantly violate health codes in this fashion I wonder what else is going on behind closed doors. On 8/27 I was sitting at the counter for a late breakfast when a server accidentally ran the leg of a high chair she was carrying right into my back on the lower left rib cage. It was quite a hit and literally took my breath away. The server quickly apologized but I couldn't really speak at that point. She apologized again but when I didn't answer her right away, she actually got testy with me and said, "Well, sir, it was an accident! I didn't do it on purpose!" and huffed off, as if I was supposed to be the one to console her. I never saw her again after that. After a minute or so, I caught my breath and the server behind the counter who had taken my order asked if I was okay, and I said I was. But the pain in my back didn't go away immediately - in fact it lasted several days. When she gave me my bill, she pointed out that she had reduced it by $6.00. Gee, that was nice. What wasn't so nice is that I never saw a manager, and no one really acted as though they cared. I finished my breakfast with my back throbbing, and walked out the door without anyone in authority making sure I was okay. Today is 9/8 and there is still a nasty bruise on my back where the injury occurred, technically a deep tissue contusion. But if she had hit me with just a little more force, she very well could have broken a rib. I'm 68 years old, by the way. The server who hit me with the high chair was obviously ill-trained in dining room safety and, frankly, exhibited a complete lack of any empathy for what she had done. Obviously, she was equally ill-trained in good customer service. In the end, I'm fine, but I'll never go back to Doug's, not because their food isn't good, but because they don't really care about you as a person. There is obviously inept, cowardly or absent management because I was never approached to ensure my injury was in fact superficial. And the $6.00 discount? I'm sure the server though she was doing the right thing, but I honestly found it almost insulting. Charge me full price, or comp the check as a genuine show of concern and contrition. Otherwise, don't bother. Speaking as former F&B Exec, who ran many restaurants, I would have been all over this customer, making sure he was genuinely okay; I would have filled out an accident report for my insurance liability carrier in case there were any serious medical issues after the fact; I would have comped the guest's check and apologized several times; I would have gotten a phone number to check on this guest the next day to ensure he was okay; and finally, I would have had a documented discussion with the server who carried a high chair through a crowded dining room so carelessly, that she hit a guest in the back with enough force to literally leave him breathless. But that's just me. It's not Doug's. read more

Price and quantity??? Cant beat it here. First time and very impressed. I ordered the hill Billy, but probably should had gone with the smaller version. The biscuit had hashbrowns on top and smothered in the gravy. All of which was delicious. The bacon was tasty too. Nice thick slab of bacon. The eggs were eggs...glad they didnt messed that up. Very happy with the food. The staff were very friendly and the environment was cool open space. We had to wait to sit in, but it wasn't bad at all. Overall, definitely will return! I've been to Doug's now twice within a week. Both visits were great. On the first visit, my wife and I visited for breakfast. The place was quiet and the staff was friendly. I ordered the Taos Papas and it was soo delicious. She had one of the omelets and really seemed to enjoy it. My second visit was for lunch. Knowing how much I enjoyed the Papas I order the Carne Asada Papas and my buddy ordered the Legend Burger. Again the papas was delicious. My buddies burger looks amazing. He said it was one of the best burgers he's ever had. That says a lot considering he's pushing 60. I'm looking forward to returning and trying one of these burgers myself. read more
