I was genuinely shocked that a restaurant like this can still exist in 2025. As a Korean, it's honestly embarrassing to imagine a non-Korean eating this and thinking this is Korean food. The "jeyuk bokkeum" was not jeyuk bokkeum--at all. The sauce it was tossed in was so poorly matched to the pork that it was borderline nauseating. Portion size? Laughable. For an $18 dish, it was already small, but even after paying extra for additional protein, the amount I received was hard to comprehend. I don't eat rice, so I only had the meat--two servings with extra protein--and I still wasn't even close to full. One person could easily eat two of these "extra protein" portions and walk away hungry. That tells you everything you need to know. If you're Korean, I strongly advise you to stay away. If you're not Korean, do yourself a favor and don't think of this as Korean food--because it isn't. I strongly, unequivocally do not recommend this place. read more

02/2025 update: I ordered the galbi tang with rice - this is a dish I used to compliment but the soup today literally tasted sour. My only guess is they used old or rotting radishes. Hunny is a Korean fusion ghost kitchen located in the Sunnyside Eats food hall for pickup and delivery. You can order online or on the kiosks there and pick up from the lockers after checking in your name. I was a bit confused about the check in process, but you can either scan your order or search for your name (I did the latter since my order didn't have a barcode). Hunny is open late and has combos that can save money when ordering multiple dishes. I had the OG galbi tang and hulk dubbap. The galbi tang is a soup with some vermicelli noodles, rib meat, and daikon. It comes with rice. Nice rich, mild flavor but I would have liked the meat and daikon to be more tender. The hulk dubbap is a rice and french fries bowl with rib meat and spicy green sauce. The green sauce isn't that spicy and lends a wonderful taste to the dish. I would have liked more sauce since the meat was a bit on the dry side. Extra sauce can be added for a small fee. There was also a small amount of vegetables (onions and tomatoes/peppers?) which was very flavor but I would have liked more. Good dish overall and plenty of food! read more

I've ordered twice from here before. The first time I ordered the soft dumpling + tofu stew, which was pretty good and hit the spot. The next time I ordered the chicken rice bowl... which wasn't as good to me. It's very heavy. I only ate half the bowl. It was a bit too much sauce and a lot of pepper. I wish the sauce came on the side. The chicken itself was good (if it didn't have as much pepper). There were very few fries, and the fries that were found in the dish were very soggy at that point because of the sauce. The mandus are fried, so given the appetizer and main dish I felt so heavy as one does when eating fast food. If I were to rate based on the tofu stew, I would rate it 4/5, but just know what to expect when ordering here that it's very much fast food quality. read more

Tried this place for the third time now. They have improved a lot. The first time I got the pork bowl and it wasn't good as expected. The second time I decided to give another try by ordering the chicken bowl from ubereats. Wow sauce got better and chicken tasted a lot better than the pork, not as oily. Really great late night food. Well seasoned and marinated! Was pleasantly surprised by the quality and taste of the food. They're also really great with customer service - I mentioned I didn't want bell peppers in my meal, being this is sort of Korean fusion, I figured there would be - and they wrote this cute little post it note telling me to enjoy my food and letting me know there's no bell peppers at all. My new goto spot for korean food!! I ordered the Hulk Galbi Dubbap, and it did not disappoint. The galbi (beef) was tender, juicy, and just melts when it entered my mouth. Update - Was able try Hulk Galbi Dubbap - braised short ribs over rice/fries in a traditional sauce. On recommendation, added. the Hulk and Wanda sauces! WOW!! Not HOT but flavorful and complex - the ribs are meaty, tender and when you get a bite with the right about of fries, rice and the sauce- it's a "make your mouth happy" moment. I am giving this a bit of a generous review since this establishment is new don't want to discourage my young fellow Korean brethren but at the same time want to give feedback - We ordered the Ok Kalbi Tang and Hulk Kalbi Dubbap and as other reviewers have said, the kalbi meat is really good. I had to take off 1 star, however, because our Ok Kalbi Tang meat had a bit too much gristle on it so it was hard to chew. (PLEASE use scissors to cut it out before serving it to your customers - I know Korean restaurants make good use of using scissors for meat so hope this place can too.) A little side note - We were humored by the sauce names and realized that the young chefs were inspired by Peruvian cuisine. (The green sauce as it turns out is huacatay sauce and the kalbi bowls including french fries in them seems like Hunny's take on salchipapas.) Hubby happens to be Peruvian :) Suggestion: Maybe too many restaurants are putting kimchi in everything so I don't see anything in your menu with it. (Kimchi-d out?) Wish there were dishes with it though, like a good bibimbap. (This is hubby's #1 favorite Korean dish.) New restaurant that opened up on Ubereats recently. I'm not sure if it's a virtual kitchen only but they have a pretty small menu. I was craving some Korean soup during this cold winter evening in NYC. I decided to give this spot a try and I was surprisingly shocked at how good it was. I was throwing a shot in the dark with whether the food would even be edible, but my honest assessment is that it was good. Kalbitang was a bit oily, but the flavor of the broth was amazing and packed a punch. They also included 10ish chunks of meat, radish, glass noodles, green onions, and side of rice with one order which was a lot of food. I don't eat much so that last me 2 meals for one order. I also order the tofu pouch with imitation crab meat and it was solid. I wouldn't say it's my favorite but if you were craving the sweet tofu texture, it tastes good. Literally the best dubbap I've ever had in my life. As a Korean American who does not get to eat home-cooked meals often, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. I placed an order on Uber Eats for BOGO Goku chicken Dubbap and was only sent 1 order. This was after already waiting 45 minutes for the delivery. I called the restaurant and explained the situation. At which point the bozo on the phone said she personally packed two bowls. I explained to her that I had one and would send a Pic to prove it and to please send my other half of the order. She said no and that it was possible the delivery person took the other order, even though the bag was stapled. I told her that would mean the delivery would need to drive around with a stapler, which she said, he probably does. She basically called me a liar and refused to correct the order. I gave it a shot and ordered it with a friend and we both regretted it. 1. They messed up our order. We ordered and called the storefront requesting 1 with Goku sauce and the other with Hulk sauce. When we got it they were both Goku and another neg is that they gave us no utensils and napkins... 2.The chicken was way too salty. The cuisIne is so delicious -- the flavors, spice (yowsa!), combinations and sizable portions are unexpected and consistent.
