First time here; several reviews indicated the food was decent, and this restaurant was close by, so figured I'd try it. I invited some friends (who'd been there previously), and ordered my personal fave, Mongolian Beef. Usually listed as 'spicy', it rarely is, and most places, the beef is tough, and the sauce kind of 'meh'. Not here. Beef was absolutely succulent - I honestly think it was the best I've had - fork-tender; nice and 'saucy', and portions were generous. Spice level was perfect - not enough to 'water my eyes', but definitely hot enough to get my attention and enjoy the spice and flavors. I'm usually somewhat disappointed when going out for "Chinese" food, but I can say unequivocally Dragon Bowls' meal was absolutely outstanding! Really solid place. Reasonable prices. Great food and great staff. Checks the "hole in wall" box while also being a cute Chinese little restaurant. I have thoroughly enjoyed the food previously, upon ordering tonight I was treated to a live scorpion crawling inside my meal. (I suspect it came from one of the dipping sauces as that was the only uncooked thing that came from the restaurant) I called them to inform them, not for a refund or anything, and got nothing but dismissals like its a bean sprout as well as being told it was my own fault! We were both happy with our choices from lunch menu - moo goo gaI pan and sweet & sour pork. Soup was included with combo, but wasn't impressed, I'd skip next time. My wife and I have been going to and receiving deliveries from the Dragon Bowl for 7 years. Today, we ordered two Wor Wonton soups which is suppose to include chicken, beef, and shrimp. The soup we received had NO MEAT. I called the restaurant to inform them of the mistake and they wanted to simply provide me a $5 credit which I told the order taker and later the owner that was unacceptable. Waiting on the correct soup that we paid for to be delivered. The owner was rude and simply hung up on me. They have now lost our business forever. I recommend others to go to a different Chinese restaurant. UPDATE: the new soup delivered had very little meat. One container only had one piece of shrimp. Judging by my previous review, we've been going to Dragon Bowl for at least 6 years now. The food remains very good and the same family members are still there every time, even the kids who are now old enough to be working, not doing their homework at one of the tables. They did recently upgrade their dining-in area but their main business is still a steady stream of pick-up orders and deliveries. 830pm, eat-in. Couldn't manage hot tea. Young man working the dining room has a VERY BAD attitude. I obviously put him out asking for hot. As well, wanted to sit in a chair vs a booth for physical reasons. Tried to demand I sit in huge biith. A oit tossed my food at me. We had stopped coming here before because of the staff bad attitude and a few bad delivery experiences with things missing. Didn't give me much faith that this guy was swiping the floor one minute and serving good seconds later... No washing hands in between. Horrible location. If you didn't know about this place you'll miss it everytime. I come here from time to time as I live walking distance away. From the outside it looks like a whole on the wall, but inside it's definitely a gem. Service is always top notch, place is very clean. The food comes fast and is decent. Big portions at a fair price. I will say it's nothing out of the ordinary for a Chinese restaurant. They are right on par with any other decent Chinese restaurant. No unique or crazy plates or entrees. But that's not a bad thing. This place is worth the money, I will go back time an time again. read more
