Dr. Dee came out during the specified window of time and was able to take apart my dryer, diagnose the problem and had the part on his van so my dryer worked again the same day I called for an appointment. Dr. Dees Part 2. After having Dr. Dees repair my dryer, it was working great for a few days. Then the dryer was still running with no screeching but wasn't drying very well. Dr. Dees came back the same day I made the call, about 45 minutes sooner than I expected. He checked a few things and didn't find anything not in working order. He did find no air coming out of the vent, disconnected the tubing from the dryer, and found a VERY significant amount of lint clogging the tubing. Dr. dees cleaned out the vent, each piece of tubing, connected tubing to dryer and charged a very reasonable amount for the time he was there. Dr. Dees is friendly, punctual, and has very good customer service skills. read more

I contacted Dr. Dees Appliance Repair to help with my GE refrigerator. The top refrigerator section of my GE Profile counter depth French door fridge wasn't getting cold, food was at 57 degrees, but the freezer down below was still working fine. I suspected the evaporator fan might be faulty. But I really wasn't sure. There were several other components that might result in the same symptoms. And my anxious urgency was propelled by the fact that dry ice was sublimating in the fridge as the food was about to grow warmer and possibly spoil. I needed the problem to be fixed fast. Dee arrived on time and quickly analyzed the situation. While he was taking the refrigerator apart to examine it, I mentioned that I dabble in appliance repair myself. But I didn't wanna take the time to analyze this problem because my food was thawing out, I was busy with other things and I needed the part in a hurry. We quickly confirmed that it was indeed the evaporator fan that was failing. Dee demonstrated to me how to disassemble and reassemble the plastic side panels in the refrigerator and to my surprise, he asked me if I'd prefer to buy the part and fix it myself, thereby saving me several hundred dollars for a follow up visit. Of course! Yes! So Dee provided the written estimate where he wrote down the part number for the fan. I paid a well earned service estimate fee. Later that day I found the OEM part on Amazon about an hour later, for less than $50. It's an original GE part and it'll be here by 10 o'clock tomorrow night. I haven't had an experience with an old-fashioned, professional, high-quality service person who understands the value of good service and developing long-term loyal relationships, versus a quick grab for money. But Dees is all of that. He is a noble, honest good guy. I appreciate quality service and the honest and forthright services he offered to help me, in the most efficient way. That might not be the most profitable for Dee, but it was the right solution for my urgent problem. I'm going to replace that fan tomorrow. But if anything else ever goes wrong with any of my appliances, the first place I'm gonna go is to Dr. Dee. read more

My LG refrigerator stopped working. I called for an appointment. When "Dr Dee" showed up it was evening. He showed up with his family in his van. They waited outside. He seemed distracted and in a hurry. My refrigerator had not been working for a month and I was hoping he would help. He pulled out the refrigerator put his ear to the back. Said it wasn't the compressor and it was not worth fixing. (This is a 7 yr old refrigerator). He never opened it up, did any diagnostics....nothing....that was the repair visit that cost me $135.00 and took less than 5 minutes. Then he went on a rant about politics. It was a very unprofessional visit that was a waste of my money! As it turned out it was my compressor and it was fixable ....much less expensive than a new refrigerator. Besides being a half hour late for his 4 hour window, Dee Gott showed up without a mask. When I asked to put one on he said "Are you serious?" I said "Yes, I'm serious. Are you vaccinated?" He said no and I told him I wanted him to leave. He gestured that I was crazy (spinning his finger around his ear) and turned and left. I had a user error problem with my dishwasher. He came within the window, diagnosed the problem well, fixed it, and explained why so that I could figure out my plumber had swapped the disposal and dishwasher plugs and he had put them back properly. All good. Pretty pricey at $160 for less than a 1/2 hour work, but I'm OK with that. The problem - No mask and gave us a big speech about why he didn't need to wear the one we gave him. I called Dr. Dee's on a Sunday and they returned my call before noon the next day and were onsite by 2pm the next day. The man who replaced my garbage disposal was fast and courteous. It was expensive, which is why I withheld a star, but otherwise, no complaints. For 20 minutes, I was charged $117 labor and $95 parts replacement, for a total of $220.00 (with tax). Ouch... But after living for a few days without a disposal, I'm just happy to be able to stuff veggie peels back down the drain. :) Dr. Dee's provided good service and it's not like I comparison-shopped, so maybe their prices are right on target. We were starting to cross while we had the walk signal, at that moment you turned from northbound Winchester onto Williams almost hitting myself and child. You may be able to fix appliances well but you should be more aware of your surroundings while driving, not to mention following cell phone driving laws.... read more

My dryer stopped turning because the belt was broken. I called Dr. Dee's at 2.30pm after Sears no-showed for their appointment. The tech was on site within 20 minutes as promised and the entire repair was completed within the hour. That is as good as it gets... First appt there receptionist ends up calling me at the end of appt and telling me he's running 1hr late so we rescheduled and the second time there late again after giving me a three hr window so he ends up coming later that evening then comes in looks at the dryer and says he doesn't have the part so I'm going to have to reschedule AGAIN , so I reschedule and take off another day of work (3rd time) wait my 3 hr window and I get no call and no show. Used Dr. Dee's for the first time to fix gas stove spark module. Scheduling was easy. Tech showed up on time, and even gave heads up call before arrival. Seems they make quite a bit of margin on parts. Tech quoted parts for $190, and I then looked online for the exact part, and it would've cost $95. Labor was not cheap either - another $150 for the job. It did take over an hour plus. I guest is a "fair" price. read more

I made several calls for oven repair and got only one that was courteous and that was Dr Dee's. They were courteous and i actually got a person to talk to. They discussed the options on the stove part that needed to be replaced and the came right out to look at the oven. They had to order the part and it was in the next day. They called me to let me know that the part was in and scheduled a time for the repair men to come out and replace the part. They were very courteous, and cleaned up after they were done. Their price for the repair was very reasonable and the repair was done very quickly. My thanks to them. If I have any other repairs to be done I will surely call them first. Great people. We had a microwave issue & thought we need a specialist to fix a button which was pressed hard & went inside the panel. I looked online & found Dr. Dees. Dr Dee himself made the appointment & came for the appt on time. He promptly asked for what is the issue & I showed him the problem. He removed the panel in 2 minutes & was able to place the button where it belongs. He also did some cleaning & gave me the spare parts sku in case I decided to order another replacement. Now all of this took less than 15 minutes. Here comes the part which makes me sad. I was told he charges 75$ for house calls . I was expecting since the fix is very simple, he would charge around that 75$. Mane, I got taken by surprise.. He is a real con. He asked me for 150$ saying that is his minimum for fixing any issue. I guess he charges like a real medical doctor... I got a 5 $ coupon to make it $145. Nevertheless felt very much cheated & frustrated. Last weekend I began washing some bulky pillows and small rugs. While washing one of the loads, I went back out to the garage and water had leaked out all over the floor. Luckily our garage floor is concrete and was able to sweep the water out. It's a front loading washer but the leak didn't look like it came from the loading door. The water would not drain. I could not use the machine.... That is a problem, big problem!!!! I called Dr Dee's immediately. I was able to get an appointment first thing Monday morning, Awesome!!!!! He arrived in the time frame I was given, it was a simple fix and that the the outlet to drain was just blocked causing the water to back up. He was able to fix it all in about 20 minutes and haven't had an issue since. What I really appreciate is the honest diagnosis and not feeling like I was being taken advantage of. This was a welcome difference from other service technicians experiences. Will definitely use again in the future. read more

Unfortunately for me, the repairs would be very costly and I have decided to purchase a new machine. Based on my experience, I would never recommend purchasing a Samsung washing machine; one would expect it to last more than 5 years without requiring major repairs. My silly washer just stopped spinning the other day so I yelped and got Dr. D's. Not really thrilled based on reviews. They said it would be $59.95 to come out but if I needed parts or labor that money would go towards that. After 5 minutes he determined there was something wrong with my outlet not my washer and reset the thing and everything worked fine. Since he was done so quickly I asked him to look at my glass stove top oven because one of the burners wasn't working. It turned out to be a frayed wire and was fixed within 15 minutes for a total of 20 min from walk in to walk out. Now the appliances are fixed and I am happy it wasn't anything major but he charged me $110 for the job, that seems a bit ridiculous to me. In looking at the receipt I was charged the $60 for him to come over plus another $50 for the repairs, what happened to the consult cost goes toward the repairs? Wilson was nice, has an Asian accent so I didn't understand him very well. Not to be held against him just for your info. Overall the job was done but on something like that I would suggest you keep to your word so that you have repeat business. Maybe he charged me extra for coming to Morgan Hill, but that should have been said before hand. Sad because things go amiss here all the time, would have liked to have a go-to guy. read more

Our fridge stopped freezing Sunday afternoon and on Monday while calling around, no one was able to get to my repair first thing. I called Dr. Dee and they sent someone right away between 10-12pm. They sent Wilson who was great! He fixed my fridge quickly and it's been working fine ever since. They had really good response time and when your fridge stops cooling, that's really important! I used Dr. Dees for a washing machine problem it was stuck and would not cycle. The first person I called said my machine was not worth fixing and said they have computer board issues. I was deflated at that point and then called Dr. Dees. Scheduling was no problem and he fit me right in later that day. He methodically took the machine apart to find socks stuck in the outer part of the wash basin, so it was STUCK! Well, I've been trying to get a hold of them since last Monday, 2/13 and have not been contacted. I left 2 voicemails and filled out the online request. Nothing. I was willing to give them another chance because my oven first broken down 2/3. I submitted my request online on 2/3 and someone called me back right away and someone came on the next day on 2/4. But in-between, my oven started working. I mentioned this and the lady said they could still figure out what was worng. Of course, the repairman came out and couldn't find anything wrong. Charged me $59 but said if it happened again within 30 days, no service fee. Well, it happened again and I can't wait any longer for them to get their act together. I am now out the $59. read more

I used Dr. Dee's for emergency refrigerator repair recently and did not have a good experience. My refrigerator was not cooling and made a loud motor sound, so I called Dr. Dee's from their ad in the Yellow Pages. A technician came out immediately and gave me a quote on Dr. Dee's letterhead to sign off on with 5 parts listed, one of which was an EVAP Motor to fix the motor sound. A week later the same technician came back to fix the refrigerator and this time he gave me a different invoice on Thomas Appliance Service letterhead. I notice that 2 of the 5 items quoted have different names, and nowhere was EVAP Motor listed. I explained to the technician that I signed off on the EVAP Motor for the motor sound but if he didn't install it I shouldn't be responsible for it. He says I signed off on the whole invoice, not specific parts. I explained to the technician that I saw him put 3 parts in, so where were the other 2 parts. He says he has the parts in the car and cannot return them. The quote did say customer is responsible for parts after order so I paid the technician just to get him out of my house. However, I want to emphasize that 2 of the parts in the final invoice does not match the quote, so I'm unconvinced that they were actually ordered. I called Dr. Dee's to log this complaint and their office upheld the philosophy that I signed off on the whole quote, not the specific parts needed for the repair. I specifically asked about the EVAP Motor and how I only signed off on it for the noise and the noise is still there since that particular part was not installed, and the office says they can only go by what the technician says was done. I am retaining 2 stars only because thank goodness my refrigerator is cooling again. But Dr. Dee's has lost my trust and I would not use them again. read more

I used Dr. Dee's Appliance Repair under my Home Warranty Plan. The repairman was Guy, my stove is an Italian stove which had a broken door gasket. Guy was able to search the web and found the replacement part. It took a few weeks to get the part but Guy returned and sucessfully replaced the broken one. He was also helpful in showing me how to operate the stove (I just moved in the new house so wasn't familiar with European appliances). I was pleased with the service and Guy's knowledge. read more
