Went to the tapas side. Food presentation was terrible and food was subpar. Egg on the Mozambique fries was undercooked, runny whites...gross Calamari was less than average, grilled octopus came out swimming in some weird sauce, dripping off a flat plate, "stuffed" shrimp was dry and overcooked with barely any stuffing...basically 3 dry shrimp in a casserole dish with some crumbs sprinkled around The only good thing we had were a half dozen oysters. Should have been tipped off when we got there we were the only customers on a Sunday night Wait staff was friendly but when it was time to pay the bill we literally walked around the restaurant looking for anyone to help us. This was our first time there. It was a nice atmosphere. Service was not great at all. We ordered two dozen oysters some were fresh other were frozen! It then took two hours to get our meals. Our reservations were at 7 didn't get our meals until 9. Surf and turf steak was cooked on the inside and completely burnt on the outside and was so small like a bifana. Also ordered salmon with vegetables and the vegetables were completely cold. By the time we got our food we weren't even hungry anymore. Drinks were forgotten. The only thing enjoyable was dessert. Not worth the money we spent. Guess everyone has a different experience ours just wasn't that great unfortunately. read more

The 2-star rating is more for the atmosphere than anything else. Just dropped $150 on a subpar Valentine's dinner. My date (aka hubby of 37 years) was the best part of the entire evening. The garlic shrimp appetizer was absent of any garlic and a huge dissapointment. My husband's shrimp Mozambique did not match up to any local Portuguese restaurant in the area. My filet that I ordered medium came out rare. Sent it back and got a medium rare steak. And for $45 you would think that the entree would include 2 sides. Instead, I got a serving of undercooked vegetables. Did I mention that we did not get any bread to accompany our garlic shrimp appetizer???? It was a huge disappointment. And on the way out, no one, including our server, Eddie, bothered to say good night to us...this included the maitre d. Needless to say, we won't be returning any time soon, if ever. read more

On 02/14/2023 I made a reservation for 2 at 7:30PM. we arrived early and were told it would be "15 to 20 minutes," along with 8+ other couples who were also waiting with reservations while being told the same thing. We stood around the crowded hostess stand for an hour and were not SEATED until 8:35PM. We then sat at a table for another 20 minutes without so much as a greeting, never mind a glass of water. We, along with 4-5 other separate couples all walked out after the poorest possible service, no meals and no effort to accommodate us. Clearly overbooked and understaffed. I would not even consider returning to this poorly run restaurant. read more

Great food and there are no complaints there! The surf and turf was one of the most superb I have tasted in years. My only complaint is our server by the name of Melissa. She was kind but appeared to be drinking in between dining check ins. Her words were slow and slurred. My wife and I felt very uncomfortable. I have worked with wait staff of this nature under my own management but continual employment was not possible. I have been in the restaurant business for 30+ years and it's unfortunate that the managing staff at your fine restaurant would overlook this. I had drinks and apps at the bar. The staff is excellent and very friendly. The apps were very good, presentation beautiful. Heather was our bartender and she makes excellent drinks. My favorite was espresso martini and the pearl blossom. We stayed for a while chatting with Louis, the owner, and the staff, Ed and Heather. I recommend trying this place. read more

We made reservations for 5 of us, really hoping to like it. Unfortunately we left after appetizers. We didn't even finish the raw oysters we ordered, the portions were smaller than expected for the premium price and the waitress was not attentive. We were the only patrons in the restaurant and we could not get her attention for Tabasco sauce. She did have time to talk with other staff for a lengthy period of time. If your into the idea of Beautiful Decor, and less than moderate food. This place is a Great idea, but very poor execution. Staff was unorganized, slow and Very Quiet! Food was extremely bland! With Fall River being almost world renown for the cultural diversit, and amazing food. This place does not stand out, or stand up to the competition in the area. I do not expect it to stick around long, highly suggest not wasting your time or money here. We had a lot of excitement building up to our visit, and a disappointment is a bit of an understatement. Fantastic restaurant! 3 of us each ordered different steaks and they were all delicious, had their own unique flavors, super tender, and cooled perfectly. Sides of grilled vegetables and Brussels sprouts with bacon were crunchy and flavorful. Good selection of wines and mixed drinks as well as non alcoholic beverages. I really liked the blueberry lemonade. Fun decorations both inside and outside. Definitely worth a repeat visit. I thought very reasonably priced. Only downside was I was too full to look at a dessert menu. read more

On Feb. 4 me and 9 other people went to this restaurant for dinner. We had reservations for 730 didn't sit down until 8 which isn't the problem . We sat down ordered some appetizers and then ordered our entrees 9 entrees came out together and when they did they were all cold. The tenth entree didn't come out until about 10 minutes later and when it came out it wasn't what was on the menu and i questioned the waiter on it he said it was. I asked for the menu to review it and before i could review it the waiter said it wasn't what came out. The food had no taste. Portuguese food is supposed to have flavor. This had nothing. There are way better restaurants in the area. Will never go back to this place,neither will any of the people that were there that night.Btw this was my second time there and the first time was the same. Went there this time because the reservations were made by someone else in the group and i tried to tell him but he said well things have changed let's give it a try. We were really looking forward to dinner here, but unfortunately for the prices they are tagging their dishes with, they sadly, don't live up to one's expectation. The Ribeye could've been a larger portion for the price, and the Filet is smaller than an NHL hockey puck, for $45! Maybe 6oz... maybe! As well as our mash potatoes weren't really "mashed" and they came out cold! The service was decent, but we had to wait/ look around for our waitress... when it came to refilling our beverages. Made a reservation for 7:30 on Valentine's Day and when we arrived we could tell they were extremely backed up. There were about 6 or 7 other couples waiting to be seated. We got a table around 8 pm. Our waiter was nice, but we could tell he was overwhelmed. We waited 30 minutes for our appetizer. We then didn't get our meals until 9:30 (2 hours after our reservation time!). At that point we did not want to sit there any longer so we asked the waiter to package our food to go before bringing it to the table. We took it to go and when we got home realized they gave us shrimp Mozambique instead of the steak we ordered. In our two hours there we saw about 3 couples get up and leave because they had been sitting for 20 minutes and never received service. This was the worst dinner experience we've ever had. This place is horribly run and I suggest spending your money elsewhere as this is not worth the price at all. read more

Trash! Waited 30 minutes for drinks. Ran out of alcohol to make specific drinks. Portuguese steak was a 6oz beef sandwich steak. Frutti Di Mari was suppose to be in a tomato sauce but served in a white wine garlic sauce. Waiter told us that's the way it comes even though menu stated tomato sauce. We made reservations for 7 and arrived on time. We had to wait 20 minutes for a table. After sitting down we waited another 10 minutes for our waiter to show up. Bread took another 20 minutes to come out and the apps 15 minutes after that. For those counting that is over an hour after our reservation to get appetizers. The bread and apps were good to be fair, especially the cauliflower. After our apps the main courses took another 40 or so minutes to come out. The steaks were all terrible. They were all overdone and not at all tender. We wanted to send them back but at this point it had been so long we just wanted to eat and leave. The sides were also not great at all. The mashed potatoes were plastic and the vegetables were bland. One dish came with rice and fries as a side and both were bland as well. For a place that seems to style itself a somewhat upscale steakhouse it fails miserably on almost all fronts. If you can't even cook a steak to the correct temp, what are we even doing here? Let me start by saying, I gave this place one too many chances. About 3 months ago I went there with family for a birthday dinner (party of 6). We had reservations and arrived for the time reserved and our reservation was no where to be found. They now did not have a table for us, and the host tried squeezing us onto a table that fit 4 people. We had to ask for another table because there was no way of 6 people fitting. To make a long story short we spent 3 hours there to get cold food that was all wrong. One person in our party did not receive food until 15 minutes after everyone had received theres and already had attempted to eat their cold food. The waiter also completely forgot to bring out the surprise birthday cake we brought and proceeded to try and get us to order dessert. Fast forward to yesterday we gave it a second chance. We had the same waiter, and the same thing happened again. He had no idea who ordered what, the food took over 2 hours to come, and again was extremely cold / multiple dishes were wrong. AND ONE PERSONS MEAL WAS COMPLETELY MISSED. She never received food and had to share someone else and they gave her the food to take home. Many plates went untouched. Just drink refills alone took 30 minutes. And to top it off, half of the menu was unavailable because they ran out. $105 tip was already included and the waiter DID NOT deserve that. I have no problem paying and tipping for good service but this was horrendous. Will NEVER go back again. read more

We lucked out with a good server. We sat for more than 30 minutes before a server even approached our table.. The bus boy worked his tail off making sure each table had bread and water. Felt like we were I prison We were better off than most. The couple ahead of us had a reservation a reservation with confirmation on their phone yet the restaurant could not find the reservation. They had to wait for a table. The atmosphere is very pleasant. You have your choice between an intimate New York style restaurant beautifully decorated or a sunlit patio. The food was well prepared. Entre's reasonably priced. Don't get the cheese plate as a starter. Consisted of 8 pieces of cheese some honey a little bit of ham with some sub par canned olives and crusty bread. We skipped dessert. Since we had wasted so much time waiting to be served. I would go back for the atmosphere. If it had different management.. the entire restaurant was a chaotic mess. read more

Really wanted to like it. Great vibe and atmosphere. Dinner for 2. Ordered dinners and no appetizers. Waited over an hour and a half for food to arrive. Chicken Mozambique was truly terrible watery with no flavor, the steak was fair at best. Also, ordered Portuguese fries which the server said were "loaded fries with sauce" - they were just French fries in a bowl. The server was kind and tried. Asked how everything was and I don't usually say anything but she could tell I wasn't eating it. I said it is truly terrible. She said I will have the manager come over. She spoke to him twice but he never bothered to come over. We love to support local restaurants and businesses but sadly we won't be going back here. The manager never could be bothered to come over. My seat was also facing the kitchen window. I am not the COVID police but am glad I had my 2nd vaccine. The chef had his mask off most of the time as did the manager who was expediting the food. The restaurant was full and there wasn't much room for social distancing between tables in the main restaurant area. If you are uncomfortable with crowds this is not a place for you. read more
