Good over rice deals, slightly lower price during their lunch hours. Tried a few, some hits and misses for us. Some picks which we liked are pork with bamboo shoots, beef with bittermelon, fried fish fillets, salty fish and chicken fried rice. Pork with scallion chilli was good, at less spicy level for me. Beef chow fun was ok. Three cup chicken wasn't for me, plain with slightly gingery flavor, need to have basil with each bite, small bone pieces (be careful); and Beef stew meat wasn't tender, tough and chewy. Have been here for larger family get togethers and enjoyed the food then as well.

Big plus: they're open late until 11 pm, which is always appreciated. They have a solid list of over-rice combos, all reasonably priced around $11-$12, with generous portions. I ordered the beef with bitter melon over rice, and this alone guarantees I'll be back. It's the first time I've seen this combo offered anywhere, and it was surprisingly delicious, even with the natural bitterness of the bitter melon. My husband ordered the beef with bamboo shoots over rice, and that was tasty as well. Everything came out flavorful and satisfying. Service was another highlight -- the wait staff was quick to refill our hot tea, and the place was clean and well-kept, even though we came close to closing time. Also glad to see that they accept cards though there is a $20 minimum. We also ordered the stinky tofu. While I wasn't used to the sauce they used (it had soy sauce and capers, which was a bit different from what I'm accustomed to), it didn't take away from how yummy the tofu itself was. Overall, this was a great late-night find, and I'll definitely be coming back to try more items on their menu. Glad we finally stopped in!

My friends ordered the vegetable stir fry noodles and beef stir fry noodles. The noodle orders were good and huge portions (we all ended up packing some home). The meat inside the dumpling was flavorful. I prefer thinner skins but my friends really like them. The counter person was not the owner (I think maybe he was the son) -- very helpful and patient answering all the questions posed by my friends. I forgot to take photos of the food. Too busy chatting and catching up with the girls.

Does not appear there is a server or tipping required. Ample sauces. Large menu. Noodles are actually hand pulled nr the counter I got the #2 boiled pork and leek dumplings. Rather costly at $6 for 8. After about 25 minutes I was still waiting. Staffer said it takes 10min to cook but they must have been busy. Signage is poor as it doesn't say Lao Bei Fang in English. Just says Northern Dumplings. My boiled dumplings were good. Very thick skinned. Pricing and long wait makes me ding this place.

Absolute perfection and made to order, so sip on some hot milk tea out of a beautiful teapot and nom on a perfectly moist scone while you wait 20 minutes for what could be the best dessert of your life. The desserts here are the epitome of "not too sweet" asian treats in the best way possible. I didn't even know I liked scones until I came here, and then I was inspired to bake some of my own (which fell short of the ones here, but of course). Despite it always being crowded, somehow I have always gotten a seat when dining in with no wait. And the customers just keep coming, and the vibe only gets better. The interior is just too cute, and each location has a unique "look" to it but they all scream tea house. Service is nothing short of excellent. Although the menu is on a QR code, it's easy to get the attention of a waitstaff to place your order, and the food and drinks come out quickly. This is a great place to take a date, a friend, a family member, heck - even a place to introduce them to each other.
